A really nice day to wind up the month of July. Difficult to imagine we’re heading into August already. So far, it’s been a terrific summer – at least for those of us who enjoy hot weather. I’m looking forward to it continuing through August. As of today, the possibility of rain has grown into 3 days…Sunday until Wednesday. But that’s, as always, up for debate. Things change practically overnight in the world of weather. In the meantime we have some terrific days to enjoy.

Thursday, July 30, 2020-SW Michigan-Feels Like Fall In The Morning

Thursday, July 30, 2020-SW Michigan-Feels Like Fall In The Morning

Currently 73 with an average wind from the E of 4 mph. Feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 60, Barometer 29.95, Humidity 63%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:31 am, Sunset 9:05 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the lower 80s. NE winds 5 -1 0 mph.

M0stly clear overnight. Low in the upper 50s. NE winds 5 -10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

After so much heat, such high temperatures, our cool mornings now have the feeling of fall already. At least to me they do. Most consider them refreshing, but I truly do like the heat. Silly me, right? I don’t see any more 90 degrees in our forecast, at least for the next week. A couple of days of rain – maybe Sunday, Monday. But the temperatures are scheduled to remain comfortable as opposed to humid 90s.

Wednesday, July 29, 2020-SW Michigan-Got A Nice Unexpected Overnight Rain

Wednesday, July 29, 2020-SW Michigan-Got A Nice Unexpected Overnight Rain

Currently 76 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 76 degrees. Dew Point 69, Barometer 29.92, Humidity 79%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:30 am, Sunset 9:06 pm.

Mostly clear. Low about 60. NW winds around 10 mph becoming NE overnight.

Well, in spite of no rain having been in our forecast, we did get a nice rain last night. Some low thunder, bit of lightening. It was pleasant as well as unexpected. I guess you can never discount getting a bit of precipitation out of the blue…or out of the dark as in this case.  At any rate, we did need the moisture and again I see nothing in our future until a slight chance on Sunday. We’ll see how it goes. In the mean time the air is fresh and the greenery given a new spritely appearance. Should be a lovely day today.

Tuesday, July 28-2020-SW Michigan – Lots Of Clouds Yesterday, No Rain

Tuesday, July 28-2020-SW Michigan – Lots Of Clouds Yesterday, No Rain

Currently 78 with an average wind from the SSE of 3 mph. Feels like 78 degrees. Dew Point 63, Barometer 29.94 & falling, Humidity 61%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:29 am, Sunset 9:07 pm.

Sunny. High in the lower 80s. W winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to around 25.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 60s. W winds 5 – 10 mph with gusts to around 20.

We never did get any rain from yesterday’s opportunity. Now unless something unusual occurs, I see no chance for at least the next week.  The sky clouded up right properly but not a single drop of precipitation did it produce. A trial run? Rehearsal for another day? No clue. No rain, either. Perhaps something unexpected will sneak in and give us some moisture. Going to get very dry around hear otherwise.

Monday, July 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Slight Chance Of Needed Rain Today

Monday, July 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Slight Chance Of Needed Rain Today

Currently 80 with an average wind from the SSW of 2 mph. Feels like 80 degrees. Dew Point 74, Barometer 29.9 & rising, Humidity 83%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:28 am, Sunset 9:08 pm.

Partly sunny with a 40% chance of showers. High in the lower 80s. W winds 5 -15 mph.

Mostly clear with a low in the lower 60s. W winds 5 -10 mph.

I don’t know. It doesn’t really look or feel much like rain right now. If we miss out on any today, I don’t see any in sight for the next week. Things are going to continue to dry out. This has been a more hot, dry summer than we’re used to. It’s rather funny. I have a friend in Louisiana who is telling me its cooler and wetter down there this summer. Of course, their ‘cooler’ is still hot and with their humidity, not pleasant for the most part. But for them, it is cooler and a lot more rain than they’re used to. We’ve switched summers, it would appear. Wish we could switch out our winters :>)

Sunday, July 26, 2020, SW Michigan-A Hot Sunday For Us

Steaming up out there. Not a comfortable day to be doing much of anything outdoors today. Storms could come through tonight lowering the temperature but for today, we’re staying inside as much as possible.

Saturday, July 25, 2020-SW Michigan-Starting A Hot Weekend.

Saturday, July 25, 2020-SW Michigan-Starting A Hot Weekend.

Currently 75 with an average wind from the S of 2 mph. Feels like 75 degrees. Dew Point 64, Barometer 30.15, Humidity 67%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:26 am, Sunset 9:11 pm.

Mostly sunny. High in the high 80s. Light winds becoming SW 5 – 10 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly clear. Low in the upper 60s. SW winds 5 -10 mph.

The heat dome is keeping us snugly inside the high temperature flow. Still looks a bit like rain on Monday and I suspect if we hit another 90 day tomorrow we’ll be welcoming some precipitation. In the meantime, it’s just like down south here this weekend. Everybody trying to get chores and errands done early to avoid as much of the heat as possible.

Friday, July 24, 2020-SW Michigan-Heat Ramping Back Up

Friday, July 24, 2020-SW Michigan-Heat Ramping Back Up

Currently 64 with an average wind from the NE of 4 mph. Feels like 64 degrees. Dew Point 59, Barometer 30.19, Humidity 84%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:25 am, Sunset 9;12 pm.

Sunny with a high in the mid 80s. Light winds.

Mostly clear tonight with a low in the lower 60s. Light winds.

Rather cloudy with morning but we’ve been promised a sunny day so I suspect these are merely rogue clouds interfering with out picture. Reckon they’ll wander along into some other scenario soon. Sounds like it’s expected to be around 90 by Sunday. A hot weekend coming up.

Thursday, July 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Building Up To A Hot Weekend

Thursday, July 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Building Up To A Hot Weekend

Currently 74 with an average wind from the E o 3 mph. Feels like 74. Dew Point 67, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:24 am, Sunset 9:13 pm.

Partly sunny until about midday becoming mostly sunny. High in the lower 80s. Light winds.

Partly cloudy. Low around 60. Light winds.

It does sound as if we’re working toward a very hot weekend with a chance of storms moving in being us less heat by the beginning of the week.  Today might be the most comfortable day until about next Tuesday. Well…at least we’re not looking at a hurricane barreling down on us like Hawaii. That’s sounding a bit scary. Hope it all works out well for them.

Wednesday, July 22, 2020-SW Michigan-Pleasantly Rainy Morning

Wednesday, July 22, 2020-SW Michigan-Pleasantly Rainy Morning

Currently 73 with an average wind from the S of 5 mph. Feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 72, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 95%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 6:23 am, Sunset 9:14 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of morning showers. Partly sunny afternoon. High lower 80s. W winds around 10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

Partly cloudy with patchy fog in the lower 60s. Light winds.

Nice soft rain this morning. It does feel humid and close but the sight and sound of the rain is worth it. Should clear up this afternoon. It does look as if the heat will ramp up by this weekend. So this 70/lower 80 degree stuff has to be enjoyed while it’s with us. I aim to do just that.
