Wednesday, June 20, 2018 South West Michigan – Mostly Clouds For Us Today

Currently 60 with an E wind of 10 mph dropping that down to feeling like 58 degrees. Dew Point 56, Humidity 85%, Barometer 29.89, Visibility 9 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:25 pm. Generally cloudy today with a high of 76. ENE winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 57. E winds 5 -10 mph.

A cool patch here right now. Feels rather refreshing this morning and isn’t going to warm up past the comfort zone this afternoon so it’s a pleasant day even if we see very little of the sun. In fact, I doubt we’ll see any sign of the sun at all but that’s okay. Lots of sunny days coming at us. Well, except for next Friday and Saturday where we’ll get some rain, but all in all a good week with temperatures only in the 70 degree range in sight.

Tuesday, June 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds And Occasional Showers

Tuesday, June 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds And Occasional Showers

Currently 68 with an average wind from the East of 11 mph making no difference so it feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 63, Humidity 83%, Barometer 30.01 & rising, Visibility 7 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:25 pm. Cloudy with an 80% chance of occasional rain showers. High 76. E winds 10 -15 mph.

Cloudy tonight with a 50% chance of rain. Low around 60. ENE winds 10 -15 mph.

Not much going on with the weather here today. A bit of gloom, a little rain. At least it’s warm enough for comfort. The next few days will bring us sunshine again before rain moves in about next Friday and Saturday. One good thing is our temperatures seem destined to remain in the comfortable 70s. Not a bad week coming at us.

Monday, June 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Heat, Thunderstorms Expected

Monday, June 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Heat, Thunderstorms Expected

Currently 77 with a WSW wind of 9 mph leaving that alone so it feels like 77 degrees. Dew Point 72, Humidity 85%, Barometer 29.91 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:24 pm. Mostly cloudy this morning with an 80% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe. High 86. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

80% chance of overnight thunderstorms. Low 66. NNE winds 5 – 10 mph.

The stuffy air continues here with a high humidity and dew point making it hard to breath in comfort. The thunderstorms coming in should help cool things off and clear the air a bit before the heat returns later in the week – but nothing like we’ve experienced this past weekend. Just summer heat – not Africa hot.

Sunday, June 17, 2018 South West Michigan – High Heat, Bad Air Day

Sunday, June 17, 2018 South West Michigan – High Heat, Bad Air Day

Currently 82 with an average WSW wind of 8 mph not helping. It feels like 88 already. Dew Point 72, Humidity 72%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:01 am, Sunset 9;24 pm. High Heat Alert in effect. Bad Air Alert in effect. Partly cloudy today with a slim chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. High 93, heat index over 100. WSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. Low 75. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

It is purely miserable out there already this morning. The air is close and heavy, makes breathing difficult. I know I plan to stay inside for the duration. Anyone with real breathing/lung problems is destined to suffer today unless they have a working A/C and stay inside where it’s cool. I’m grateful we don’t get too many days like this. I like hot weather but this is unbearable. Way beyond my comfort zone.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers and fathers who have gone on ahead and are watching over all from on high.

Saturday, June 16, 2018 South West Michigan – Stormy Morning, Heat Setting In

Saturday, June 16, 2018 South West Michigan – Stormy Morning, Heat Setting In

Currently 68 with an average WSW wind of 8 mph making no difference so it feels like 68. Dew Point 66, Humidity 95%, Barometer 29.95, Visibility 7 mi, Sunrise 6:01 am, Sunset 9:24 pm. 50% chance of thunderstorms this morning becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 88. WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

A few passing clouds tonight, low 72. SSW winds 5 -1 0mph

Only had .05″ of rain in the gauge this morning, but it looks and feels like more on the way. In fact, radar shows a fairly good storm bearing down on my little backyard very shortly. The heat is upon us this weekend with very high humidity and unhealthy air. A very good weekend to stay inside with your A/C on. That’s my plan, anyway.

Friday, June 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunny Morning To Possible Overnight Rain

Friday, June 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunny Morning To Possible Overnight Rain

Currently 69 with an ESE wind of 2 mph making no difference so it feels like 69 degrees. Dew Point 55, Humidity 61%, Barometer 30.06 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:23 pm. Sunny to partly cloudy this afternoon. High 85. SSE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy early becoming 40% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low 67. S winds 5 -10 mph.

It’s a fine morning, humidity isn’t bad, temperature is pleasant. We have been alerted, however, that this isn’t going to be the case by tomorrow morning. The heat and humidity are set to slam us good over the weekend. Personally, I’m off and away to tend to errands first thing this morning so I can stay put in what will very likely be my A/C on for a few days. I’m not an A/C fan…until it gets really hot and sticky and then I join the club in gratefulness. Sounds like a club meeting this weekend :>)

Thursday, June 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Low Humidity Day

Thursday, June 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Low Humidity Day

Currently 71 with an average wind from the West at 5 mph making no difference so it feels like 71 degrees. Sunny to partly cloudy today with a high of 83. WNW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly clear tonight with a low of 57. N winds 5 – 10 mph.

Yesterday was a total delight. Pleasant temperature, light breeze, and virtually no humidity. A grand day to tend to tasks you don’t relish tackling in summer heat and humidity. Today promises to be very much the same. A wonderful day. Looks as if our heat will be ramping up drastically after today to the tune of about 90 with plenty of humidity by Sunday. No complaints after being offered a couple of complete winners like yesterday and today. We’ll take what comes.

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds To Sun Today

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds To Sun Today

Currently 71 with a W wind of 14 mph making no difference so it feel like the 71 degrees it is. Dew Point 66, Humidity 86%, Barometer 29.82 & rising, Visibility 8 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:22 pm. Mostly cloudy with the chance of a stray thunderstorm becoming sunny in the afternoon. High 76. NW winds 15 – 25 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 54. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

It’s a damp feeling morning. No rain, but it feels close like it either has been or will be. The Pollen Count is about 7.1 in the moderate range – mostly grass and Mulberry – so those with allergies are probably not overly happy with conditions. But it could be worse as they well know. Watching the radar, it doesn’t look as if there is anything in our direct path right now so I suspect rain isn’t going to be an issue for us this morning. And we all know how quickly something like that can change, but for now…

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 South West Michigan = Sunny Morning, Cloudy Afternoon

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 South West Michigan = Sunny Morning, Cloudy Afternoon

Currently 70 with a SE wind of 9 mph ignoring that so it’s left to feel like 70 degrees. Dew Point 62, Humidity 76%, Barometer 29.96 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:01 m, Sunset 9:22 pm. A sunny morning with become a partly cloudy afternoon with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. High 79. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight, low 63. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

What a luscious morning. Sat out on my tiny patio to drink morning coffee and was absolutely enchanted…well, once I got the tiny ants off my glider rocker and smacked down the hornet determined to drive me out. Other than that, it was heaven.  Leaves of so many shades of green (one of the fabulous things about the state of Michigan – how many shades of green) gently swaying to the tune of a small breeze, birds of various kinds singing morning songs…What I dream about all winter. We have a most pleasant weather system perched overhead right now and it could hang around rather than eventually moving on as far as everyone here. It won’t. But the invitation is there.

Except for the little chance of a pop-up storm this afternoon, and a small chance of some rain tomorrow, nothing showing up on the maps to get in the way of wonderful weather until perhaps early next week. We shall see how it goes, but enjoying this amazing beginning to what promises to be a lovely day.

Monday, June 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Time For Tree Fluff To Fly Around

Monday, June 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Time For Tree Fluff To Fly Around

Currently 64 with an E wind of 14 mph dropping that only one degree so it feels like 63. Dew Point 50, Humidity 59%, Barometer 29.98 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:21 pm. Sunny with a high of 79 today. E winds 10 -20 mph.

Clear to partly cloudy tonight. Low 58. E winds 10 -15 mph.

The air is full of fluffy white tree seeds floating about like wispy snowflakes. I suspect anyone with allergies to such things will find this morning a rough go. But those Aspen, Cottonwood, Willow trees…they have no choice but to let loose of these little parachutes. The top of my car looks like fine snowflakes have covered it. Oh well…these, too, will eventually give way to some other irritant in the air :>)

Nice weather system in place with only a small chance of some rain coming in tomorrow. Heading into the 80 degree range where we should be. Nice!
