Friday, Nov. 20, 2020-SW Michigan-Couple More Fair Weather Days

Friday, Nov. 20, 2020-SW Michigan-Couple More Fair Weather Days

Currently 54 with an average wind from the W of 9 mph. Feels like 54 degrees. Dew Point 44, Barometer 30.15, Humidity 67%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:41 am, Sunset 5:13 pm.

Partly sunny in the morning becoming mostly sunny. High in the mid 50s. W winds 10 -15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy. Low in the lower 30s. NW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Today and tomorrow the weather will be comfortable but Sunday sounds like it all starts slipping away. Possible snow showers and the temperatures continue to lower a bit more. Tuesday maybe a chance of a frozen mix, which is the worst. So far our Thanksgiving Day is looking good, no precipitation. But that’s a long ways away. Our weather is notorious for changing. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020-SW Michigan-We Have A Grand Day Going

Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020-SW Michigan-We Have A Grand Day Going

Currently 52 with an average wind from the SW of 5 mph. Feels like 52 degrees. Dew Point 29, Barometer 29.98, Humidity 41%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 5:14 pm.

Sunny with a high in the lower 60s. SW winds 15 – 25 mph with gusts to 45.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low in the upper 40s. SW winds 10 -20 mph with gusts to 3o.

It’s a bright sunny day and the temperatures will reach way up into the 60s. Now that might not seem like something special elsewhere, but in Michigan, middle of November? Yup, it’s special. And peering ahead, it doesn’t look like cold or snow is in out forecast for the rest of the month. Which mean, since we always expect to pay dearly for good weather with an equal amount in the rotten range, means December could be treacherous, but we’ll see how it goes. Not much we’ll be able to do about it either way, but we can cross our fingers and hope for the best. Which we will.

Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020-SW Michigan-Nippy But Nice Today

Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020-SW Michigan-Nippy But Nice Today

Currently 34 with an average wind from the S of 1 mph. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 28, Barometer 30.49, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:39 am, Sunset 5:18 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the mid 40s. S winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 25 in the afternoon.

Mostly clear with a low in the upper 30s. S winds 15 – 20 mph.

A frozen birdbath this morning so I did get around to hauling out the winter version and plugging it in. Later today when the ceramic version has unthawed, I’ll clean it out and store it away until next spring. A season that for now seems so far away with so much unpleasant weather in between. This week should still give us decent weather to be doing whatever needs to be done.

Tuesday, Nov. 17-SW Michigan-Chillier Today Should Warm Up A Bit

Tuesday, Nov. 17-SW Michigan-Chillier Today Should Warm Up A Bit

Currently 32 with an average wind from the W of 6 mph. Feels like 32 degrees. Dew Point 21, Barometer 30.34, Humidity 64%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 5:16 pm.

Partly cloudy. Low in the mid 20s. NW winds 5- 10 mph with gusts to around 20 in the evening becoming light.

Very nippy today and going to be even more so tonight. It should warm up a bit the rest of the week, but this is a taste of what’s to come. Snow seems to be flying in the upper part of Michigan. Lake effect snow. Won’t stick, but a bit of a hint of winter’s woes.

Monday, Nov. 16, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Morning, Rain/Snow Showers Later

Monday, Nov. 16, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Morning, Rain/Snow Showers Later

Currently 35 with an average wind from the WNW of 9 mph. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 28, Barometer 30.01, Humidity 73%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:36 am, Sunset 5:16 pm.

Mostly sunny morning becoming mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. High in the lower 40s. W winds 10 -15 mph with gusts to 35.

Mostly cloudy in a 50% chance of rain/snow showers in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low around 30. NW winds 10 -15 mph.

It’s a good morning. A bit chilly but bright and sunny. Not sounding like later today or overnight we’ll see such delightful weather. The rest of the week sounds okay but we’re facing yet another wet weekend time the next one rolls around. Getting to be a pattern. Not a particularly pleasant one, but it’s what seems to be dealt to us.

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020-SW Michigan-An Ugly Day Out There

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020-SW Michigan-An Ugly Day Out There

Currently 45 with an average wind from the WSW of 7 mph. Feels like 38 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 29.28, Humidity 91%, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 7:35 am, Sunset 5:17 pm.

Windy tonight with a 50% chance of rain/snow showers. Mostly cloudy becoming partly cloudy. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 15-25 with gusts to 35.

It’s simply miserable out there today. Windy, a cold rain blowing around. Not looking to improve during this day at all. A find and dandy day to be inside looking out and hoping the wind doesn’t increase to what they’re predicting. Power outages will be a very real issue for many if it does. It’s be terrific when this day and night have past and we can get on with some more favorable weather. Looking for some sunshine to show up starting tomorrow – until what looks like another rainy weekend in view next time around. Maybe that will change by the time next Saturday/Sunday rolls around.

Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Morning, Rainy Afternoon

Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Morning, Rainy Afternoon

Currently 33 with an average wind from the S of 3 mph. Feels like 33 degrees. Dew Point 28, Barometer 30.12, Humidity 80%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:34 am, Sunset 5:18 pm.

There is a High Wind Advisory in effect from 1 am to 7 pm on Sunday. SW winds 20-30 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

Sunny with a 50% chance of afternoon rain showers. High in the upper 40s. SE winds 5 – 15 mph with gusts to 25.

100% chance of rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Low in the upper 30s. S winds 15 – 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

It’s a bright sunny morning, a little on the crisp side, but the weather seems to be destined to change this afternoon. There was ice in the birdbath this morning, I failed to haul out the winter version yesterday.  I might hold off until Tuesday now because that seems to be the next night the temperature is going to dip below freezing. In the meantime, plenty of wind with the danger of power outages tomorrow. Not a pleasant thought. One we will have to experience to find out.

Friday, Nov. 13, 2020-SW Michigan-Gloomy Morning, Perhaps Brighter Afternoon

Friday, Nov. 13, 2020-SW Michigan-Gloomy Morning, Perhaps Brighter Afternoon

Currently 36 with an average wind from the SW of 4 mph. Currently 33 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 30.06, Humidity 86%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:33 am, Sunset 5:19pm.

Cloudy with a 30% chance of rain possible mixed with snow showers until about midday becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. High around 42. W winds 10 -15 mph.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the mid 20s. W winds 5 -10 becoming S.

Going to be downright cold tonight. Freezing birdbath for sure. I guess this afternoon might be a good time to haul out the heated winter version. This morning is bleak, nothing but gray skies, a background for mostly back skeletal tree limbs with the occasional burst of rusty brown of remaining leaves to give any contrast. It’s beginning to be a wintry landscape. Basically dreariness until Spring.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020-SW Michigan-Bright And Cool Day In Store

Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020-SW Michigan-Bright And Cool Day In Store

Currently 42 with an average wind from the SSW of 2 mph .Feels like 42 degrees. Dew Point 36, Barometer 30.16, Humidity 79%, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 7:31 am, Sunset 5:20 pm.

Mostly sunny. High in the lower 50s. S winds 5 -10 mph.

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with snow showers overnight. Low in the mid 30s. S winds 5 mph becoming SW with gusts to around 20.

Today we’ll get plenty of sunshine, maybe tomorrow, but the weekend sounds like a couple of rainy days. Our temperatures will be steady with no more 70s or 60s. It appears the 50 degree range -when we’re lucky enough to be there – will be our highs from now on. And that will gradually lower. Unfortunately.

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020-SW Michigan-Farewell To 70 Degree Days

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020-SW Michigan-Farewell To 70 Degree Days

Currently 39 with an average wind from the W of 6 mph. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 32, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:30 am, Sunset 5:21 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 40s. W winds 10 -15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy. Low in the lower 30s. SW winds 5- 10 mph becoming light.

Last night we were treated to a harsh, strong rain storm with high winds that successfully blew away all of our 70 degree days. We are left with a chilly, damp day with plenty of them ahead of us. Maybe some sunshine, but no more warmth. Not for a long time. It was nice while it lasted though.
