Sunday, October 31, 2021-SW Michigan-Wonderfully Foggy Morning

Sunday, October 31, 2021-SW Michigan-Wonderfully Foggy Morning

Currently 45 with a calm wind from the NNW. Feels like 45 degrees. Dew Point 48, Humidity 48, Humidity 100%, Barometer 29.8, Visibility (well, here’s where it gets strange. All reporting stations are saying 10 mi….has anybody from the reporting stations been OUT there? Very foggy. I’d guess maybe tops, 6 mi. So I’m reporting) 6 mi., Sunrise 8:17 am, Sunset 6:37 pm.

Cloudy, foggy, misty. There is a 30% chance of a rain shower. High 53. NNW winds 10-20 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight. Low 36. WNW winds 10-15 mph.

Quite foggy out there this morning giving me a lot of great opportunity for pictures. Which I, of course, took. The end of October, Halloween, this is a fitting morning. Couldn’t ask for better. Looks to be a cold week coming at us with the Jet Stream taking a huge dip down into the country. Hope fully it will rethink that position in a week or so and get us back into something more comfortable, at least for awhile. It being November tomorrow, there’s no guarantee, but that’s my hope.

Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021-SW Michigan-Last of 50 Degree Days

Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021-SW Michigan-Last of 50 Degree Days

Currently 51 with an average wind from the N of 9 mph. Feels like 51 degrees. Dew Point 47, Humidity 88%, Barometer 29.66, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:16 am, Sunset 6:38 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of drizzle until about midday. High 54. N winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 25.

A few overnight clouds. Patchy fog through the night. Low 39. Light and variable winds.

Today and tomorrow may signal the end of our 50 degree days. The end of October, the end of 50 degrees. Seems fitting, doesn’t it?  All next week looks to be daytime 40 degrees with some freezing nights coming at us. Again, appropriate for the beginning of November. Hard to believe we’re entering into that month so soon. But such is the rule of things. Winter months always come around every year. Like it or not. Not that everyone is unhappy about that, but I definitely am among the number that is. Oh well…it’s going to be Spring before we know it.

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021-SW Michigan-A Rainy Friday

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021-SW Michigan-A Rainy Friday

Currently 51 with an average wind from the NE of 6 mph. Feels like 51 degrees. Dew Point 51, Humidity 100%, Barometer 29.62, Visibility 6 mi., Sunrise 8:14 am, Sunset 6:39 pm.

100% chance of a steady rain today. High 56. NE winds 10-20 mph.

50% chance of rain early becoming cloudy for the rest of the night. Low 48. NE winds 10-25 mph.

So far, it’s been a good steady, light rain. This weekend sound like a chance of some rain on Saturday but some sunshine on Sunday. We have a chilly week coming at us. Mostly 40 degree days and some nights getting down to the freezing mark. I guess today even with rain, but hovering in the 50s isn’t so bad.

Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021-SW Michigan-Rain Coming, Colder Weather Next Week

Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021-SW Michigan-Rain Coming, Colder Weather Next Week

Currently 51 with an average wind from the NE of 3 mph. Feels like 51 degrees. Dew Point 49, Humidity 92%, Barometer 29.79, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 8:13 am, Sunset 6:41 pm.

Cloudy today with a slight chance of rain. High 59. E winds 10-20 mph.

90% chance of overnight rain. Low 49. ENE with 10-15 mph.

The Jet Stream seems determined to take a deep dip down into the country very soon, leaving us out of the warm southern air and definitely into the colder air from the north. We will see some freezing nights next week, I imagine. I guess since it’s going to be November, it’s timely, but not so welcome for many of us.

Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021-SW Michigan-Nothing But Clouds

Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021-SW Michigan-Nothing But Clouds

Currently 35 with a calm wind. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 35, Humidity 96%, Barometer 30.09, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:12 am, Sunset 6:42 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high of 54. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

Cloudy overnight with a low of 47 degrees. E winds 5 -10 mph.

Not a pretty day by any means. Neither tomorrow or Friday promise to bright up, so maybe it will be the weekend before we get to see some sunshine again. Nothing too drastic as yet in our future, no bitter cold, no hard freeze…so far, so good. Until maybe about next week Wednesday. It’s the first time of the season that the words possible frozen mix make an appearance. The first of many ugly forms of weather we’re in store for. Personally, strongly thinking Spring already. Yeah, I know…a long way off. Thinking it anyway.

Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021-SW Michigan-Sunny October Day

Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021-SW Michigan-Sunny October Day

Currently 35 with an average wind from the N of 6 mph. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 37, Humidity 98%, Barometer 30.12, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:10 am, Sunset 6:44 pm.

Mostly sunny today. High 53. N winds 10-15 mph.

Clear overnight. Low 31. Light and variable winds.

We’re at the time of year when a sunny day won’t necessarily guarantee a warm day, just a bright one. I think our warm days are gone for the duration. Alas…Had another .68″ of rain in the gauge this morning. Almost an inch and a half altogether from the last system that passed by. Nice to have sunshsine today to lift out spirits and dry things out a bit again before more rain comes in later this week. As it definitely will.

Monday, Oct. 25, 2021-SW Michigan-A Rainy Monday

Monday, Oct. 25, 2021-SW Michigan-A Rainy Monday

Currently 44 with an average wind from the N of 1 mph. Feels like 44 degrees. Dew Point 44, Humidity 99%, Barometer 29.84, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 8:09 am, Sunset 6:45 pm.

100% chance of rain today. High 48. NNE winds 15-25 with higher gusts possible.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low of 37. N winds 10-20 mph.

A chilly wet morning and it appears this will be our condition all day long. Measured .66″ of rain this morning an hour or so ago when I went out to feed the birds and critters. Look forward to tomorrow. So far, the forecast of sunshine tomorrow is still holding. Fingers crossed it will continue. So gloomy that I figured it would be a good day to post Glenn’s double rainbow picture. Brightens things up a bit, doesn’t it? Lovely.

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilling Down

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilling Down

Currently 46 with an average wind from the E of 5 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 43, Humidity 87%, Barometer 30.04, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:08 am, Sunset 6:47 pm.

Partly cloudy morning, clouding up more as the day advances. A slight chance of a rain shower. High 52. E winds 5 -10 mph.

100% chance of overnight rain. Low 43. ENE winds 15-25 mph.

It was only 29 degrees this morning when I went out to feed the birds and critters. Already too chilly for me…and this is only the beginning. Looks to be a week ahead of 40 degree days and 30 degree nights. Seasonal as we are fast approaching November. Hard to believe, but we are.

Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021-SW Michigan-Nicely Foggy Morning

Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021-SW Michigan-Nicely Foggy Morning

Currently 44 with an average wind from the SW of 6 mph. Feels like 44 degrees. Dew Point 43, Humidity 94%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:07 am, Sunset 6:48 pm.

Partly to mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of light rain until about midday. High 51. W winds 5 -10 mph.

A few passing overnight clouds with patchy frost possible. Low 34. Light and variable winds.

A quiet, secretive morning. Mist and fog making everything muted and soft. One of my favorite sort of mornings to tell you the truth. By now both are lifting and lightening so it’s going to turn into a rather cloudy day. At least the temperature ia going to make it up into the fifties. Barely, but still…First mention of frost creeping into the forecast and it won’t be long before that will be commonplace. So far, mostly 50 degree days and nothing directly into the freezing zone as yet during our night time hours. Coming, but not here yet.

Friday, Oct. 22, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly October Morning

Friday, Oct. 22, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly October Morning

Currently 40 with an average wind from the NE of 1 mph. Feels like 40 degrees. Dew Point 40, Humidity 93%, Barometer 30.07, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:05 am, Sunset 6:50 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a rain shower. High 48. Light and variable winds.

Cloudy overnight with a low of 38. Light and variable.

No overnight freezing in sight yet but can’t be all that far off. Chilly mornings make getting up a tad less inviting for those able to stay in a warm bed as long as possible. Unless you have a cat or a dog who insists that routine be adhered to regardless of comfort levels.

Our Autumn has been a warm one so far and our leaf peeping minimal due to lack of brilliance in color. Leaves are falling still green or looking a dead brown at best. Some color is showing up and will show up but it had best hustle along in order not to get buried under ice or snow, which is bound to show up eventually. This is actually what worries me…heavy snow on trees still hanging on to leaves makes for broken limbs and power outages. Hopefully the harsh weather will hold off until the trees decide to shed their foliage. Looking good so far. No wintry weather in our forecast even though it’s starting to show up far too often out west. Which means sooner or later…
