Wednesday, Aug 30, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Sunny To Cloudy Today

Wednesday, Aug 30, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Sunny To Cloudy Today

Currently 59 degrees with a W wind of 2 mph making no difference, so it feels like 59. Dew Point 59, Humidity 100%, Barometer 30.09 & rising, Visibility 7 mi. Starting out with sunshine and gradually heading into some clouds this afternoon. High 79. WNW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly to mostly cloudy tonight. Low 56. NNW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Not a bad day for the last Wednesday of August. Feels a little clammy out there with the humidity so high, but not as bad as if it was 89 degrees instead of 59. Starting to see a tiny bit of color showing up here and there already in the bushes and a few trees. Dang!

Okay, site won’t accept pictures from me today. A challenge to see if it will even post. I may be saying adieu to WeatherQuack. Too much trouble to mess with it anymore. Something went wrong and I have no time left to try and figure it out. Alas….

Sunday, Aug 20 2017 Southwest Michigan – Foggy Morn Will Clear To Sunshine

Sunday, Aug 20 2017 Southwest Michigan – Foggy Morn Will Clear To Sunshine

Currently 61 degrees with an insignificant SE wind of 2 mph making no difference so it feels like 61. Dew Point 57, Humidity 88%, Barometer 30.05 & rising, Visibility 8 mi. Morning fog, dense in some areas, will lift to display sunshine. Afternoon clouds will move in and it will all come together with a high of around 86 degrees.

There is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, low of 65. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

It’s a fine morning in spite of the fog, which isn’t very apparent around my little backyard. I should imagine along the river it’s probably quite dense.

Not sure how much of the eclipse will be visible in my area tomorrow. Sounds to me like we’re going to be socked in with clouds. Hopefully they will part long enough for us to catch at least a peek at the excitement everyone has been waiting for. We’ll see how it goes. But there is a fair chance of rain here tomorrow.

Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Pleasant Sunday

Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Pleasant Sunday

Currently 71 degrees with an ESE wind of 2 mph skipping around doing nothing constructive, so it feels exactly like the 71 degrees it is. Dew Point 52, Humidity 50%, Barometer 30.07, Visibility 10 mi. Sunny to partly cloudy this afternoon. High near 80. Light and variable winds.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 58. Light and variable winds.

Nothing drastic or exciting going on with our weather. Just a mild little stretch of comfortable summer weather. Although, there is that little feeling of fall already in the early morning hours. Too early. This is late August, early September stuff. Goes right along with our unusually moderate summer. Except for one torrid week of 90 degree days, we’ve had a really mild summer. Nothing heating up too much or, for the most part, cooling down too much. Frankly, it’s been pleasant but really summery.

Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Finally A Decent Rain

Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Finally A Decent Rain

Currently 66 with a S wind of 3 mph barely noticeable, so it feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 66, Humidity 98%, Barometer 29.92, Visibility 6 mi. Cloudy early with partial clearing in the afternoon. The chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 75. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

A few passing clouds tonight. Low 56. NW winds 10 -20 mph.

Got almost 3/4″ of an inch of rain last night along with some thunder and lightening to liven up the dark. It was lovely. It’s been awhile so it was most welcome. It looks as if that was our only chance for the entire next coming week, so it was good to get that much. A nice week coming up – not too hot, or too chilly. Just a pleasant week of summer weather to enjoy.

Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Decent Day With Rain On The Way

Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Decent Day With Rain On The Way

Currently 67 with a S wind of 6 mph too weak to make a difference, so it feels exactly like 67 degrees. Dew Point 59, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.10 & falling, Visibility 10 mi. A mix of sun and clouds. High 84. SSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Cloudy with a 60% chance of thunderstorms. Low 63. SSW 5 – 10 mph.

Not a bad little morning going on. It does sound as if we might get a bit of overnight rain, and maybe a slight chance of more tomorrow. Not putting any money on that bet, but hoping, anyway. We definitely could use the rain here. We’re not getting our share of what’s falling in other spots around the nation. We’ll see.

Tuesday, Aug 8, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Fine Summer Day

Tuesday, Aug 8, 2017 Southwest Michigan – A Fine Summer Day

Currently 66 degrees with a W wind of 5 mph unable to budge that, so it feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 61, Humidity 83%, Barometer 30.11 & rising, Visibility 10 mi.  A sunny morning will usher in a partly cloudy afternoon. High 82. W wind 10 – 15 mph.

A few passing overnight clouds. Low 58. WSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

It isn’t my imagination, there is a cooler, a different, feel to the air already. And darned if there wasn’t a huge V of geese flying south the other day. Do those feathered creatures know something we don’t? Are just starting to think about? All I know is, I don’t need to see the tons of school supplies stacked up for sale in stores already, there is an end of summer feel to the atmosphere. Too soon. Not liking it. Not liking it at all.

Monday, Aug 7, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Rainy Monday Morning

Monday, Aug 7, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Rainy Monday Morning

Currently 62 degrees with a WNW wind of 2 mph too weak to make a difference, so it feels like 62 degrees. Dew Point 60, Humidity 94%, Barometer 30.03 & rising, Visibility 9 mi. 40% chance of early rain showers. High 77. N wind 10 – 15 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 52. N winds 5 – 10 mph.

A light rain falling. Very light. I only measured .03″ in the rain gauge this morning. But it’s enough to make the day a damp one to start off with. Our cooler than usual temperatures continue and for me it’s feeling more September than August so far. Plus the fact that we are on the losing side of daylight from now on…none of it resting light in my basket of joy. Alas….

Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Possible Afternoon Rain

Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Possible Afternoon Rain

Currently 60 degrees with an E wind of 1 mph totally insignificant to the situation, leaving that 60 to feel exactly as it is. Dew Point 58, Humidity 94%, Barometer 30.03 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Mostly cloudy this morning with a 60% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High 77. SW 5 – 10 mph.

A few overnight clouds with the possibility of a stray t-storm popping up. Low 58. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Just a rather blah day here weatherwise. I haven’t had a lot of rain in my little backyard, but enough to green up the grass some and that’s refreshing. Could probably use a bit more. If I’d only get a share, a tiny portion, of the rain that seems to fall all around me, it would be sufficient. But, alas….

This past week has felt the chill of coming Autumn and it’s not making me happy. I would druther it continue to feel like summer…well, all year round…but at least through the summer.

Saturday, Aug 5, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Chill Definitely In The Air

Saturday, Aug 5, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Chill Definitely In The Air

Currently 64 with a WNW wind of 7 mph not touching the number, leaving it to feel like 64. Dew Point 54, Humidity 71%, Barometer 29.99, Visibility 10 mi. Sunny today with a high of 76. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 58. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Just doesn’t feel like summer the past few days to me. Too chilly. I know these days come and go and this batch will go, bringing more summer warmth. And for most, this is comfortable and good enough. Not for me. I want summer to feel like summer. All summer. Not possible, I know, but hey…we all have our wants, don’t we? Me? I want summer to last for about ever. Also, not possible.  But if I had my druthers….

Friday, Aug 4, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Cooled Right Down Here Overnight

Friday, Aug 4, 2017 Southwest Michigan – Cooled Right Down Here Overnight

Currently 61 degrees with a SW wind of 14 mph making it feel like 59. Dew Point 57, Humidity 85%, Barometer 29.73 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Cloudy with a 60% chance of rain showers. High 63. WSW winds 15 – 25 mph.

Evening clouds will give way to a clear sky tonight. Low 53. WNW winds 10 – 20 mph.

What a difference a day makes….hey, that might make some good song lyrics…no, come to think of it, that’s been done already. Anyway, big difference in temperatures here and today really is a chilly one compared to the usual 80 degrees we’ve been experiencing. Makes one think of fall…no, don’t go there, Pat.

At any rate, although it rained torrents where I had to be for my first stop yesterday to the point of when I finally did make a break from my car into the building, even with an umbrella, I was pretty much soaking wet by the time I got there, I only measured .27″ of rain here in my backyard. I’ll tell you, there’s nothing quite like having to wading through a raging 2 or 3″ of racing rain to make one feel at one’s best. Took me most of the day to dry out and I had to go from one A/C place to another which left me pretty much chilled to the bone all day.

Got a busy one again today but hoping the rain will give me a break while I’m at it. Just fun, fun, fun.
