Monday, July 31, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Closing Off July With A Perfect Day

Monday, July 31, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Closing Off July With A Perfect Day

Currently 64 degrees with a SW wind of 4 mph playing nice and leaving it to feel like 64. Dew Point 58, Humidity 81%, Barometer 30.16 & rising, Visibility 9 mi. A mostly sunny day with a high around 85. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clear skies tonight, low 59. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Hard to believe this is the last day of July. Summer is flying by. Our weather continues to be excellent. Can’t ask for better summer weather than this. So far very few day have edged up into the too hot area, or dropped down into the too chilly level. We could definitely use more rain here, but hopefully some will eventually come along.

Sunday, July 30, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Today Identical To Yesterday

Sunday, July 30, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Today Identical To Yesterday

What on earth is this? Looks like a leaf with legs and it’s perched on the top of my hummingbird feeder.

Currently 65 degrees with a NNE wind of 8 mph not making a shred of difference, so it feels like 65. Dew Point 52, Humidity 62%, Barometer 30.11 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Sunny with a high of 83. NE winds 5 – 10 mph.

A clear sky. Low 58. NE wind 5 – 10 mph.

Had to double check to see if everyone was simply saving time by recycling yesterday’s weather. Nope. Today is a carbon copy of yesterday. A wonderful day – twice. Can’t ask for more than that. So I won’t.

Looks like the possibility of rain moving in later in the week and we can certainly use some, so no problem with that, either. So, I guess it’s all good.

Saturday, July 29, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Perfect Summer Weather

Saturday, July 29, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Perfect Summer Weather

Currently 66 degrees with a NNE wind of 8 mph staying on its own side of things, so it feels exactly like the 66 degrees it is. Dew Point 52, Humidity 61%, Barometer 30.11 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Sunny today with a high of 83. ENE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clear skies tonight with a low of 58. NE winds 5 – 10 mph.

The last Saturday of July already. Where is the summer going? Our weather is in a cool pattern. In fact, the past few nights I’ve turned off the little fan I have by the upstairs bedroom window as it gets downright chilly. Feels almost cool enough to call it early fall. Nice sleeping. At any rate, our weather simply could not be more comfortable and agreeable. Nicely done, Mother Nature.

Friday, July 28, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Pleasant Sums It Up

Friday, July 28, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Pleasant Sums It Up

Currently 72 with a NE wind of 10 mph playing nice and leaving it be, so it feels like 72. Dew point 60, Humidity 66%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 10 mi. Partly cloudy today with a high of 79. ENE winds 10 – 20 mph.

Clear overnight skies with a low of 55. NE winds 10 – 15 mph.

This, so far, has been a rather nondescript summer. Nice, but nothing wild going on. Not that we need wild, but with all the crazy weather happening all over the place, we seem to be a small island of normal. Or just left out. At any rate, the humidity is low, the temperature is about ideal, and it’s a grand day here in my little corner of the island. :>)

Thursday, July 27, 2017 Southwest Michgian – Again Rain Missed Us

Thursday, July 27, 2017 Southwest Michgian – Again Rain Missed Us

I keep finding things that look like Dr. Seuss worlds.

Currently 72 with a NNE wind of 7 mph not making one iota of difference, so it feels like 72. Dew Point 69, Humidity 90%, Barometer 29.91 & falling, Visibility 9 mi. Cloudy with the small chance of a shower becoming partly cloudy. High around 85. ENE winds 5 – 10 mph.

A few clouds tonight with a low of 60. ENE 5 – 10 mph.

So, once again the rain missed us. No surprise there but we sure could use a few drops. Doesn’t look, past today, as if there’s a chance for the entire next week. I know there are other parts of the country getting tons of rain, to the point of dreadful floods, but not here. Sorry for them ’cause I’ve lived through floods, and they are horrible. It would certainly be nice if the weather could somehow even out and be fair to all. If wishes could make it so….

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Rain Possible

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Rain Possible

Looks like Dr. Seuss worlds.

Currently 68 with a S wind of 8 mph unconcerned so it feels like the 68 that it is. Dew Point 61, Humidity 77 %, Barometer 30.09 & falling, Visibility 10 mi. Partly to mostly cloudy with the chance of a stray thunderstorm. High 84. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Cloudy skies overnight with a 30% chance of rain. Low 68. S winds 5 – 10 mph.

The ‘partly’ cloudy sky this morning has already progressed to the ‘mostly’ cloudy version. Feels like it might rain. Looks like it might rain. So….who knows? For us it’s a grab bag of whatever. It could rain circles around us and we’d stay dry. We seem to be in a weird little pocket where things just miss us. Not a bad place to be for the most part, I guess. But I would like to see some rain here.

Tuesday, July 25, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Pleasant Weather Continues

Tuesday, July 25, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Pleasant Weather Continues

Currently 65 degrees with a S wind of 4 mph uninterested, leaving it to be as it is, 65 degrees. Dew Point 57, Humidity 76%, Barometer 30.19 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Partly cloudy with a high of 82. S winds 5 – 10 mph.

A few passing clouds, low overnight of 61. S winds 5 – 10 mph.

Another lovely, cool morning. Feels fresh and pleasant outside, and since my windows are wide open, inside, too. I wish these days could go on for about ever. It’s going to be a good day to get outside and do a little tidying up. The ivy growing by my front door is exploding and threatening, at this point, to grow right on into the living room. So, I hate to dampen its plans, but it’s destined to be cut back this very day. In the meantime, we shall enjoy this delightful weather until the rains come along….probably Thursday, the way it looks.

Monday, July 24, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Cooler Day For Us

Monday, July 24, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Cooler Day For Us

Currently 64 degrees with a North wind of 10 mph dropping that to feeling like 63. Dew Point 56, Humidity 77%, Barometer 29.94 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Partly cloudy today with a high of 79. NNE winds 10 – 20 mph.

Partly cloudy, low 54. E wind 5 – 10 mph.

Feels so different this morning with the lower temperature and lower humidity. Cool and rather refreshing. Looking ahead, it appears we may have a decent week coming up with the temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Can’t ask for much better than this. I can’t, anyway. About perfect.

Sunday, July 23, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Pleasant Day After Light Morning Rain

Sunday, July 23, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Pleasant Day After Light Morning Rain

Little rabbit ‘hiding’ in the backyard.

Currently 75 degrees with a W wind of 6 mph disinclined to participate, so it feels like the 75 that it is. Dew Point 68, Humidity 80%, Barometer 29.76 & falling, Visibility 10 mi. Cloudy skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of a stray severe t-storm showing up.

A few overnight clouds. Low 62. NW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Had very light rain this morning, measured only .02″ in the gauge. It’s clearing up nicely, with the air feeling fresh and the humidity less than it’s been of late. A nice day coming together.

Saturday, July 22 2017 Southwest Michigan – Once Again Rain Eluded My Area

Saturday, July 22 2017 Southwest Michigan – Once Again Rain Eluded My Area

Currently 74 degrees with an E wind of 7 mph not engaged, so it feels just like the 74 that it is. Dew Point 69, Humidity 93%, Barometer 29.76 & falling, Visibility 9 mi. Cloudy today with the possibility of a stray thunderstorm. High 82. ENE 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 67. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

So…yesterday, once again, there was an enormous mass of multi-colored moisture on the radar that almost totally managed to miss us. Seriously. How does this keep happening?  I measured .01″ of rain in the gauge this morning. Crazy. Looking at that map last night, there appeared to be no way on earth we wouldn’t be included in some of that. I guess there was a way, ’cause we were not to be a part of it. Now what I really, truly want to see is this pattern to continue on through the coming winter. I’d love to be able to say, each and every morning, well…..again all that big blob of wintry precipitation completely missed us. Yeah…we’ll see how it goes. In the meantime, plenty of rain falling to the south of us, but here? Not so much.
