The morning started out with a sky as brilliant as a Sapphire. However, it’s gradually turned into a soft blue/gray overhead. Not nearly as beautiful and invigorating as it began. it’s still a pleasant day, but at it’s onset it appeared to be a day of unlimited energy and inspiration but now, I think I’ll just have to furnish my own motivation. So much for depending on Mother Nature.

Not a cloud in the sky this morning, just blue sky and sunshine. So wonderful to have the rain gone for the time being. Horrible to hear the results of all the rain we’ve been having lately in Midland, Michigan. Dams broken, water everywhere and people evacuated. Nature sure can raise havoc so quickly and so breathtakingly thorough.

There is an Areal Flood Warning in effect until later today. But I suspect it will be in effect longer than that.

At the rate the rain is falling this morning it looks as if it will be raining forever. Only life I’ve seen outside so far is one soggy Hummingbird and a dripping wet Black Squirrel. Brave, wet little creatures. Or just hungry wet little creatures.

A lovely day today. Tomorrow not so much. A good day to be out and about in the yard or where ever one is brave enough to venture off to. Frankly yesterday was a wonderful day, too and a friend called me to see if I wanted to come sit on her back deck, in the sun, and watch birds. I jumped at the chance to talk to somebody other than my cat. We, of course, sat 6 ft. apart in the sun and simply took great delight in being free human beings able to visit a friend. Personally, I’m good and sick of being treated like a prisoner with no rights or freedoms. Don’t know about you. You might be more fearful of life than I am. Your choice. I just know I’ve had enough. I’m out and about to enjoy this lovely day.

Woke this morning to 60 degrees. Now that’s about the warmest morning we’ve found in a long while. Sure felt comfy going out to feed the birds and critters. A few 50 degree days coming our way but a lot of the 70 degree variety, too. Tree leaves are beginning to bud out except for the most stubborn types. It’ll all get there.

So dark this morning for awhile that my backyard solar light came back on. Now it’s raining like crazy. Looks to me like we have a fairly steady rain patch with us until tomorrow.

Wednesday, May 13, 2020-SW Michigan-A Bit Of A Warm Up Heading Our Way

Wednesday, May 13, 2020-SW Michigan-A Bit Of A Warm Up Heading Our Way

Sunny with a few afternoon clouds. High 63. SE winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy to cloudy with an 80% chance of overnight rain. Low 46. SE winds 10 -15mph.

After several nights with Freeze Warnings, we could be finally clear of that – I say that with hope but not conviction – and heading into a bit of a warm up. Goodness knows it’s time for it to happen. Leaves are beginning to unfurl and things are starting to green up. Seems like it’s been a long, long wait after an early Spring-like moment or two when we thought it was just going to be warm and nice right on through to summer when it would heat up accordingly. That, obviously, didn’t happen, but maybe now we’re once again heading in that direction. If the Arctic Circle can manage to hold on to its own and stop sharing with us, we can make it.

Sure sick of cold weather but peering into the future a few days, it does look as if a couple of 70 degree days may be in our path. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t trust Mother Nature one bit anymore. Screwing up the month of May, which should be a lovely time. There’s still time for her to mend her ways, but not a lot. So if she has any intention of being kind, she’d best get cracking.
