Wow – so this is how it feels to live in the deep south. Our 90s are going to continue beyond the next 7 – 8 days. Who knows after that? Going to be one hot summer! Starting to see the wisdom of getting all the necessary errands done early in the morning. In fact, I’m off to do just that. Staying inside with the A/C the rest of the day seems advisable.

Well, this coming week doesn’t sound wonderful – especially for anyone not having A/C. Every day for at least the next 7 days will be in the 90s. Some of them verging on 100. This is going to be one miserable hot stretch of weather. Had read that we’re supposed to be above average for most of this summer but man…this is beyond above average.

Saturday, June 27, 2020-SW Michigan – After Overnight Rain, Muggy Day Left Behind

Saturday, June 27, 2020-SW Michigan – After Overnight Rain, Muggy Day Left Behind

Currently 69 with an average wind from the SSW of 4 mph. Feels like 69 degrees. Dew Point 69, Barometer 29.78 & falling, Humidity 100%, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 6:05 am, Sunset 9:26 pm.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 60s. W winds 5 -10 mph in the evening becoming light.

Nothing severe came through last night. A nice rain, some thunder and lightening but no wind to speak of. We really did need the rain and it was a good one to sit by the window and watch. All sorts of entertainment. The sound of rain on the leaves, rumbles of thunder rolling across the sky, flashes of lightening and among the darkness between the tree leaves lightening bugs performed as mini lightening, reflecting the real thing. It was a great evening. And looking ahead, no rain in sight for at least the next week. Just high 80s and low 90s. Have to store the memory of last night’s lovely rain and refer to it when things get dry – as they will very quickly in that heat.

So far today we just have an overcast day with a close feeling as if rain is on the way, but none yet. We could be in for some severe storms with this system or perhaps we might just get some heavy rain. We’ll see how harsh the weather gets. We could use the rain, but not the severity.

Some even closing in on 90. Our long range forecast through September appears to be warmer than usual temperatures so we’ll see how it goes. This could be a summer where even my A/C gets a good workout.

Sunday, June 21, 2020-SW Michigan-Turning Out Better Than Expected

The family cancelled the plans we had for a combined b-day gathering this Sunday – because it was supposed to be rainy, thunderstorms, etc. Just a nasty little day. As it’s turning out, it’s a splendid day – figures.  And we reset everything for next Sunday. Guess what? Now the forecast for next Sunday is even worse than this one was supposed to be. Can’t win. Totally, in Michigan, can’t win if you plan anything in advance according to weather. As for now, next Sunday will be what it will be, the family will be gathering, and whatever the weather is, is. Geez….

Today is gorgeous.
