Wednesday, June 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds To Sun Today

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds To Sun Today

Currently 71 with a W wind of 14 mph making no difference so it feel like the 71 degrees it is. Dew Point 66, Humidity 86%, Barometer 29.82 & rising, Visibility 8 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:22 pm. Mostly cloudy with the chance of a stray thunderstorm becoming sunny in the afternoon. High 76. NW winds 15 – 25 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 54. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

It’s a damp feeling morning. No rain, but it feels close like it either has been or will be. The Pollen Count is about 7.1 in the moderate range – mostly grass and Mulberry – so those with allergies are probably not overly happy with conditions. But it could be worse as they well know. Watching the radar, it doesn’t look as if there is anything in our direct path right now so I suspect rain isn’t going to be an issue for us this morning. And we all know how quickly something like that can change, but for now…

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 South West Michigan = Sunny Morning, Cloudy Afternoon

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 South West Michigan = Sunny Morning, Cloudy Afternoon

Currently 70 with a SE wind of 9 mph ignoring that so it’s left to feel like 70 degrees. Dew Point 62, Humidity 76%, Barometer 29.96 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:01 m, Sunset 9:22 pm. A sunny morning with become a partly cloudy afternoon with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. High 79. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight, low 63. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

What a luscious morning. Sat out on my tiny patio to drink morning coffee and was absolutely enchanted…well, once I got the tiny ants off my glider rocker and smacked down the hornet determined to drive me out. Other than that, it was heaven.  Leaves of so many shades of green (one of the fabulous things about the state of Michigan – how many shades of green) gently swaying to the tune of a small breeze, birds of various kinds singing morning songs…What I dream about all winter. We have a most pleasant weather system perched overhead right now and it could hang around rather than eventually moving on as far as everyone here. It won’t. But the invitation is there.

Except for the little chance of a pop-up storm this afternoon, and a small chance of some rain tomorrow, nothing showing up on the maps to get in the way of wonderful weather until perhaps early next week. We shall see how it goes, but enjoying this amazing beginning to what promises to be a lovely day.

Monday, June 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Time For Tree Fluff To Fly Around

Monday, June 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Time For Tree Fluff To Fly Around

Currently 64 with an E wind of 14 mph dropping that only one degree so it feels like 63. Dew Point 50, Humidity 59%, Barometer 29.98 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:21 pm. Sunny with a high of 79 today. E winds 10 -20 mph.

Clear to partly cloudy tonight. Low 58. E winds 10 -15 mph.

The air is full of fluffy white tree seeds floating about like wispy snowflakes. I suspect anyone with allergies to such things will find this morning a rough go. But those Aspen, Cottonwood, Willow trees…they have no choice but to let loose of these little parachutes. The top of my car looks like fine snowflakes have covered it. Oh well…these, too, will eventually give way to some other irritant in the air :>)

Nice weather system in place with only a small chance of some rain coming in tomorrow. Heading into the 80 degree range where we should be. Nice!

Sunday, June 10, 2018 South West Michigan – Chilly Rainy Day

Sunday, June 10, 2018 South West Michigan – Chilly Rainy Day

Currently 62 with an E wind of 11 mph dropping that a degree to feeling like 61. Dew Point 58, Humidity 86%, Barometer 29.94 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:21 pm. Cloudy with a 60% chance of rain. High near 70. E wind 10 – 20 mph.

50% chance of overnight rain, low around 58. E wind 10 -20 mph.

It does NOT feel like June today. It’s sweater weather. I like a good rain, but this is a misty, chilly mess and it’s not a comfortable feeling day. Things are looking to improve as the week goes along, but today is not included in that batch of pleasant weather. In fact, plenty of sun and a few days back up into the 80s are coming our way. Too bad today missed it by just this much. Darn!

Saturday, June 9, 2018 South West Michigan – A Rainy Day

Saturday, June 9, 2018 South West Michigan – A Rainy Day

Cloudy tonight with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. Low 60. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

Yup, we have us a rainy Saturday. Expecting nothing severe, no excess rain, nothing to be alarmed about in my area. Just some rain from a big system moving through the middle of America. Hoping it will be gone by tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes.

Friday, June 8, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Clouds, Maybe Rain Moving In

Friday, June 8, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Clouds, Maybe Rain Moving In

Currently 69 with an average E wind of 10 mph making no difference and leaving it to feel like 69 degrees. Dew Point 56, Humidity 62%, Barometer 30.17, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:20 pm. Partly cloudy today with a high near 80. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy becoming cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain. Low 60. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

Feeling a little close today like the humidity might be a bit higher than the 62% reported. It feels like rain coming in. We shall see if the little system moving through tonight and tomorrow is willing to share some precipitation with us. I think we could use it. And even though we seem to be in a slightly cooler patch, I do see the possibility of a couple of 80 degree days coming our way about the beginning of the week. I’m hoping so.

Thursday, June 7, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Sunshine, Warmer Today

Partly cloudy tonight, low 57. NE winds 5 – 10 mph.

A much better day today as the warmth is returning. Feels good. Looks good. Some rain moving in over the next few days, but hopefully not much of a drop in temperature, so a warm rain? Absolutely welcome.

Found this Hummingbird Moth doing his thing, propagating my lilac bush yesterday. First one I’ve ever seen in person, only seen them in pictures before. Had no idea they were as big as they are. Fascinating little creature out enjoying summer activities.

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunny To Cloudy today

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunny To Cloudy today

Currently 60 with an average SSE wind of 3 mph making no difference so it feels like 60 degrees. Dew Point 47, Humidity 62%, Barometer 30.00 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:18 pm. Sunny to partly cloudy today. High 74. SSE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of overnight rain. Low 59. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

It’s chilly this morning but hopefully it will warm up this afternoon. And it would truly be nice if it would stay warmed up.  Looks to be a chance of rain Friday and Saturday and I don’t really see much in the line of 80 degrees coming my way, but fingers crossed. It’s summer and I want summer to be warm. Very warm.

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Cool Weather Is Back

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Cool Weather Is Back

Currently 54 with a NNW wind of 9mph making it feel more like 51 degrees. Dew Point 48, Humidity 81%, Barometer 29.85, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:18 pm. Partly cloudy today with a high of 69. NNW winds 10-15mph.

Clear overnight skies, low 46. NNE winds 10 -15 mph.

It’s chilly this morning again and will be quite cool tonight. Now I don’t see any 80 degrees until sometime next week. Should work back into the 70s this week but looks like that will bring us some rain about Friday and Saturday. 70s are comfortable, so if it can get there, that will be fine. but 60s? 40s? I don’t think so!

Monday, June 4, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Clouds, A Bit Cool

Monday, June 4, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Clouds, A Bit Cool

Currently 58 with a WNW wind of 16 mph dropping that to feeling like 54 degrees. Dew Point 45, Humidity 63%, Barometer 29.92 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:17 pm. Partly cloudy with a high of 71. W winds 15 – 25 mph.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain. Low 51. WNW winds 10 -20mph.

It really is a bit chilly this morning and my understanding is that tomorrow will be even more so. Tiresome. It’s June. We want warmth and sunshine. We’ve put in our orders but alas…nobody is paying attention. Nothing to do but haul out the long sleeve shirts and get on with things. At least for a few days.
