Mostly cloudy overnight. Low around 25. NW winds 4 mph.

We could seriously get 1-2″ of snow today. It won’t last, but just the fact that we’re getting it is not happy news to many of us. Nothing here in my little back yard yet this morning but I feel like it’s coming. Ending October on a wintry note…wonder what November will be bringing us?

Monday, Oct. 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Getting Downright Cold

Monday, Oct. 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Getting Downright Cold

Currently 36 with an average wind from the SW of 4 mph. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 31, Humidity 76%, Barometer 29.96, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:14 am, Sunset 6:37 pm.

Mostly cloudy today with a high around 38. NW winds 12 mph.

Mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 32. NW winds 4 mph.

The strong cold front pushing down from the north is getting our attention. And although we may see some snowflakes mixed in with some rain, we seem to be able to avoid the heavy snow to the west and to the east of us. That is fine for most of us. We can wait. We know eventually we’ll be getting our share of the heavy snowfall but putting it off for now is a good thing. At least in my book. In the meantime, several really chilly days and nights, no avoiding that.

Might as well get ready, it’s going to get downright cold. And still looking for the chance of seeing some snowflakes mixed in with cold rain this coming week. Dang. I’m never ready.

Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Weekend

Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Weekend

Currently 45 with an average wind from the ESE of 3 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 38, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 7%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:11 am, Sunset 6:40 pm.

Today should be fairly decent. Maybe even Sunday. But beware Tuesday’s weather. Could well see a snowflake among the cold rain, so it won’t be much of a great day to be out and about. Guess this weekend is as good as we’re going to be getting for a while.

Friday, Oct. 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Down On The Way

Friday, Oct. 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Down On The Way

Currently 63 with an average wind from the WSW of 6 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 62, Barometer 29.81, Humidity 90%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:10 am, Sunset 6:41 pm

Mostly cloudy with a 70% chance of overnight rain. Low around 44. NW winds 11 mph.

Might as well get ready for it, several days from now our temperature could be about 30 degrees less than what we have going on today. And there is still the possibility of seeing some snowflakes mixed in with the rain about next Tuesday. No big snowfall like what is happening out in the western states – than goodness. Much too early for that here. Will happen eventually but for now snowflakes along with the rain will do to remind us that the winter season is on its way.

Rainy but not too chilly as yet. Just wait. By Sunday – seriously – we’re looking at a wintery mix already. That cold air is still keeping us in the bullseye, and it will bring precipitation along with it. Chance of a dry Saturday, that’s something, anyway. We take what we get and be thankful for the drier days now.

Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023-SW Michigan-Going To Get Colder

Cloudy with a 70% chance of rain. Low around 57. S winds around 6 mph.

That persistent cold front dropping down from the north refuses to dissipate. It’s going to eventually get to our area. Some days next week looking to be only in the 30-degree range. Might even see a snowflake mixed in with rain now and again. I guess it’s that time of year. But man, I do hate the thought of it.

Tuesday, Oct. 24,2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today, Going To Get Cooler And Wetter

Tuesday, Oct. 24,2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today, Going To Get Cooler And Wetter

Currently 54 with an average wind from the SW of 2 mph. Feels like 54 degrees. Dew Point 46, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 59%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:06 am, Sunset 6:45 pm.

Partly cloudy today with a high around 72. SW winds 11 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 25% chance of overnight rain. Low around 59. SW winds 14 mph.

Not a bad day today with comfortable temperatures. This won’t last. Look for the temperature to start to tumble with rain moving in by tomorrow. There is a strong cold front coming down from Canada and Alaska that will eventually bring us into the fold. Starting out very chilly out in the western states and they are looking at some very real numbers as far as snowfall is concerned. None of that for us for now. Lower temperatures for sure but no snow in sight for us. Eventually this will come around but not quite yet for Michigan. But if you enjoy 70-degree days, this is the one to be out and about and be happy in. By next week we could be looking at numbers 40 degrees lower.

Monday, Oct. 23, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today And Tomorrow

Monday, Oct. 23, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today And Tomorrow

Currently 39 with an average wind from the S of 1 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 30.07, Humidity 83%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:05 am, Sunset 6:47 pm.

Partly cloudy with a high around 54. Winds from the S of about 6 mph.

Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of overnight showers. Low 47. S winds 9 mph.

Yesterday turned into a grand day to be out and about looking at leaf color. Today and tomorrow promise to be rain free for those who can be out and about, but after that it appears as if rain is setting in for about ever. Off and on, at least. Tomorrow sounds like a great day to be out enjoying fall conditions. At least we don’t have the snow that’s already putting in an appearance off to the west. Substantial snow, at that. Hopefully, ours will hold off as long as possible. It’s inevitable that we’ll get our share but let’s keep our fingers crossed that time doesn’t come around any time soon.

Oct. 22, 2023-SW Michigan-Pleasant Enough Sunday Weather

Oct. 22, 2023-SW Michigan-Pleasant Enough Sunday Weather

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SE of 5 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 36, Barometer 29.95, Humidity 70%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:04 am, Sunset 6:48 pm.

Partly cloudy today with a high around 48. NW winds 6 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low around 35. W winds 2 mph.

No rain today. A good day to be out and about leaf peeping. Without the sunshine, things aren’t as bright as they could be, but the color is mostly out there looking fall-like. It appears as if Monday and perhaps Tuesday will be rain free but after that all bets are off for the rest of the week. I guess a good time to be out looking at color might be about now before wind and rain knocks a lot of it to the ground.
