Friday, June 30 Southwest Michigan – Sort Of Stuffy Day Going On

Friday, June 30 Southwest Michigan – Sort Of Stuffy Day Going On

Currently 65 with a SSW wind of 8 mph hardly bothering to look at the number, so the 65 is exactly how it feels. Dew Point65, Humidity 98%, Barometer 29.82 & rising, Visibility 7 mi. We have a cloudy, humid day going with a 40% chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms. High 82. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

50% chance of scattered thunderstorms early this evening, low in the mid 60s. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Very close feeling today. Sticky already and I suspect it will get worse as the day progresses. It’s not unbearable and our temperatures predicting to be hovering in the lower 80s rather than the upper, will be helping with that.  And I’m not complaining anyway. A couple of days last week I was ready to put on a sweater…yeah, I know…but when the temperature gets to 60, this old gal is cold. The 80s, that’s where I’m the most comfortable. Or at least upper 70s.  I so love summer!

Thursday June 29 Southwest Michigan – Drying Out From Overnight Rain

Thursday June 29 Southwest Michigan – Drying Out From Overnight Rain

Currently 67 with a WWS wind of 13 mph not making any difference so that it feels like the 67 degrees it is. Dew Point 64, Humidity 90%, Barometer 29.74 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Cloudy with a possibility of a stray shower or thunderstorms. High 81. WSW winds 15 – 25 mph.

60% chance of overnight rain. Low 66. SW winds 10 – 20 mph.

Got a little over an inch of rain last night and more coming tonight/tomorrow. Looks like things will be fairly well dampened down around here before the 4th of July onslaught of wild fireworks. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sight and sound of them, but what I don’t like is the airhead person often behind firing them off who doesn’t seem to have a care in the world beyond lighting that fuse. That’s a big problem. Too many of them, every year. Maybe this year someone wiser will hide their matches and lighters. You think? No, me neither. Alas….

Wednesday June 28 Southwest Michigan – Got Some Rain Heading Our Way

Wednesday June 28 Southwest Michigan – Got Some Rain Heading Our Way

Currently 64 with a S wind of 10 mph flitting about making it feel like 63. Dew Point 50, Humidity 62%, Barometer 30.03 & falling, Visibility 10 mi. Going from a partly cloudy morning to a mostly cloudy afternoon with  70% chance of rain. High 76. S winds  10 – 20 mph.

50% chance of overnight rain. Thunderstorms expected with some locally heavy rainfall. Low 67. SSW winds 15 – 25 mph.

Looks like a pretty good chance of some rain coming in for us. That’s okay. Face it, there is the 4th of July coming up and the more moisture we can get to dampen things down before hand the better. There always seem to be the nitwits eager to shoot off blazing fireworks into the trees – tinder dry or not – and so to ward off possible problems, bring on the rain.  ‘Cause the nitwits sure aren’t going to go anywhere, they’re always with us, no matter where.

Watched a couple of bunnies in the backyard this morning. One is so funny, she comes right up to my patio where I have a tiny square of wild flowers growing and she almost stands on tiptoe to look toward my kitchen window to see if I’m watching, or going to be a problem,  then stretches over the little fence to munch of the greenery in there. I don’t care. Frankly, I think the bunny is as much fun to watch as the flowers blooming, so let it be is fine with me.

Tuesday, June 27 Southwest Michigan – Still Cool But Sunny

Tuesday, June 27 Southwest Michigan – Still Cool But Sunny

Currently 59 degrees with a WSW wind of 10 mph playing around with that number enough to drop it to feeling like 57. Dew Point 52, Humidity 79%, Barometer 30.07 & rising, Visibility 9 mi. Plenty of sunshine today with a high of 72. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

A few passing clouds tonight. Low 53. SSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Still feeling like fall out there to me, but the sky is clear and the sun is shining. Makes for a pretty morning and it’s going to warm up – not quite as up as I’d like it, but close. Enough to be comfortable, anyway. And no rain in sight for the day. Should be lovely.

Monday, June 26 Southwest Michigan – Chilly With Trace Of Rain

Monday, June 26 Southwest Michigan – Chilly With Trace Of Rain

Currently 58 degrees with a W wind of 12 mph knocking that down to feeling like 56. Dew Point 50, Humidity 75%, Barometer 30.03 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Supposed to end up with a partly cloudy day and a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High 64. W winds 15 -25 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 47. WNW winds 10 – 20 mph.

Getting a wee bit of cold rain this morning, just enough to put splotches on the car – certainly not enough to wash it off. And it’s really chilly outside this morning. Heading for comforter comfort tonight with a low in the 40s. Now we all know this is not my idea of summer weather. Way off the mark for my taste. I need 20 degrees tacked on both day and night temps to be where I want them to be. Does any one listen? Do I get a say in the matter? Not so I’ve noticed. Darn.

Sunday, June 25 Southwest Michigan – Feeling Chilly Out There

Sunday, June 25 Southwest Michigan – Feeling Chilly Out There

Currently 64 with a WSW wind of 17 mph making it feel more like 60. Dew Point 51. Dew Point 51, Humidity 65%, Barometer 30.00 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Considerable cloudiness with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm today. High 66. W winds 15 – 25 mph.

A few overnight clouds with a low of 53. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

Sure feels like fall out there this morning and I’m not liking that at all. Closed some of the windows that I prefer to have open ’cause it’s too cold in here for me. I do, much, prefer the warmth. To me, it feels as if there’s going to be precipitation today, it’s going to come in the form of snow. Well, maybe not but….

Saturday, June 24 Southwest Michigan – Very Pleasant Day In Progress

Saturday, June 24 Southwest Michigan – Very Pleasant Day In Progress

Currently 66 with a W wind of 10 mph not tinkering with that number, so it feels exactly like 66 degrees. Dew Point 57, Humidity 71%, Barometer 29.84 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Some sunshine today with a 30% chance of a shower or thunderstorm possible this afternoon. Hi 71. W wind 15 – 25.

Partly cloudy tonight with a slight chance of a stray shower to t-storm possible. Low 53. W wind 10 – 20 mph.

What a wonderful morning! The air feels fresh and clean, the humidity is low compared to what we’ve been dealing with, and the sun is shining. What more could one ask for? Nothing as far as I can see.

Friday, June 23 Southwest Michigan – Rainy Morning, Partly Cloudy Afternoon

Friday, June 23 Southwest Michigan – Rainy Morning, Partly Cloudy Afternoon

Currently 67 with a N wind of 9 mph not tinkering with that number. Still feels like 67. Dew Point 67, Humidity 100%, Barometer 29.60 & falling, Visibility 5 mi. 100% chance of morning rain should become a partly cloudy afternoon with a high of 81. NW winds 10 – 20 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low 57. WNW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Another 1.08″ of rain since yesterday. We’re getting a goodly amount here of late. Not nearly as much as the southern states are getting, but enough to green things up again, which is much appreciated. The air is very heavy and close this morning but since I got my electric bill the other day, me and the A/C aren’t going to be such good buddies anymore. Going back to the fans and open window and affordable electric bills :>) Thank goodness I’m not living where that heat is so oppressive lately. It has to be unbearable living in 100+ degree heat day after day. To say nothing of expensive :>)

Thursday, June 22 Southwest Michigan – Clouds, Maybe Some Rain

Thursday, June 22 Southwest Michigan – Clouds, Maybe Some Rain

Currently 76 degrees with a SW wind of 10 mph not impressing the temperature controller, so it’s remaining steady at 76. Dew Point 65, Humidity 83%, Barometer 29.80 & falling, Visibility 10 mi.  A bit of variety in the forecast today depending on which source I check. Trying to wrap it all together it would appear as if we will be dealing with mostly clouds and a 40% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. High in the upper 80s. SW winds 15 – 25 mph with gusts to 30.

70% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low upper 60s. SW winds 5 – 15 mph with gusts to 25.

The picture is from Tuesday. Thank goodness someone else was driving because I was so enthralled with the cloud formations and snapping pictures, I likely would not have survived the day had I been behind the wheel.

Starting out with plenty of clouds this morning, not much looking as if they want to clear out any time soon. So I’m betting we’ll be getting at least some rain today or tonight – maybe both. We can still use more rain here. Quite unlike the south that’s getting inundated with rain from that tropical storm invading their territory. Hoping for the best for them. And doesn’t it seem as if the ‘storm’ season down there is starting early this year? Might be an interesting season coming up. And I say that as a weather observer, not as someone who would particularly enjoying living in the midst of it.

Wednesday, June 21 Southwest Michigan – Happy First Day Of Summer

Wednesday, June 21 Southwest Michigan – Happy First Day Of Summer

Currently 63 with a W wind of about 1mph not budging that number. Dew Point 59, Humidity 86%, Barometer 29.98 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. A sunny day with only a few clouds passing by, high 79. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Starting out partly cloudy tonight becoming cloudy with a 100% chance of rain. Low 61, SSE winds 5 – 10 mph.

What a glorious day to have as the ‘official’ beginning of summer. although we ALL know, summer starts June 1 and goes to Sept. 1…..the heck with the calendar.  Anyway, it’s a perfect day. Not too hot or cold, sunny and pleasant. A happy start to a wonderful summer season to you!

Ended up with a mere .03″ of rain from yesterday. None expected today.
