Saturday, July 8 Southwest Michigan – Lovely Start To The Day

Saturday, July 8 Southwest Michigan – Lovely Start To The Day

Currently 60 degrees with a NNW wind of 9 mph playing around just enough to make that feel like 58. Dew Point 53, Humidity 79%, Barometer 29.96 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Sunny to partly cloudy today. High 78. NW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Clear skies. Low 57. WSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

It’s a grand morning. Feels fresh and clean out there today. Went out to feed the critters and didn’t want to come back in at all. Just wanted to sit out there and soak it all in. Can’t, of course, ’cause I have to be somewhere rather soon, wouldn’t you know it? But if I had my druthers…

Friday, July 7 Southwest Michigan – After Rainy Night, Damp Feel To Morning

Friday, July 7 Southwest Michigan – After Rainy Night, Damp Feel To Morning

Currently 64 degrees with a SW wind of 6 mph ignoring it, so it’s left to feel like 64 degrees.  Dew Point 64, Humidity 97%, Barometer 29.80 & falling, Visibility 10 mi. Sun and clouds today with a high of 84. WNW winds 10 – 20 mph.

Clear tonight with a low around 55. NNW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Although I measured only .60″ of rain in the gauge this morning, I’m guessing that much more was falling in other areas around me. The radio was reporting downed trees and power line, traffic lights not working. So…I reckon I was lucky enough to be on the fringe of a much wilder night of weather. Happily so, too.  I have to be out and about early this morning, so I’m hoping my route doesn’t hold any unpleasant surprises. We’ll see how it goes.

Thursday, July 6 Southwest Michigan – Starting Out Sunny Heading Into Clouds

Thursday, July 6 Southwest Michigan – Starting Out Sunny Heading Into Clouds

Currently 71 degrees with a S wind of 4 mph hardly stirring the air, so it feels like the 71 that it is. Dew Point 62, Humidity 75%, Barometer 29.98 & falling, Visibility 10 mi.  A sunny morning will give way to a cloudy afternoon with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. High 88. WSW wind 10 – 15 mph.

60% chance of thunderstorms tonight. A few may be severe. Low 66. WSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

It’s a fine morning,  bit humid, but with rain coming on in, that’s not a surprise. Sounds as if there could be some rough storms in this system heading toward us, but then, we’ve heard that before and been missed entirely. So, just a little rain would be nice.

A quite night wasn’t to be had last evening. Somebody obviously still had a hearty supply of the big fireworks ’cause we were once again treated to more celebration. Then tonight if we have thunder rolling around….but that I doubt anyone would be bothered about. I like that sound. I used to like the sound of fireworks :>)

Worried about all the wildlife that I haven’t seen much of since the onslaught of fireworks the other night. Can’t even imagine how confusing and scary it all must be to them. Hour after hour of gut-busting noise and blinding flashes of light. Haven’t seen one single Black Squirrel yet. I sure do hope they’re still around. At any rate, if we get rain tonight, that likely will put an end to the July 4th celebration noise. I hope.

Wednesday, July 5 Southwest Michigan – Another Lovely Summer Day

Wednesday, July 5 Southwest Michigan – Another Lovely Summer Day

Currently 70 degrees with a SSE wind of 6 mph flitting about but not hampering that number so it feels exactly like 70 degrees. Dew Point 58, Humidity 67%, Barometer 30.15 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Morning sunshine will give way to afternoon clouds. High 85. S winds 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 63. Light and variable winds.

After another night of constant banging and booming and crackles, even I, a person who loves the sight and sound of fireworks, can say enough, please. I think there was more audible fireworks last night than the night before, not so much of the colorful fun, just the noise. And it went on from 7ish to at least 11:00. It’s really funny but my cat, Nicky, doesn’t seem to be frazzled or bothered by any of it. Any animals I had in the past hated the July 4th celebrations. And like I’ve said, I enjoy it. But enough already.  I’m really hoping the supply has run out for this year and it doesn’t continue tonight. Really.

Tuesday, July 4 Southwest Michigan – Happy July 4th!

Tuesday, July 4 Southwest Michigan – Happy July 4th!

Currently 68 degrees with an E wind of 7 mph not messing around with that, so it feels just like it is, 68 degrees. Dew Point 58, Humidity 72%, Barometer 30.13 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Sunshine galore today with a high of 82. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mainly clear tonight, low 58. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

What a glorious 4th of July! The weather is ideal and there were plenty of fireworks echoing around last night, enough to last for another year. Had a wonderful display blossoming over the tree tops in my little back yard, so had lots of color to go with the noise. I know it probably irritates some, but I rather enjoy the stray boomer that sounds off every so often until, usually, well past midnight, as well as the sudden cascade of firecrackers that come out of somewhere – everywhere  –  to serenade the night. In all honesty, it was noisy here. More than usual, and that’s fine with me. It’s once a year and why not? Do it big or skip it, that’s my motto.

I hope you all have the very best, patriotic 4th of July. Celebrate our nation!

Monday, July 3 Southwest Michigan – Nicely Sunny And Comfortable

Monday, July 3 Southwest Michigan – Nicely Sunny And Comfortable

Currently 68 degrees with an ENE wind of 4 mph not making any difference at all, so it feels like the 68 it is. Dew Point 58, Humidity 70%, Barometer 30.11, Visibility 10 mi. Going to be a mostly sunny day with a high around 80. NE winds of 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 50s. E wind 5 – 10 mph.

What a lovely day we have going. Fresh feel to the morning and it’s going to get in about the most perfect temperature range possible, at least for me. An ideal day. And, unbelievable, but we’re leading into a perfect July 4th, too. It does seem as if any rain coming will hold off until Thursday now so all of those campers and picnicers and fireworks watchers should be in great shape to enjoy themselves. Can’t ask for more.

Sunday, July 2 Southwest Michigan – Our Glorious Weather Continues

Sunday, July 2 Southwest Michigan – Our Glorious Weather Continues

Currently 72 with a W winds of 12 mph not bothering that, so it feels exactly like 72 degrees. Dew Point 60, Humidity 64%, Barometer 29.99 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. Almost identical to yesterday’s forecast – A mix of sun and clouds. A stray shower or thunderstorm possible. High 75. WSW winds 10 – 20 mph.

40% chance of overnight rain. Low 57. NW winds shifting to NE 10 – 15 mph.

It’s a wonderful morning. Very little breeze drifting around and the way it looks, it promises to stay that way. Can’t even imagine having such a fabulous 4th of July weekend continuing to be about as good as could be ordered. Maybe some rain tonight, but other than that? Fine and dandy. Campers must be taking great delight in this one. Sometimes not so lucky, but this one? Luck abounds.

Saturday, July 1 Southwest Michigan – Mostly Sunny Morning To Start The Month

Saturday, July 1 Southwest Michigan – Mostly Sunny Morning To Start The Month

Currently 70 with a W wind of 7 mph tiptoeing around and not touching it, so it feels like 70. Dew Point 65, Humidity 83%, Barometer 29.84 & rising, Visibility 10 mi. A mix of sun and clouds today with the possibility of a stray shower or thunderstorm showing up. High 79. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

A few passing clouds tonight with a low of 60.  WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

There is a slight chance of afternoon rain, so I’m off and away this morning to run the errands I have to get done, done.  Then again, it might not rain at all, in which case, I’ll simply be ahead of the game. Gotta love that.

Looks like the East Coast isn’t going to be so lucky a far as their fireworks opportunities go. But then again, even there, the weather can change in a blink. Here it does sound, for the moment, as if this is going to be mostly lovely weather all the way through to the end of next week. Can you believe it? An outdoor holiday with decent weather expected? Wow! Blessing are upon us, I guess.
