More rain today but tomorrow should be dry. Looks like Monday, too. After that, grab your umbrella cause the rain will surely return. Evidently for most of the week. Should be one dreary, dismal bunch of days. Sort of the October way here in Michigan. Alas….

Today’s picture is courtesy of Glenn’s commute to work, before the rain started.

Looks like a chilly rain tomorrow but so far Sunday is looking dry. Maybe even Monday. After that it appears we will have a constant week of rain. Sounds rather dismal, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, we have no way to change that picture, so just be ready in case. And be glad it isn’t snow, I guess.

Looks as if the jet stream is going to be keeping our temperatures in the 50 – 60-degree range heading into the last of October. Rain off and on, of course, because that’s what October brings. Seems as if this batch might last until Sunday, so a few days of rain for us. Sunday is still looking good though.  Just, in the meantime, plan around the rain.

Well into the last half of October and our predictions for winter are all over the place. Some warmer and dryer, some colder with more precipitation. In other words, we have no idea of what our winter will be other than the fact that this is Michigan and winter will have its turn at us. Best idea is to prepare for the worst, hope for the best and think Spring. In the meantime, we have Fall to get through. The favorite season of many folk. Not mine, but I’m way outnumbered on that subject. So if you are a fan, do go forth and watch colored dead leaves litter the countryside. At least between rainy days.  Doesn’t last long and it is here now.

Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly Rain For Us Today

Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly Rain For Us Today

Currently 63 with an average wind from the SSE of 3 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 62, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 100%, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 7:43 am, Sunset 7:16 pm.

Partly cloudy tonight with a 40% chance of showers and a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the evening. Low around 50. SW winds 5-10 mph.

Not a pleasant day for someone who enjoys sunshine and hot weather. A find day to stay inside and read. Which is my entire plan for the day. My advice to everyone is do NOT get Covid. Tested positive Wednesday morning and with the headache and fuzzy thinking, just typing this is a challenge and a chore. So, I shall close this up. Find a book and a rocking chair and try to read and nap. Hopefully nap.

Looks as if we could have rain for at least part of the next 4 days. With a sharp temperature drop to go with it. Nothing much to add to that as none of it sounds good to me. Alas…such is life.

Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Warm While We Have it

Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoy Warm While We Have it

Sunny today with a high in the mid 80s. S winds 5-15 mph.

Clear in the evening becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low in the lower60s. S winds around 10 mph.

Should probably use today and tomorrow to get ready for the cold front that’s going to sweep in and blow away our lovely warm temperatures.  Thursday is going to present an entirely different picture. Look for cold rain and cold temperatures to move in. Just yesterday it looked as if the rain would end by the end of Saturday. Now, unfortunately, it appears as if it’s going to extend right on into Sunday. I hope not, but at the moment that’s what seems to be in store for us. At least we have this little window giving us time to gather up the jackets and chilly weather gear. Alas….it’s that time of year.

Monday, Oct. 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Another Lovely Day

Monday, Oct. 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Another Lovely Day

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SSE of 2 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 59, Barometer 30.12, Humidity 75%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 7:22 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the lower 80s. SW winds 5-10 mph.

Clear overnight with a low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Still looking at three terrific days this week – until we get to Thursday. Probably rain and temperatures tumbling 20 degrees. Appears to be the possibility of rain Thursday through Saturday leaving us with temperatures in the 50s. Could be even a 40-degree day in there somewhere. A total change around for midweek, so enjoy these first three days. I don’t think many will appreciate the following three.

Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine To Start New Month

Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine To Start New Month

Currently 66 with a calm wind from the ESE. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 30.21, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:39 am, Sunset 7:23 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the lower 80s. L winds becoming S 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Clear overnight. Low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Still looking at warm days in the 80s until Thursday. That’s when a chance for some rain comes in with a front that will erase our warm numbers and drop us down into the 60s.  Much more fall-like feel to our atmosphere after that. Could have days soon after that drop into the 50s for a high. Enjoy this comfortable weather while we have it.
