Didn’t get much rain yesterday, only bits and pieces, light. But it did help clear the air and freshen everything up. Today is the lovely results. A pleasant Summer day. Not a hint of rain in the week coming at us and the temperatures look to remain in the comfortable range. Should be a great Summer week.

Monday, July 29, 2019-South West Michigan-Looking For Afternoon Rain

Monday, July 29, 2019-South West Michigan-Looking For Afternoon Rain

Currently 75 with an average wind from the SSW of 14 mph. Feels like 75 degrees. Dew Point 66, Humidity 74%, Barometer 29.84 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:28 am, Sunset 9:07 pm. Partly to mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High 76. WSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight skies. WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

No rain from any of the opportunities given us lately, but there is some hope for this afternoon. At least the temperature is down a bit, although the humidity and dew point are making it feel fairly uncomfortable this morning. Would be nice to get it all cleared out with some rain. According to the forecast, our temperatures aren’t due to climb back into the upper 80s until around next Sunday. Should be a decent week coming up.

Sunday, July 28, 2019-South West Michigan-Rain Coming Tomorrow

Sunday, July 28, 2019-South West Michigan-Rain Coming Tomorrow

Currently 78 with an average wind from the SW of 9 mph. Feels like 78 degrees. Dew Point 69, Humidity 74%, Barometer 30.02, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:27 am, Sunset 9:08 pm. Sun and clouds with the chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. High near 85. WSW 10 -15 mph

Mostly cloudy overnight. The chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Low 71. SSW winds 10 -15 mph.

A pleasant day so far,  but warming up without much of a breeze blowing through to help keep things comfortable. If there is, indeed, a breeze, it’s a warm one that isn’t helping at all. A nice front moving through by tomorrow afternoon should bring some cooling rain with it.And the rest of the week sounds clear and comfy right on until about next Sunday, where there might be another chance for some rain.

Saturday, July 27, 2019-South West Michigan- Expecting Some Rain

Saturday, July 27, 2019-South West Michigan- Expecting Some Rain

Currently 76 with an average wind from the SW of 15 mph. Feels like 76 degrees. Dew Point 62, Humidity 61%, Barometer 30.08 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:27 am, Sunset 9:09 pm. Partly to mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Gusty winds an small hail possible. High 83. SW winds 15 -25 mph.

Variable clouds with a 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Gusty winds and small hail possible. Low 67. SW winds 10 -20 mph.

Feels a bit like it could scrape up some rain later on. There’s a smell to the air of  coming precipitation. Not thinking too kindly about the possible gusty winds or small hail, but the rain might be nice. As long as our temperatures stay pleasant as they are right now and it looks like they might. Monday sounds as if it’s going to bring some more serious rain with a brief drop in temps, but looks like conditions might spring right back by Tuesday, so it’s probably going to be all good. Seems like it, anyway.

Friday, July 26, 2019-South West Michigan-Clouding Up, Maybe Some Rain Coming

Friday, July 26, 2019-South West Michigan-Clouding Up, Maybe Some Rain Coming

Currently 62 with an average wind from the SSE of 4 mph. Feels like 62 degrees. Dew Point 59, Humidity 92%, Barometer 30.21 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:26 am, Sunset 9:10 pm. Some morning clouds, increasing in the afternoon. There’s a slight chance of a rain shower. High 83. SSW winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy overnight. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. Low 67. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

A few stray storms drifting from the west to the east across the upper states and we may get tangled up in one or two of those, but nothing serious appears to be in the making. A bit of rain wouldn’t be unwelcome. Sounds more likely tomorrow and almost for sure on Monday. The temperatures are, at present, staying relatively comfortable and that’s about all we can ask for the end of July. All in all, not bad.

Just heard that this past month of June was the hottest on record. Ever. For the entire planet. Wow! For all those who made it through that time without a working A/C, I salute you! And I realize there were millions of folks that either had to or just did accomplish that very thing. Hopefully the rest of summer won’t be quite so brutal. July hasn’t been awful.

Wednesday, July 24, 2019-South West Michigan-Pale Blue, Cloudless Sky

Wednesday, July 24, 2019-South West Michigan-Pale Blue, Cloudless Sky

Currently 65 with an average wind from the N of 3 mph. Feels like 65 degrees. Dew Point 50, Humidity 57%, Barometer 30.14 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:24 am, Sunset 9:12 pm. Sunny with a high around 80. Light and variable winds.

Still on the cool side after our recent heat wave. It does make for a difficult time climbing out of bed in the morning. Windows open all night let in the delightfully chilly night air and early morning hours are just about the right temperature to make staying in bed a tempting idea. Lucky me, I’m retired and can give in to that temptation- at least for a little bit. I’m fairly certain this will not last and the temperature will be heating up again. In the meantime, it’s refreshingly not boiling hot outside.

Tuesday, July 23, 2019-South West Michigan-Much Cooler Today

Tuesday, July 23, 2019-South West Michigan-Much Cooler Today

Currently 65 with a WNW wind 5 mph. Feels like 65 degrees. Dew Point 51, Humidity 59%, Barometer 30.05, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:23 am, Sunset 9:13 pm. Partly cloudy today with a slight chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. High 78. NW winds 10 -15 mph.

Mostly clear overnight. Low 54. NW winds 10 -15 mph.

Actually feels a bit chilly this morning compared to what we’ve been dealing with. I know right now, after just coming out from underneath a smothering heat wave, I’m going to be sounding like a loner, but I have to admit I prefer it to be a little warmer than this. I know. I know. Just a few days ago, I was talking about not being able to breath in the 90 degrees. So call me fussy, but if I had my druthers, I’d have it always be about 78-80 degrees. Nothing lower, nothing much higher. Since my having the power to adjust the temperature isn’t in the future, I have to deal with whatever Mother Nature sees fit to provide. I’m just saying…under 70…too cool for me.

Currently 63 with an average wind from the N of 9 mph. Feels like 62 degrees. Dew Point 51, Humidity 65%, Barometer 30.01 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:22 am, Sunset 9:14 pm. Lots of sunshine today. High 77. N winds 10 -15 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 54. NNW winds 10 -15 mph.

Can hardly express how refreshing this cooler air is. To be able to step outside and actually breath. Very grateful to that big dip in the Jet Stream bringing welcome cooler temperatures and allowing us to enjoy open windows and little breezes wandering the rooms once again. I see by the big national map, not everyone has been blessed with this heat relief yet, but it’s on the way. Love Summer. Hate the extreme heat we’ve been experiencing lately.
