Mostly clear overnight with that same 20% chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Low in the mid 60s. SE winds around 5 mph.

Not a great chance but if one of those pop-up showers does materialize, it would be fine and dandy. We are in need of rain and other than this tiny opportunity, none in sight. What we can count on is hot weather continuing through the week.

Monday, May 29, 2023-SW Michigan-Wonderful Memorial Day Weather

Currently 61 with an average wind from the ENE of 3 mph. Feels like 61 degrees. Dew Point 44, Barometer 29.98, Humidity 44%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9?02 pm.

If a request was put in for perfect Memorial Day weather, this would be what would be asked for – and grateful for it being granted. This is an ideal day for everyone to be out and about. Could not be nicer. Still looking at what seems to be a very warm week ahead of us and again – depending on which weather service you check in with, we’ll be in the upper 80s or we could see several days in the 90s. Either way, this is going to be a hot one. The following week should, as of now, offer a lot of relief from the heat, but we just have to get through this one safely. Stay as cool as possible, hydrate, stay out of the sun as much as you can if you can.

In the meantime, observe this day of remembrance for what it is. A time to give thanks and appreciation for all of those who gave their all that we might have all that we have today. It’s a somber holiday, one that deserves our attention. It’s not just about putting flowers on graves, it’s remembering all of those in graves who didn’t have to be there as soon as they were, who bravely did their best to ensure our country would remain free and safe.

Sunday, May 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Beginning Of A Hot Week

Currently 73 with an average wind from the NE of 3 mph. Feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 30.07, Humidity 31%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:08 am, Sunset 5:11 pm

Partly sunny with a high in the lower 80s. Light winds becoming 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the lower 50s. E winds around 5 mph.

Yesterday was a delight and today isn’t bad either. This coming week will offer no chance for any rain, but lots of opportunities for warm days. Depending on which weather station you care to check, we’ll be all in the 80s or we will be seeing a day or two in the 90s. Either way, it’s going to be on the hot side. The following week looks to be dropping down into the 70s, which will be feeling mighty welcome by the time it rolls around. Not sure as yet whether the week will be bringing us any chance for rain, but at least it will be bringing us relief from some of the higher temperatures.

Saturday, May 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Warm Week On The Way

Saturday, May 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Warm Week On The Way

Currently 55 with an average wind from the NE of 1 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 40, Barometer 30.25, Humidity 40%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:08 am, Sunset 9:10 pm.

Sunny with a high in the upper 70s. L winds becoming E 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low around 50. E winds 5 mph.

Week coming is going to be a warm one, but as on right now many of the 90-degree days have been reduced to possible 80-degree days. So…we may see one scorcher but not a whole bunch of them. And, of course, that’s as of right now. Day to day things and possibilities change. Pretty much what we can prepare for is plenty of sunshine and warmth. No rain in sight, so that means watering whatever needs water. But take heart, the following week looks, again as of now, to be more in the 70-degree range. So, if you’re not a huge fan of hot weather, just hang in there and it’s going to be a tad cooler before you know it.

Friday, May 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Last Cool Day For Some Time

Friday, May 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Last Cool Day For Some Time

Currently 57 with an average wind from the NNE of 2 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 31, Barometer 20.38, Humidity 36%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9:09 pm

Sunny. High in the lower 70s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Mostly clear with a low in the lower 40s. E winds around 5 mph.

Today will be very comfortable. After this? Maybe not so much for some, for others it will be delightful. Count me in with that group. No fan of A/C until and unless it’s absolutely necessary, the temperature gauge showing in the 80 degree range is exactly what I enjoy. If it does get as hot as 90 degrees, maybe my A/C goes on…if the humidity is bad. Other than that? Just give me open windows and fans and I’m a happy camper. There is no rain in sight for at least a week, just warm temperatures. Sounds like summer to me.

Thursday, May 25, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Today But The Heat’s On The Way

Thursday, May 25, 2023-SW Michigan-Cool Today But The Heat’s On The Way

Currently 50 with an average wind from the E o0f 6 mph. Feels like 52 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 30.24, Humidity 53%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:10 am, Sunset 9:08 pm.

Sunny with a high in the upper 60s. E winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Clear. Areas of overnight frost possible. Low in the upper 30s. E winds 5-15 mph.

Going to be cool today and downright chilly tonight, but after that? Get ready for the warmth to come our way. In fact, so much warmth that by Wednesday and Thursday next week we could be finding ourselves looking at the number 90 on our temperature gauge.  I’m thinking after tonight, our danger of frost is over and done with. So, haul out those flowers and veggies and get ’em planted. I guess there is a reason why the wisdom is on waiting until Memorial Day for planting things. And I sure do understand the desire to hustle things along and start seeing growing things as soon as possible. Even with a mild winter, it’s still winter here – no color, no greenery, no joy in the life of a garden. So anyone is pardoned for wanting to get things in the ground as soon as possible. Well…after tonight, whatever you haven’t given a new home in the dirt – go for it. Now, my kind of weather is on the way. :>)

Wednesday, May 24, 2023-SW Michigan-A Couple Of Cool Days…Then….

Wednesday, May 24, 2023-SW Michigan-A Couple Of Cool Days…Then….

Currently 61 with an average wind from the NE of 9 mph. Feels like 61 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 30.08, Humidity 71%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:10 am, Sunset 9:07 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the mid 60s. NE winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the mid 30s. E winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Today and tomorrow will be on the chilly side but watch out for next week. Something totally different coming our way. There’s a fairly good chance we could see our temperatures climb if not to 90 degrees, then very close a couple of days toward the end of next week.  June is definitely going to start out on the warm side. Very warm. It won’t stay that way, of course, we’ll slip back into the 70s soon enough, but for a week we’re going to be sweltering.

Tuesday, May 23, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunshine Continues All Week

Tuesday, May 23, 2023-SW Michigan-Sunshine Continues All Week

Currently 64 with an average wind from the E of 1 mph. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 50, Barometer 58%, Humidity 30.08, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:11 am, Sunset 9:06 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 70s. E winds around 10 mph becoming light.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the 50s. Light winds.

Our sunshine will continue but the next couple of days will be dipping down into the 60s. Never fear, the warmth will return by the weekend. Why Mother Nature insists on tossing in a couple of duds once in a while, we’re not quite sure, but hey…long as things get right again real soon, good enough. And they will be more than right before we know it.  Should see plenty of 80-degree days next week. My kind of weather coming on. Super excited about that.

Monday, May 22, 2023-SW Michigan-May Will Wrap Up With Plenty Of Sunshine

Monday, May 22, 2023-SW Michigan-May Will Wrap Up With Plenty Of Sunshine

Currently 55 degrees with a NNE wind of 1 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 49, Barometer 30.08, Humidity 71%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:12 am, Sunset 9:05 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the mid 70s. Light winds.

Mostly clear. Low in the lower 50s. Light winds becoming SE 5-10 mph.

Plenty of sunshine coming our way. A few days might dip down into the 60s but lots of 70s and 80s on the way. May didn’t start out so grand but it’s going to end on a much better, warmer note. Our world has become green and beautiful now. It’s these times when it’s apparent as to why so many of us consider Michigan to be the best of the best. SO many shades of green, so many bodies of water – Michigan seems to know how to do nature right. Once it begins to warm up – and hey, admittedly there are lots of folks who enjoy the colder weather, too – it starts to be not only delightful but lovely to look at. This is when I love Michigan the most. In all its green splendor.
