Sunday, April 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Miserable Spring Weather

Sunday, April 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Miserable Spring Weather

Currently 39 with an average wind from the SSW of 2 mph. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 38, Humidity 92%, Barometer 29.32, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:37 am, Sunset 8:42 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. High in the upper 40s. SW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy with a 90% chance of rain – possibly mixed with snow. Low in the mid 30s. W winds 5-15 mph.

This is becoming crazy. Rain possibly mixed with snow? And again around Tuesday – that’s in the month of MAY, for goodness sake. I have to say, except for the few exceptions where we had lovely warm – even a few days of hot – temperatures, this has been the worst spring I can remember. In fact, to call it spring would be really pushing things. My hope continues that eventually we will see an end to this mess and nice weather will descend on us with the intention of sticking around.  This isn’t that time. Unfortunately.

Saturday, April 29, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Morning But Then…

Saturday, April 29, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Morning But Then…

Currently 50 with an average wind from the SW of 2 mph. Feels like 52, Dew Point 47, Humidity 74%, Barometer 29.59, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:39 am, Sunset 8:40 pm.

Partly sunny until midday then cloudy with a 90% chance of afternoon rain. High around 60. W winds around 10 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper30s. SW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

This is a fine morning we have going for us but things will go downhill later on. Tomorrow and Monday won’t be anything likeable. Tuesday still too chilly but maybe no rain. Could be plenty of wind though – that will be okay if it’s helping to blow the miserable weather out of our picture. Hopefully – and I keep saying this – this will be the last of the ugly, chilly weather. Things simply have to improve and warm up. I think that might begin about midweek coming at us. Fingers crossed, of course.

Friday, April 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Well, Yesterday Was A Delight

Friday, April 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Well, Yesterday Was A Delight

Currently 50 with an average wind from the SW of 4 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 36, Humidity 60%, Barometer 29.77, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:40 am, Sunset 8:39 pm.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. High in the upper 50s. NE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain. Low in the mid 40s. NE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Couldn’t have been a better day than yesterday. But that was then, this is now. The entire coming week, with few exceptions, is going to be a rainy one. The temperatures should be better than this weekend – we’re going to be seeing several days with a high only in the 40s. But nothing balmy coming our way, either. We seem to be hovering in some zone between lousy and just slightly improved. The sooner we travel on out of this spot, the better. The best thing to say is things are greening up. Slowly, but surely. In other words, nothing spectacular on the way real soon. However, we did have yesterday, didn’t we?

Thursday, April 27, 2023-SW Michigan-The Best Weather Of The Week

Thursday, April 27, 2023-SW Michigan-The Best Weather Of The Week

Currently 41 with an average wind from the ESE 2 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dewe Point 35, Humidity 70%, Barometer 30., Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:42 am, Sunset 8:38 pm.

Sunny with a high in the lower 60s. S winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 40s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Today is a beauty. In fact, it’s the best day we’re going to see for a while, so get out there and enjoy it best you can. Plenty of sunshine and a comfortable temperature. Very pleasant. Tomorrow morning shouldn’t be all bad either. The rest of the week? A great time to tend to inside stuff. Today, head outside and soak up that sunshine.

Wednesday, April 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Wish Forecast Was Better

Wednesday, April 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Wish Forecast Was Better

Currently 36 with an average wind from the NW of 4 mph. Feels like 32 degrees. Dew Point 30, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.15, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:43 am, Sunset 8:37 pm.

Sunny today with a high around 50. NW winds 5-15 mph.

Mostly clear with widespread overnight frost. Low in the lower 30s. NW winds 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

Mades me sad to admit it but I have nothing positive to post other than today’s sunshine. Looking like a cool, rainy weekend on tap and still appearing as if the last day of April and the first day of May will be hovering in the 40-degree range.  I keep saying eventually things will improve but as optimistic as I am about it all, even I am running on empty about now. All we can do is sit back and watch whatever unfolds. But man…I sure wish some warm weather would unfold and stay with us. Again, all I can say is eventually.

Tuesday, April 25, 2023-SW Michigan-This Just Isn’t Right

Tuesday, April 25, 2023-SW Michigan-This Just Isn’t Right

Currently 36 with an average wind from the NE of 3 mph. Feels like 32 degrees. Dew Point 32, Humidity 100%, Barometer 30.06, Visibility 1 mi., Sunrise 6:45 am, Sunset 8:36 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and snow until midday becoming all rain in the afternoon. High in the upper 40s. Light winds.

Mostly cloudy with widespread frost overnight. Low in the upper 20s. N winds around 10 mph.

I don’t care what anyone says, this is just not right! This is near the end of April and there’s something so wrong with standing at the kitchen sink, sipping morning coffee and watching snowflakes falling down.  Although we will see mostly 50-degree days coming up, April will end and May will begin with days in the 40s. There is NO way to see anything good about this. I can hardly wait until we get to the part where we can be saying, “Remember how cold it was last spring?” while we’re enjoying 70- and 80-degree days with glorious sunshine falling down all over us. Eventually…

Monday, April 24, 2023-SW Michigan-Ye Gods…Winter Refuses To Leave

Monday, April 24, 2023-SW Michigan-Ye Gods…Winter Refuses To Leave

Currently 39 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 28, Humidity 57, Barometer 30.04, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:46 am, Sunset 8:35 pm.

Partly sunny until midday then mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain showers. High in the upper 40s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of snow showers. Widespread frost overnight. Low in the lower 30s. NW winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

It’s maddening to say chance of snow showers overnight and a chance of frozen mix tomorrow. This is getting way beyond tiresome. I don’t even want to think about it or write about it. So I’m making one up – ‘Today will be a cozy 78 with a light breeze from the south. Tonight will be a comfortable 58 with tomorrow promising brilliant sunshine and 80 degrees.’  There. Too bad Mother Nature is being so stingy with decent weather that we have to make up our own. And if I had my druthers, I’d choose mine over hers with 100% certainty. Since here in the real world I don’t have this option, I’m stuck with chilly and unseasonable weather. And, alas, so are you.

Sunday, April 23, 2023-SW Michigan-No Big Warm Up In Sight

Sunday, April 23, 2023-SW Michigan-No Big Warm Up In Sight

Currently 36 with an average wind 3 mph from the WSW. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 34, Humidity 94%, Barometer 29.85, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:48 am, Sunset 8:34 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of some afternoon sprinkles. High in the mid 40s. W winds 10-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with widespread frost throughout the night. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 10 mph.

This is getting just a tad tiresome, but looking ahead I don’t see anything too warm moving in as far as temperatures. We’ll get mostly days in the 50 degrees range, but if we get anything better than that, it will be a surprise. This is going to put the entire month of April right in the pocket where March is hiding in shame. I guess our hope now is in the month of May. Frankly, and honestly, I’m not holding out a whole lot of hope. Maybe a little, ’cause I can’t help it, but….Just don’t be too hasty putting away those jackets for a while.  In the meantime, things are gradually greening up – thank goodness for that at least. We’ll simply have to chalk this spring up as a lost cause this year and hopefully next year will be kinder to us.

Saturday, April 22, 2023-SW Michigan-Maybe Some Rain Today

Saturday, April 22, 2023-SW Michigan-Maybe Some Rain Today

Currently 43 with an average wind from the WSW of 4 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 33, Humidity 68, Barometer 29.68, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:49 am, Sunset 8:32 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain. High in the upper 40s. W winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy. Low in the mid 30s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 20.

Tomorrow might be a better day. And it looks like some sunshine coming next week. Not every day will be sunny and bright, but even a handful at this point is welcome. Just not a ‘real’ spring this time around and I, personally, have been missing the real thing. Maybe next year? A long time to wait for what is usually my favorite season. I guess at this point I’ll be hoping for a decent summer.

Friday, April 21, 2023-SW Michigan-Looking Like A Pleasant Day

Friday, April 21, 2023-SW Michigan-Looking Like A Pleasant Day

Currently 45 with an average wind from the SW of 4 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 41, Barometer 29.84, Humidity 88%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:51 am, Sunset 8:31 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high in the upper 50s. Sw winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the lower 40s. SW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Nothing drastic, but a gradual warm up seems to be in our cards. Next week we should see more sunshine than rain and that’s refreshing in itself. Today sounds as if it will be dry but perhaps not so much tonight or tomorrow. Sunday, as of right now, is looking good. A tad on the cool side, but dry – and these days that’s a bonus.
