Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021-SW Michigan-Sept Ending On A High Note

Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021-SW Michigan-Sept Ending On A High Note

Currently 63 with an average wind from the SE of 1 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 30.21, Humidity 69%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 7:27 pm.

Partly cloudy today with a high of 77 degrees. Light and variable winds.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low of 51 degrees. Light and variable winds.

Enjoy these nice temperatures now because it looks as if Sunday through Wednesday our high temperatures will only be in the upper 60s. With rain added just for the fun of it.  Doesn’t sound very pleasant, so these are the days to get out and about and tend to things. 60 degrees and a cold rain sounds perfectly miserable. You do realize that with Fall upon us, we’ll be getting more and more of that sort of day. And then it will snow. This sounds very much like a sad story to me so I’m going to close this particular book and go read something better. It’s called Spring….

Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021-SW Michigan-Lovely Weather Continues

Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021-SW Michigan-Lovely Weather Continues

Currently 57 with an average wind from the ESE of 4 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 53, Barometer 30.12, Humidity 87%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 7:28 pm.

Sunny today with a high of 76 degrees. Light and variable winds for the most part.

Clear overnight skies. Low 50 degrees. Light and variable winds.

This week is an absolute delight. Rain perhaps coming by the weekend, but these day are as good as could be hoped for. Comfortable temperature, abundant sunshine, no breezes to speak of.  The Jet Stream, as of now, is curved way high above our state, leaving us nestled in the wonderful weather that we’re experiencing. This would be pleasant to have stretched out much longer than it likely will be. In the meantime, enjoy it. I sure am doing just that.

Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021-SW Michigan-Perfect Autumn Weather

Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021-SW Michigan-Perfect Autumn Weather

Currently 57 with an average wind from the ENE of 3 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 50, Barometer 30.03, Humidity 83%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:37 am, Sunset 7:30 pm.

Nothing but sunshine all day long. High 74 degrees. Light and variable winds.

Clear overnight skies. Low 48. Light and variable winds.

For some reason I have something on my phone that keeps cropping up every morning with an alert that rain is gong to start in 15 minutes. Not a cloud in the sky. No clouds expected. And certainly no rain expected. But those alerts just keep cropping up. Entertaining but rather useless. At any rate – no rain today. In fact it looks like bout next Sunday when we can expect a bit of precipitation. And I’m hoping not then. Come on…Sunday? Would be nice if it held off until Monday. We’ll see how it goes. In the meantime I’m sure my phone will keep on predicting rain until it finally does rain.

Monday, Sept. 27, 2021-SW Michigan-Might Reach 80 Today

Monday, Sept. 27, 2021-SW Michigan-Might Reach 80 Today

Currently 70 with an average wind from the WSW of 13 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 59, Barometer 29.76, Humidity 73%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:36 am, Sunset 7:32 pm.

A mix of sun and clouds today with a high near 80. WSW winds 10-15 mph.

Clearing to partly cloudy overnight with a low around 50. NNE winds 5 -10 mph.

Well…what a relief. According to one of the weather stations I check in with, the nearest lightening strike to me is 1039.0 miles away. Guess I don’t have to fear being hit by lightening this morning. And nothing to fear from the weather at all for that matter. A lovely day, very likely the highest temperature we’re going to reach in some time, so I’m going to enjoy  it. Hope you do, too. No rain in sight for the week – as of now. Temperatures still remaining in the 70 degree range. Very pleasant.

Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021-SW Michigan-Splendid Fall Weather Continues

Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021-SW Michigan-Splendid Fall Weather Continues

Currently 66 with an average wind from the SW of 6 mph. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 53, Barometer 29.92, Humidity 65%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:35 am, Sunset 7:34 pm.

Partly cloudy becoming overcast later on. High 74. WSW winds 10-20 mph.

Partly cloudy early on with clearing later during the night. Low 62. SW winds 10-15 mph.

Still looks to be 70 degrees all week long only losing a degree or so about next Sunday where it appears the 60 degree range is coming into view for our daytime temps. Not a hint of rain so far all week ahead, so it’s going to be nothing but delightful. Lots of leaves falling but hard to imagine why because there really isn’t much color change in my area. Probably just dry leaves giving up the ghost. Makes for a messy driveway but after all, it is -and this is hard to believe – we are coming up to the end of September already. Colors should be showing up soon.

Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Sept Weather Week To Continue

Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Sept Weather Week To Continue

Currently 53 with an average wind from the SW of 6 mph. Feels like 53 degrees. Dew Point 50, Barometer 29.95, Humidity 90%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:34 am, Sunset 7:36 pm.

Sunny morning with some after noon clouds. High around 65 degrees. SW winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 25.

A few passing overnight clouds. Low 48. WSW winds 5 -10 mph.

Looks as if this coming week will stay pleasant with chilly nights and daytime temps in the 70s. Those cold nights are going to guarantee my furnace stays on. I’m pretty sure it will remain so until spring. Anything lower than 65 degrees and I’m simply too cold. It won’t need to kick on in the daytime, but boy do I appreciate the night time help for warmth.

Friday, Sept. 24, 2021-SW Michigan-Sun And Clouds Today

Friday, Sept. 24, 2021-SW Michigan-Sun And Clouds Today

Currently 67 with an average wind from the W of 4 mph. Feels like 67 degrees. Dew Point 47, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 50%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:33 am, Sunset 7:39 pm.

A mix of sun and clouds today with a high around 71. SW winds 10-20 mph.

90% chance of evening showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Low 52. SW winds 10-15 mph.

A delightful day today. Warmer than yesterday and it does look as if next week will be pretty much hovering in the 70 degree range. Not at all bad. And except for this evening it doesn’t appear as if any rain is in the forecast. At least not as of this moment. So – good weather to be out and about, enjoying the fresh air.

Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly, Rainy Day

Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly, Rainy Day

Currently 48 degrees with an average wind from the NW of 3 mph. Feels like 48 degrees. Dew Point 45, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 91%, Visibility 6 mi., Sunrise 7:32 am, Sunset 7:39 pm.

100% chance of rain today. High 52. NNW winds 15-25 pm.

50% chance of overnight rain. Low 47. WNW winds 10-15 mph.

Was cold this morning, will be cold all day long and will be cold  tonight. Our temperatures are way lower than what they should or could be. Tell you the truth, my heat is on. Turned it on low last night and kicked it up via the app on my phone before I made up my mind to get up (I do love technology) when I woke and decided it was way too cold in here.  It feels pretty good in here right now. Very soon I have to go out and about to tend to what needs to be done for the day and I’ll be out in the rain and cold, but hey…for now it’s okay. The furnace won’t stay on – I hope. Except, come to think of it, maybe during the night. Our daytime temperatures should rebound about 20+ degrees, but our night time temperatures look to be staying on the nippy side from now on. And it’s hard enough getting up in the morning as it is without trying to get up in a good house. So…I reckon, now that I think on it, my furnace is going to be sort of in service from now until Spring.

Nothing I hate worse than being cold.

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021-SW Michigan-Fall Bring Chilly Night Temperatures With It

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021-SW Michigan-Fall Bring Chilly Night Temperatures With It

Currently 53 with an average wind from the NNW of 7 mph. Feels like 53 degrees. Dew Point 48, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 83%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:31 am, Sunset 7:41 pm.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. High 61. NNE winds 15-25 mph.

Cloudy with a 60% chance of overnight rain. Low around 45 degrees. N winds 10-20 mph.

Nippy nights for the next couple of nights. Not going to warm up tremendously past that, either, but better than being in the 40 degree range. I’m just not ready for this. Never am. Chilly rains and chilly nights – not my thing.  At any rate, here we are starting Fall and we can expect such unhappy events. Until the real unhappiness starts with below freezing temperatures and snow.

Geez…I’m getting myself all depressed here. I’m going on to drink some coffee and think Spring.

Tuesday, Sept 21, 2021-SW Michigan-Looks Like We Could Finally Have A Rainy Day

Tuesday, Sept 21, 2021-SW Michigan-Looks Like We Could Finally Have A Rainy Day

Currently 70 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 71 degrees. Dew Point 67, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 96%, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 7:30 am, Sunset 7:43 pm.

Cloudy with a 90% chance of rain. High 69. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 becoming NW with gusts to 20 in the afternoon.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain. Low 51. N winds 10-15 mph.

Did find about .15″ of rain already in my gauge this morning, so hopefully by day’s end we should get something at least a little substantial. Maybe more tonight and there is a small possibility showing up almost every day until next Sunday. SO…hopeful we’ll be getting at least some precipitation by next weekend. So far, so good.
