Winter Storm Warning in effect until Sunday. Windy today. ENE winds 25-35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. 100% chance of morning rain changing to afternoon freezing rain. Windy tonight. ENE winds 25-35mph. 90% chance of freezing rain. Significant icing possible. Low around 28.

Was awake from about 3 this morning listening to that roaring wind way up high as it howled along. This has to be one monster storm blasting across the country. I’m only grateful that wind wasn’t at ground level. What we have going on down here is bad enough but that sounded like hurricane force wind up high.

This is one horrible storm, this Winter Storm Xanto. Snow, wind, ice, hail, sleet – and tornadoes to the south. It’s a massive storm covering so much ground it’s hard to believe. What is harder to believe is that this is mid-April. This would be a wicked storm in mid-winter, but now? In the Spring? It’s insane.

Very possible I won’t have power for a posting tomorrow. So I’ll be back whenever it’s possible.
