Friday, July 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Hoping For A Bit Of Rain Tonight, Tomorrow

Friday, July 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Hoping For A Bit Of Rain Tonight, Tomorrow

Currently 78 with a SW wind of 9 mph playing around with the Dew Point but not budging the number so it feels like 78 degrees. Dew Point 63, Humidity 67%, Barometer 30.10, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:14 am, Sunset 9:20 pm. Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. High 92. WSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low 72. SW winds 5 -10mph.

Pretty warm and mighty dry. We’re all hoping that this little opportunity for some rain does materialize into something to moisten things up hereabouts.  The grass is getting a tad crunchy and a few leaves are dropping due to dryness…neither one all that good. So we’re more than due for some rain.

Thursday, July 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Starting To Feel The Need For Some Rain

Thursday, July 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Starting To Feel The Need For Some Rain

Currently 73 with a SSE wind of 8 mph playing off by itself leaving that number to stand alone. So it feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 55, Humidity 54%, Barometer 30.18 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:13 am, Sunset 9:21 pm. Partly cloudy with a high of 88. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low 68. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Getting rather dry hereabouts and we haven’t had any rain – and then only a few small amounts a couple of times – in a long while. Actually, I’ve only measured .28″ since June 27. That’s a rather long period without a good soaking. I’ve been enjoying the sunny days, but now sort of have my fingers crossed for a good rain coming our way. It appears now to be Sunday and Monday with the possibility of precipitation.  Every morning it seems as if those day keep shifting around so as flexible as they are, who knows if or when they’ll show up. We’ll simply have to wait and see. In the meantime, a delightful summer continues.

Wednesday, July 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Nothing But Sunshine Today

Wednesday, July 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Nothing But Sunshine Today

Currently 74 with an E wind of 4 mph minding its own business so it’s left to feel like the 74 degrees it is. Dew Point 53, Humidity 48%, Barometer 30.16 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:12 am, Sunset 9:22 pm. Plenty of sunshine and a high of 85. Light and variable winds.

Partly cloudy. Low 61. Light and variable winds.

Our summer weather continues to be a total delight. And yes, I know we could use some rain now, and it does sound as if we might get some Saturday, maybe Monday, but for the time being enjoying the sunshine and warmth. So glad I don’t live where I have to worry about dust storms, hurricanes, drought, habitual flooding…yes, we have the occasional tornado and blizzard to be concerned with, but on the whole even those are on the rare side. Lucky me is all I can say. And I do.

Tuesday, July 10, 2018 South West Michigan – A Summer Week Of Weather To Savor

Tuesday, July 10, 2018 South West Michigan – A Summer Week Of Weather To Savor

Currently 77 with an ENE wind of 11 mph paying no attention and leaving it to feel like 77 degrees. Dew Point 55, Humidity 47%, Barometer 30.08 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:12 am, Sunset 9:22 pm. Some morning clouds will wander away leaving the sky blue for the afternoon. High 87. NE winds 10 – 15 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 59. NE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Near perfect summer weather for this entire week it seems. Somebody put in their order and Viola! it was delivered to the delight of all.  Right now a very small chance of showers about Saturday and again next Monday, but so far, nothing to be concerned with. Summer showing her best side. Gotta love it!

Monday, July 9, 2018 South West Michigan – Heat Kicking Up Again

Monday, July 9, 2018 South West Michigan – Heat Kicking Up Again

Currently 70 with a WSW wind of 9 mph making no difference so it feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 63, Humidity 79%, Barometer 30.16, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:11 am, Sunset 9:23 pm. Sunny with a high of 87.

Partly cloudy with the chance of  a stray thunderstorm popping up. Low 64. WSW winds shifting to N 10 -15 mph.

The heat is due to ramp up a tad today and drag along some humidity this time. The past weekend was glorious. Plenty of warmth, no humidity, low Dew Point…total perfection. Maybe not so perfect today, but still wonderfully summery. Windows are still open and hopefully no A/C will be needed here in my little nest. We’ll see. All depends on that dratted humidity.

Sunday, July 8, 2018 South West Michigan – Spectacular Summer Weather Continues

Sunday, July 8, 2018 South West Michigan – Spectacular Summer Weather Continues

Currently 66 with a S wind of 7 mph not budging that number, so the Heat Index, how it feels, is exactly 66 degrees. Dew Point 55, Humidity 66%, Barometer 30.30 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:10 am, Sunset 9:23 pm. Sunny today with a high of 87. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clear overnight, low 63. SW winds 5 -10 mph.

The heat is due to ramp up today, but not the humidity so even though hot, it shouldn’t be unbearable. The Dew Point and the Humidity are helping, the very best they can, to cooperate and allow us to thoroughly enjoy this summer weather. Whether they can behave themselves much longer is hard to say, but over this weekend…wow. Can’t ask for more perfect summer weather than what we have going right now.

Saturday, July 7, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Delightful Day On Tap

Saturday, July 7, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Delightful Day On Tap

Currently 66 with a SE wind of 8 mph making no difference so it feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 47, Humidity 49%, Barometer 30.39 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9:24 pm.  Sunny today with a high of 81. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clear overnight skies, low 57. Light and variable winds.

A most pleasant weather system is parked right overhead, came in yesterday and is lingering through today. No, actually, it appears to be set on hanging around and blessing us straight on through the week. The temperature will gradually creep up, but not expected to sneak into the 90s and we’ll have not much more than sunshine all week. Just a total summer delight.

Friday, July 6, 2018 South West Michigan – A Delightful Summer Day

Friday, July 6, 2018 South West Michigan – A Delightful Summer Day

Currently 66 with a NNE wind of 11 mph making no difference so it feels exactly like the refreshing 66 degrees it is. Dew Point 49, Humidity 54%, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9:24 pm. Sunny. Cooler and less humid. High 78. NE winds 10 – 15 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 53. Light and variable winds.

Ahhh…this is what summer should feel like – all summer long. A perfect summer day on tap followed by a night of sheer comfort sleeping temperatures. This is delightful. The heat and humidity are in the wings ready to work their way back to center stage, but today, tomorrow – and Sunday even though it will be quite warm again- should not be accompanied by the smothering humidity that makes life uncomfortable. That will come along as the days go by this week and the temperature climbs, but for now? Time to enjoy summer.

Thursday, July 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Hot Today, A Tiny Break Tomorrow

Thursday, July 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Hot Today, A Tiny Break Tomorrow

Currently 80 with a WSW wind of 10 mph adding to the high Dew Point to create a Heat Index high enough for it to feel like 87. Dew Point 73, Humidity 79%, Barometer 30.18, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:08 am, Sunset 9:24 pm. Partly cloudy with the chance of a stray thunderstorm popping up. High 88 – 90. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low 59. N winds 10 -15 mph.

Hot and humid again today but tomorrow promises to give us a break as it should only be hovering in the upper 70s. The heat returns directly after, but that one day in between will feel wonderful. Even a tiny break from the high heat of this summer will be a blessing to most everyone. Maybe shut the A/C off for a day to give it a rest?

Wednesday, July 4, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy 4th of July

Wednesday, July 4, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy 4th of July

Currently 82 with a SSE wind of 4 not making much difference, but the Dew Point and Humidity are so the Heat Index is high and it feels like 89 out there.  Dew Point 73, Humidity 74%, Barometer 30.21 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:07 am, Sunset 9:15 pm. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High 89. SSW winds 5 – 14 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with the slight chance of showers or thunderstorms. Low 74. Light and variable winds.

A hot July 4th. In fact, this entire summer has been a hot one so far. People who usually enjoy outdoor activities are finding themselves skipping out on them – fishing, biking – it’s simply too hot out there. I imagine, if the rain holds off and folks can gather for fireworks this afternoon, they’re going to be sticky hot, but they’ll still get together and enjoy the holiday if it’s at all possible. We’ll see how well Mother Nature cooperates.
