Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 South West Michigan – Not Much More Than Clouds Today

Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 South West Michigan – Not Much More Than Clouds Today

Currently 30 with an ENE wind of 12 mph dropping it down to feeling like 20. Dew Point 25, Humidity 82%, Barometer 30.63 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 6:22 pm. Mostly cloudy with a high around 41. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

Cloudy tonight. Areas of freezing rain possible. Low around 30. E winds 10 – 20 mph.

Not much going on today. Maybe a peek at the sun once in awhile, but for the most part we’ll be looking up at clouds. At least no snow or rain coming down on us. That’s a good thing.

Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Nothing But Clouds Today

Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Nothing But Clouds Today

Currently 30 with a NW wind of 10 mph dropping that to feeling like 21. Dew Point 21, Humidity 85%, Barometer 30.47 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:30 am, Sunset 6:21 pm. Cloudy today with a high of 36. NW winds 5 -10 mph.

Cloudy tonight, low 25. NE winds 5 – 10 mph.

The warm temperatures – which are now gone from my area – and all of that rain pretty much finished up the snow ground cover. Granted, there are still the remains of the high mountains of plowed up snow here and there, but nothing I can see on the ground. Got 1.38″ of rain since yesterday and there are Flood Warnings out all over the place for the next few days, at least. It’s great to see bare ground again, even if it is all a muddy, slushy mess.

Temperature dropped enough overnight to leave a thin coating of ice on most surfaces. I suspect driving in to work for those early morning folk wasn’t all that much fun. With the huge amount of rain over the past day or so not having anyplace to go, it sort of puddled up and froze up a bit overnight. Not good. Our daytime temperatures won’t be bad, but the nights will still be dipping down low enough to freeze.

Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 South West Michigan – We Have A Warm Rainy Day

Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 South West Michigan – We Have A Warm Rainy Day

Currently 56 with a SW wind of 12 mph dropping that only slightly to feeling like 53. Dew Point 55, Humidity 96%, Barometer 29.87 & rising, Visibility 4 mi, Sunrise 7:31 am, Sunset 6:19 pm. 100% chance of rain today. Rainfall could near 1″. High 57 – 60. SSW winds 10 – 20 mph.

100% chance of overnight rain. Rainfall could near 1″. Low 30. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

Got 1″ of rain overnight. In fact, slept with the window half open to enjoy the sound of that rain. How lovely. And today will be exceptional. We all know a 60″ day in February, in Michigan, is not the norm. However, today, in addition to the rain, we will be loving all those unusual degrees of warmth. Of course, that’s going to tumble, it won’t stay up there after today, but for today….no snow, just rain. Wow!

Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Cloudy Skies Rain On The Way

Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Cloudy Skies Rain On The Way

Currently 39 with a SSE wind of 5 making it feel like 35 degrees. Dew Point 36, Humidity 89%, Barometer 29.93, Visibility 5 mi, Sunrise 7:33 am, Sunset 6:18 pm. Cloudy skies this morning with a 90% chance of afternoon rain. High 43. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

100% chance of overnight rain. Low 44. SSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

There is a River Flood Warning in effect from now until further notice for the low lying areas hereabouts. The ground is still more or less frozen and all the rain/melting snow has nowhere to go other than into the swollen creeks and rivers. Not going to be pleasant in and around the usual suspects when flooding time arrives. I’ve been there, done that. Lived along the river for awhile and I can tell you huge chunks of jammed ice crowding around your house isn’t fun. Not in the least. Nice to see the warmer temperatures, but not like this.

Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Sunshine Today Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Rain

Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Sunshine Today Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Rain

Currently 33 with an average wind from the S of 11 mph dropping that a bit to feeling like 25. Dew Point 24, Humidity 68%, Barometer 30.26 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:35 am, Sunset 6:17 pm. A mix of clouds and sun today. High 39. S winds 10 – 20 mph.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Low 33. S winds 10 – 20 mph.

Temperatures are going to be pretty much above freezing this coming week, with the addition of some rain, so a lot of our snow cover should vanish. Even the mountains piled up from plows should diminish considerably. Looking forward to that.

Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 South West Michigan – Partly Cloudy To Snow

Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 South West Michigan – Partly Cloudy To Snow

Currently 24 degrees with a S wind of 9mph dropping that to feeling like 14. Dew Point 13, Humidity 62%, Barometer 30.10 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:36 am, Sunset 6:16 pm. Partly cloudy will becoming 70% chance of snow this afternoon. High 34. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

70% chance of evening snow will change to partly cloudy overnight skies. Low 23. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Not a bad morning. A tiny patch of blue sky once in awhile, but the clouds are starting to fill in the holes. Looking for some snow this afternoon/evening, but tomorrow should help get rid of it. Rain coming the beginning of the week, which will help get rid even more of it.

Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 South West Michigan – A Bit Of Blue Skies Today

Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 South West Michigan – A Bit Of Blue Skies Today

Currently 27 with a NW wind of 13 mph making it feel like 16. Dew Point 18, Humidity 70%, Barometer 30.11 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 6:14 pm. Partly to mostly cloudy today with a high near 30. WNW winds  10 – 15 mph.

Cloudy to partly cloudy tonight. Low 11. SW winds 5 -10 mph.

Not a bad morning going on out there today. A few little patches of blue skies showed up for a very brief while. Don’t see any out there right now, but maybe more will show up. At any rate, no new snow today and that’s as good as it gets for mid-February. Might be some showing up on Saturday afternoon, but Sunday will offer sunshine, so that’s no worry either.

Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Foggy Morning

Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Foggy Morning

Currently 39 degrees with a SW wind of 10 mph dropping that to feeling like 31. Dew Point 37, Humidity 95%, Barometer 29.73 & falling, Visibility 1 mi., Sunrise 7:39 am, Sunset 6:13 pm. Cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Foggy. High 41. SSW winds 10-15 mph.

Cloudy tonight with that same slight chance of rain showers. Low 23. NNW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Got one of those nicely foggy mornings I like so much.  Not bad temperatures going on but it’s going to be considerably colder tomorrow…like about 20 degrees lower. Oh well…it’s February. In the meantime I’ll enjoy today.

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy Valentine’s Day To You

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy Valentine’s Day To You

Currently 34 with a SSW wind of 10 mph dropping that to feeling like 26. Dew Point 28, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.09 & falling, Visibility 5 mi, Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 6:12 pm. Sunny to partly cloudy today. High 40. SW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Early evening sprinkles possible. Fog likely overnight. Low 36. SW winds 10 – 20 mph.

A splendid Valentine’s Day with plenty of morning sunshine. Warmer temperatures will help us eliminate some of the snowy ground cover. Couldn’t ask for better on this 14th day of February.  I hope your day is as good as it can be.

Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 South West Michigan – No New Precipitation Today

Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 South West Michigan – No New Precipitation Today

Currently 20 with a SSE wind of 5 mph dropping that to feeling like 12. Dew Point 8, Humidity 61%, Barometer 30.68 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:42 am, Sunset 6:10 pm. Partly cloudy to overcast skies today, high 32. SSE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly cloudy tonight with a low of 23. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Started out this morning with a weak sun attempting to bully its way through the clouds, but it couldn’t quite make it. Now it’s totally given in on the battle and it’s obvious there’s no more trying for the rest of the day. However, no new snow coming at us today and there’s nothing to find fault with in that. In fact, not until Thursday, when we may face one of those unwanted wintry mixes, do we see any new precip. Happy, happy days. We most certainly have had enough snow.

Yesterday’s sunshine felt like a day long bottle of energy pills. It was a grand can-do-anything day – and I did the best I could with it :>)
