We’ve had plenty of rain lately. Would be nice if it would simply go away and leave us to some sunshine for a change. We could use it.

Tuesday, April 28, 2020-SW Michigan-A Bit Of Morning Sun, Overnight Rain Coming

Tuesday, April 28, 2020-SW Michigan-A Bit Of Morning Sun, Overnight Rain Coming

Currently 55 with an average wind from the SSE of 3 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 50, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 84%, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 6:38 am, Sunset 8:40 pm.

Partly cloudy morning becoming a mostly cloudy afternoon with a slight chance of some rain. High around 70. SE winds 5-10 mph.

90% chance of overnight rain. Rainfall could be 1″. Low 56. SE winds 10 -20 mph.

This morning is glorious. Even got out and raked a bit, put out my Humming Bird Feeder (a couple of the tiny guys have been spotted in Grand Rapids already), refreshed the hanging bird feeders…just enjoyed the dickens out of the fresh morning air. Sounds like a heavy rain tonight, chance of rain tomorrow, so this morning is the best bet for getting out there and breathing open air. In fact, soon as I’m finished with this, back outside I go.

Monday, April 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Heading Our Way

Monday, April 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Heading Our Way

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SSW of 9 mph. Feels like 55. Dew Point 26, Barometer 30.08 & falling, Humidity 30.%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:40 am, Sunset 8:39 pm

Cloudy with a 60% chance of rain. High 58. SW winds 10 -15 mph.

90% chance of rain – ending early. Low around 45. SSW winds 5-10mph.

So far this morning no rain has materialized. Doesn’t mean that it won’t but none thus far.

Spent some time this morningĀ  refreshing the hummingbird feeders and making food to store in the fridge. The Hummingbird Migration map shows them in Michigan already. Lord knows there’s precious little for them to eat naturally so far. I think I’ll hang mine out tomorrow. I’d rather waste a week or two of food than have any of them show up and go hungry on my watch.

Sunday, April 26, 2020-SW Michigan-Make The Most Of A Sunny Day

Sunday, April 26, 2020-SW Michigan-Make The Most Of A Sunny Day

Currently 49 with an average wind from the NNE of 12 mph. Feels like 44 degrees. Dew Point 23, Barometer 30.06 & rising, Humidity 35%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:41 am, Sunset 8:38 pm.

Mostly sunny today. High 63. NE winds 10 -20 mph.

Mostly clear. Low 36. ESE wind 5 -10 mph.

Today is a wonder. A bit on the breezy side, but we’ll take it. Sunshine. No rain, no snow. The rain is definitely moving back in tomorrow and tomorrow night, but today will be dry. A dandy time to get outside and tend to a few outdoor tasks. That’s my plan, anyway.

Saturday, April 25, 2020-SW Michigan-More Clouds Rolling In

Saturday, April 25, 2020-SW Michigan-More Clouds Rolling In

Currently 42 with an average wind from the ENE of 9 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 29, Humidity 58%, Barometer 30.04 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:43 am, Sunset 8:36 pm.

Morning mix of sun and clouds becoming cloudy in the afternoon. High 56. ENE winds 10 -15 mph.

Mostly cloudy overnight. Low near 40. NE winds 10 -15 mph.

Looking good as far as our temperatures ahead. 50s & 60s. Seems to be a lot of rain mixed in there, but if it stays on theĀ  warm side, at least it won’t be turning into snow. That’s a very good thing. We’ll take it a step at a time. Warmer. Maybe some sunshine eventually. Even warmer? It’ll get here. Just sort of losing patience waiting around for it.

Friday, April 24, 2020-SW Michigan-Not Warming Up, But Not Raining

Friday, April 24, 2020-SW Michigan-Not Warming Up, But Not Raining

Currently 43 with an average wind from the ENE 4 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 29.89 & rising, Humidity 70%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:44am, Sunset 8:45 pm.

Cloudy skies today with a high of 54. Light and variable winds.

Some clouds, low around 35. E winds 5 -10 mph.

Okay, so they’ve quit tossing in sunshine for our forecasts, still holding out warmer temperatures. But every day they dangle some pleasant weather in front of us, and almost every day somehow none of it materializes. Why is that? Supposed to be a couple of days in the 60s next week, but we’ll see. At least today, a jacket wearing day for sure, we’re not drenched in rain. That’s as big a plus as we can come up with for now.

Thursday, April 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Still Chilly Slight Chance Of Rain Again

Thursday, April 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Still Chilly Slight Chance Of Rain Again

Currently 36 with an average wind from the E of 13 mph. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 34, Humidity 94%, Barometer 29.84, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 6:46am, Sunset 8:34 pm.

Cloudy with a 40% chance of occasional rain showers. High 49. E winds 10 -20 mph.

50% of rain early then cloudy overnight. Low 38. ENE winds 10 -20 mph.

Still no pleasant spring weather to be enjoying. We had our hopes up that this was going to be a splendid spring, nothing but warm temperatures all the way through. Our winter was so light, we thought we could continue the pattern. We have, sort of, but far too much wintry weather showing up during this month of April. Too many mornings with snowflakes falling. We keep expecting temperatures to rise enough to preclude such nonsense, but alas…

Wednesday, April 22, 2020-SW Michigan-Snow Refuses To Go Away

Wednesday, April 22, 2020-SW Michigan-Snow Refuses To Go Away

Currently 30 with an average wind from the E of 5 mph. Feels like 24 degrees. Dew Point 23, Barometer 30.07 & falling, Humidity 76%, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 6:47 am, Sunset 8:33 pm.

30% chance of scattered morning snow showers becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Hie 444. SE winds 5 -10 mph.

80% chance of rain showers. Low 37. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

Opened the blinds this morning to see fat, miserable snowflakes falling. What the heck? Are we tired of this dreary weather? Yes. Yes, we are. Tonight should bring rain, but with our luck, we could wake to see a foot of snow on the ground. Supposedly it’s going to warm up this week enough to preclude more snow, but I don’t know. They’ve hinted at that before and look what we get…fat morning snowflakes. Not good. Not good at all.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020-SW Michigan-A Few Snow Showers Showing Up

Tuesday, April 21, 2020-SW Michigan-A Few Snow Showers Showing Up

Currently 34 with an average wind from the WNW of 20 mph. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 18, Barometer 29.81 & rising, Humidity 51%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:49 am, Sunset 8:32 pm.

Decreasing clouds and windy. A few snow flurries or showers possibl.e High 38. WNW winds 20 -30 mph.

A few passing cloudy. Low near 25. NW winds 10 – 20 mph with gusts to around 40 possible, decreasing overnight to around 5 mph.

So far this morning we’ve had a bit of a variety. Clouds, snow showers, wind, a bit of sunshine…can’t wait to see what else we’re offered. Frankly, waiting for warmth to come back is getting tiresome. I don’t want to look out of my window and see snowflakes flying around. We’ve had enough of wintry weather. I so want to see sunshine and 70 degrees. Soon…or eventually…but it will get here.

Monday, April 20, 2020-SW Michigan-Wind To Blow In Chilly Temperatures

Monday, April 20, 2020-SW Michigan-Wind To Blow In Chilly Temperatures

Currently 43 with an average wind from the SSW of 13 mph. Feels like 36. Dew Point 27, Barometer 29.77 & falling, Humidity 54%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:51 am, Sunset 8:30 pm.

Sunshine with a few afternoon clouds. High 54. WSW winds 15 – 25 mph with higher gusts possible.

Cloudy with a 90% chance of rain, becoming partly cloudy after midnight. Low 31. W winds 10-20 mph.

Unfortunately the wind blowing in is going to shuffle our comfortable temperatures out and bring back some heavier jacket weather for a bit. Overnight rain should clear by tomorrow but the wind will continue. The sooner this system breezes on past, the better.
