Monday, June 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine And Warmth

Monday, June 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine And Warmth

Currently 68 with an average wind from the ENE of 3 mph. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 49, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 48%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:24 pm.

Partly sunny with a high in the mid 80s. E winds 5-15 mph.

Mostly clear with a low in the upper 50s. NE winds 10-15 mph.

Sounds like a lovely week and even better, if not over next weekend, by the days following we have some rain moving in.  At least that’s what’s on the agenda for now, anyway. Also, right at the moment it doesn’t look as if it’s going to be quite as hot as previously predicted. We’ll still see 80s, but the rash of 90-degree days have somehow vanished. That isn’t making too many people unhappy, I reckon. So, a nice summer week for us to enjoy. Do so, if at all possible.

Sunday, June 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunny Father’s Day Weather

Sunday, June 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunny Father’s Day Weather

Currently 70 with an average wind from the ESE of 2 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 58, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 61%, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:24 pm.

Sunny. High in the mid 80s. L winds becoming S 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight. Low in the upper 50s. SE 5-10 mph.

Couldn’t ask for better weather for a Father’s Day outing if that’s in your plans. If it isn’t, it’s still a grand day of perfect summer weather. Looking good all week. Warm, sunny and summery. We’ve going to be wanting and needing rain, but that isn’t in the picture so far. Bad storms in the southern states, but calm and quiet in our area.

Saturday, June 17, 2023-SW Michigan-A Grand Weather Weekend

Saturday, June 17, 2023-SW Michigan-A Grand Weather Weekend

Currently 71 with an average wind from the NW of 6 mph. Feels like 71 degrees. Dew Point 40, Barometer 29.98, Humidity 33%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:24 pm.

Sunny today with a high temperature of 81 degrees. NW winds 5-10 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 53. NNW winds 5-10 mph.

This is a wonderful weekend of weather ahead of us. The Canadian fires smoke has returned but for us here in Michigan not so discernable. The smoke particles are this time suspended way up there where they are not so troublesome. Not so in other states, but so far, this time around, we’re faring better in that regard. No rain in sight, so we’ll be watering what needs to be watered this week.  Some sites have our temperatures more or less moderate, some have us soaring to the 90-degree range. Whichever works out to be the most correct, we should see warm temperatures and sunny skies this week. In other words, a good get out there and enjoy summer week of weather.

Friday, June 16, 2023-SW Michigan- Heading In To Hot Weather

Friday, June 16, 2023-SW Michigan- Heading In To Hot Weather

Currently 61 with an average wind from the WNW of 4 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 29.82, Humidity 82%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:23 pm.

Partly sunny until midday then clearing. High in the mid 70s. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 until midday.

Mostly clear. Low in the upper 40s. N winds around 10 mph.

This is going to be one of the last really comfortable days for the entire next week. Going to be in the 80s starting tomorrow and working towards 90 during the week. No rain in sight, so it’s going to be flat out hot. And dry.  Seems to be our pattern this summer. At least so far. Let’s hope that somewhere along the line precipitation starts to blend in among the high temps. All we know is that it won’t be this coming week that happens.

Thursday, June 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Got Much Needed Morning Rain

Thursday, June 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Got Much Needed Morning Rain

Currently 55 with an average wind from the NE of 2 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 57, Barometer 29.61, Humanity on the decline, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 5:23 pm.

Cloudy becoming partly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain showers. High in the lower 70s. Ligh winds becoming 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the evening.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 50s. N winds 5-15 mph.

Not a heavy precipitation, but a nice light rain that was more than welcome this morning. I hate to be greedy, but sure wish we could get a bit more today because starting this weekend, we’re heading back into the sweltering temperature zone. With no rain in sight for the entire coming week. Look for some high 80s, maybe even a 90-degree day coming our way. I don’t think this would be so bad if it was balanced out with some beneficial rain, but that doesn’t seem to be our weather pattern this summer. Things can certainly change with the weather, we’re all well aware of that, but for now that appears to be the picture we’re destined to be a part of for the season. Just live accordingly and be cautious.

Wednesday, June 14, 2023-SW Michigan-So Much For The Rain

Wednesday, June 14, 2023-SW Michigan-So Much For The Rain

Currently 55 with an average wind from the WSW of 1 mph. feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point is 55, Barometer 29.59, Humidity 96%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:22 pm.

Sun and clouds mix with patchy morning fog. High in the mid 70s. NW wind 5-10 mph becoming W 10-15 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a 20% chance of rain. Low in the lower 50s. W winds around 10 mph.

I don’t know about you, but I got precious little of the predicted rain yesterday. That big swirling storm of rain managed to swing on down to the south as it circled around, and for many of us, left far too little of the much-needed precipitation behind. There is a very small chance tonight and a bit better tomorrow, but again, the numbers aren’t great. After that? Nothing. In fact, the heat comes roaring back next week with a vengeance. I’m afraid that at the rate it’s going, unless there is a huge change in the weather pattern, we could well be in a serious drought condition this summer. Of course, those changes can happen and, in this case, I hope they do. We are falling far short of needed rain already.

Tuesday, June 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Hopefully Afternoon Rain

Tuesday, June 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Hopefully Afternoon Rain

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SSE of 4 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 51, Barometer 29.5, Humidity 69%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:22 pm.

Mostly sunny morning becoming a partly sunny afternoon with a 50% chance of afternoon rain and thunderstorms. High in the upper 60s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the upper 40s. Light winds.

Hoping for the rain to materialize later today and overnight. Next chance for some precipitation will come around Thursday, but that isn’t a huge opportunity. We’ll take any of it we can get. Beyond today and Thursday, nothing in sight for the next week. We did get some rain, but not much, not nearly as much as needed. This cool down should ease up starting tomorrow, too. So, all in all, things are looking up.

Monday, June 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Weather Hangs On

Monday, June 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Weather Hangs On

Currently 55 with an average wind from the W of 5 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 48, Barometer 29.71, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:22 pm.

Mostly cloudy until midday becoming mostly sunny. High in the mid 60s. NW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to around 25.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper 40s. SW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

Going to stay chilly through tomorrow. Alas – the rain that we were supposed to get today has been removed and tomorrow’s chance isn’t great. We need a whole lot more precipitation that what we got yesterday. Thankfully, it was some, but we need so much more. The next chance seems to be next weekend, but considering how today flunked out in the rain division, who knows by then? One thing we can count on is the heat will return once we get through this chilly stretch. Should be in the 70s the rest of the week and hopefully, back into the 80s next week. Frankly, I’m looking forward to it.

Sunday, June 11, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly, Hopefully With Rain

Sunday, June 11, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly, Hopefully With Rain

Currently 59 with an average wind from the NE of 6 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 29.72, Humidity 87%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:21 pm.

80% chance of rain showers. High in the mid 60s. NE winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the evening.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of evening rain showers becoming partly cloudy overnight.Low in the upper 40s. N winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the evening.

So, the temperature is doing exactly as expected, much cooler, but alas…the three days of rain we were hoping for has managed to dwindle. So far, nothing but occasional light showers here, hoping for better as the day progresses. The rain seems to have been removed from Monday but still gives us a possibility for more on Tuesday. It’s been since somewhere around the beginning of May since we’ve had any decent rain here and we were truly hoping for a trio of rainy days to green things up. I reckon we’ll get what we get but as of right now, it won’t be nearly as much as we wanted or needed.

Saturday, June 10, 2023-SW Michigan-Sun Today Rain Tomorrow

Saturday, June 10, 2023-SW Michigan-Sun Today Rain Tomorrow

Currently 70 with an average wind from the S of 3 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 49, Barometer 29.7, Humidity 43%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:20 pm.

Mostly sunny becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. High in the lower 80s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy becoming cloudy with a 70% chance of rain. Low in the mid 50s. NW winds 5-10 mph becoming NE overnight.

Enjoy today ’cause the next two or three days will either keep you inside or out in the rain. Not only rain, but chilly temperatures, which will make it unpleasant. The upside is we desperately need the rain. Not so much the cool temperatures but we take what we get. When it warms back up again, things should be fresher and greener, which is alway good. Just keep some rain gear or a jacket handy until about Wednesday.
