Currently 45 with an average wind from the E of 6 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 40, Barometer 29.91, Humidity 97%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 6:52 am, Sunset 8:30 pm.

Seems as if rain is due to settle in until later on Saturday. Never fear though, it’s looking like a much dryer week coming up next time around. Nothing unusual in the forecast as of now. This is a good thing. On the other hand, no big warm up in sight yet either. Eventually, though. It’s bound to get here. For now, it will be a tad on the damp side for the next few days.

Wednesday, April 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Setting In Overnight

Wednesday, April 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Setting In Overnight

Currently 34 with an average wind from the NNE of 7 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 29, Barometer 30, Humidity 84%, Visibility 120 mi., Sunrise 6:54 am, Sunset 8:29 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain showers in the afternoon. High in the upper 50s. SE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain showers and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 40s. E winds 10-20 mph with gusts to around 30.

Not a bad little morning out there right now. Looks as if rain will move in later and hang around through tomorrow. Perhaps some thunderstorms mixed in there. But no snow, which is a wonderful thing to hear. Rain we can cope with, but in April having to deal with snow is not acceptable. Not for most of us anyway. Perhaps we’ve seen the last of it until next winter. Let’s do hope so.

Tuesday, April 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Could See Afternoon Sun

Tuesday, April 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Could See Afternoon Sun

Currently 34 with an average wind from the WSW of 6 mph. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 27, Barometer 29.71, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:55 am. Sunset 8:28 pm.

30 % chance of morning snow showers becoming a mostly sunny afternoon. High in the mid 40s. NW winds around 15 mph with gusts to 30.

Clear overnight skies with a low in the lower 30s. W winds around 10 mph becoming NE in the afternoon.

There is a chance things could clear up and give us some welcome sunshine this afternoon. Fingers crossed.  Nothing looks like it’s going to revert to our glorious 3 or 4 days of 80-degree temperatures we recently were blessed with, but on the other hand, there doesn’t appear to be any scheduled snowstorms in our future either. In the meantime, come what may, we can enjoy watching the greenery blossoming out and the leaves filling in the bare spots we’ve had since last fall. After all, it is spring, whatever the weather pretends it to be. Leaves, flowers, we should have enough color around us we’ll forget how gloomy our black, white and gray color scheme was for far too long.

Monday, April 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Spring Came And Went That Fast

Monday, April 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Spring Came And Went That Fast

Currently 32 with an average wind from the SSW of 3 mph. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 32, Barometer 29.35, Humidity 100%, Visibility 0.98 mi., Sunrise 6:57 am, Sunset 8:27 pm.

90% chance of snow showers possibly mixed with some rain showers in the morning.  Snow accumulation could be 1″. High in the upper 30s. W winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Mostly cloudy overnight with a 50% chance of snow showers. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 35.

This is truly ridiculous. We went from 80-degree days to a day that won’t get out of the 30s. With snow. Been showing fat, lazy snowflakes all morning long. Fresh spring green is just beginning to blossom out everywhere and today it’s being attacked by snow. Something decidedly unfair about this. About all we can do is hope this is the last of it. Looks that way from here, but then it looked that way before and look what that gave us. Leftover winter that refuses to get out of the way for spring weather. Better days are ahead. This just isn’t going to be one of them.

Sunday, April 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Today, Snow Tomorrow

Sunday, April 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Today, Snow Tomorrow

Currently 63 with a calm wind from the ESE. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 54, Barometer 29.52, Humidity 73%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:59 am, Sunset 8:25 pm.

90% chance of rain showers with a chance for some thunderstorms. High in the upper 60s. S winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 becoming SW 15-25 with gusts to around 40.

90% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with snow showers. Snow could accumulate 1″ or less. Low in the lower 30s. SW winds 15-25 mph with gusts to 40.

Well, the bottom is going to fall out of our lovely spring weather while Mother Nature messes around again with some winter weather. Could get some snow tonight and very likely some tomorrow. We know it won’t last, but just as the fresh green spring leaves are starting to unfurl seems a cruel time for such a trick. The last couple of days have finally started to bring some color back into our world – and now it’s threatened – at least temporarily – with being covered back up with that miserable white stuff.  Alas…Hang in there. And this too shall pass and all of that…

Saturday, April 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain, Dropping Temperatures In Store

Saturday, April 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain, Dropping Temperatures In Store

Currently 63 with an average wind 1 mph from the SSW. Feels like 63, Dew Point 49, Barometer 29.73, Humidity 53%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:00 am, Sunset 8:24 pm.

Partly cloudy until midday becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High around 78. SW winds 10 mph.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the upper 50s. SE winds 5-15 mph.

Today will still be in the comfortable range, but yesterday – WOW! I had 85 here and I think it will be quite some time before we see another run of two or three days like we just had. Today will be cooler, tomorrow cooler still and Monday will be a nightmare. Temperatures then could hover in the 30-degree range with a chance of snow. What??? Why is winter hanging around refusing to vanish? For whatever reason, just be ready for several not so wonderful days coming up the beginning of the week. Made all the more miserable after the lovely weather we were briefly blessed with. For now, we could have rain this weekend…I guess the thing is simply to be grateful it’s only rain. Won’t be much to be grateful or happy about in a couple of days.  Drat!

Friday, April 14, 2023-SW Michigan-Near Record High Today

Friday, April 14, 2023-SW Michigan-Near Record High Today

Currently 50 degrees with a calm wind from the E. Feels like 50 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 29.8, Humidity 46%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:02 am, Sunset 8:23 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the lower 80s. Ligh winds becoming SW 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight. Low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Today will be a total delight. Light winds, sunshine, warm temperatures. Sounds about perfect. Tomorrow maybe not quite as terrific and Sunday, unfortunately, is going to be miserable- in fact we could get some heavy storms with the drastic change in the weather in progress. This will be ushing in two or three days of even more misery. Difficult to imagine we’re going to go from what could be 82 or 83 degrees today to something in the 40s with a chance of a rain/snow mix by the beginning of the week. Why is it that we always seem to have to pay for good weather? We know it won’t last now, when the crummy stuff comes along, but it will hang around long enough to dampen the heck out of our weather enjoyment. Just something to get through, I guess. And we shall do exactly that. But today…today we have the best.

Thursday, April 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Couple Of Gorgeous Days For Us

Thursday, April 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Couple Of Gorgeous Days For Us

Currently 63 with an average wind from the S of 4 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 29.82, Humidity 42%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:04 am, Sunset 8:22 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 70s. SW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly clear overnight. Low in the lower 50s. S winds 5-10 mph.

There is a Red Flag Warning in effect today due to high winds, low humidity and warm temperatures. Folks need to be cautious about anything that could contribute to fires.

Today and tomorrow will be lovely days to be outside in the springtime air. Unfortunately, the storms this weekend – although Saturday will still remain in the warm temperature range – will usher in much cooler weather with the added threat of that dread S word we all thought was finally behind us. There does seem to be a chance for a frozen mix or snow threat Monday and Monday night. Impossible to imagine but there it is. Things will gradually improve thereafter but we have to get through that unpleasantness to get back to spring it would seem. In the meantime, we have today and tomorrow to enjoy and relish.

Wednesday, April 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunshine Galore

Wednesday, April 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunshine Galore

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SSW of 5 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 44, Barometer 29.89, Humidity 53%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:05 am, Sunset 8:21 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the mid 70s. SW winds 1-20 mph with gusts to 35.

Clear overnight with a low in the mid 50s. SW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Going to be breezy but oh such nice temperatures will be ours for the next 3 days. Even Saturday will be warm, but rainy and that will bring in a week of not quite so nice weather to look forward to. In other words, enjoy the heck out of today through Friday. It’s the kind of weather we dream about in the middle of our miserable winters. Spring is ready to bloom, the sun is shining, breezes mixing things up a bit and we  could not ask for more. Well…we could. But why?

Tuesday, April 11, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunny 70s For Us

Tuesday, April 11, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunny 70s For Us

Currently 55 with an average wind from the SSW of 4 mph. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 30.01, Humidity 43%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:07 am, Sunset 8:20 pm.

Mostly sunny until about midday becoming partly sunny. High in the lower 70s. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the mid 50s. SW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Look for some great temperature and welcome sunshine over the next 3 days. Unfortunately, we’ll end up paying for it with a rainy weekend. Still warm on Saturday but a drop in the temperature for Sunday along with the chance for that rain. Figures, huh? This is going to cool off the beginning of next week but hopefully we’ll warm back up again before too long. In the meantime, here’s 3 lovely days for us.
