Wednesday, March 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Maybe Some Sunshine Today

Wednesday, March 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Maybe Some Sunshine Today

Currently 26 with WNW winds of 10 mph dropping that to feeling like 16 degrees. Dew Point 15, Humidity 64%, Barometer 30.16 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:55am, Sunset 7:47 pm. Cloudy with a few peeks at the afternoon sun. High 38. W winds 10 – 20 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 27 degrees. WNW winds 10 – 15 mph.

So…there is still a chance of snow flurries popping in and out today and tomorrow. No kidding, it just won’t go away and stay away. And I realize after what they’re going through on the East Coast I shouldn’t even think of complaining – yet here I am, complaining. All I want is Spring. Sunshine. Warmth. The chance to sit outside and drink some coffee or tea. I don’t think I’ve ever spend a month of March moaning and groaning so much about the weather. I’m sick of the weather. I’m sick of me being sick of the weather.

One of these days I will be able to say there won’t be any more snow here until next winter. And I’ll be so happy to be able to say that. Speaking of the East Coast, I am seeing there is a very good chance that they will have the 4th Nor’Easter coming in late next week. Seriously. I don’t think I’d be able to stand it. I’m pretty sure I’d be packing up and moving…lord knows I’m tempted to do that here.

I so hate winter weather :<(

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Winter Hanging On

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Winter Hanging On

Currently 27 with an average NNW wind of 11 mph dropping that down to feeling like 17 degrees. Dew Point 21, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.11 & rising, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 7:57 am, Sunset 7:46 pm. Cloudy with a few snow flurries possible. High 32. NNW winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy tonight with a few snow showers likely. Low 21. NNW winds 10 -20 mph.

In all honesty, I am so sick of winter weather, now, cold….wasn’t it Thumper in the old Bambi movie who said, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.”?  I think so. So I’m not saying anything at all.

Monday, March 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Snow Flurries For Us

Monday, March 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Snow Flurries For Us

Currently 31 with a WNW wind of 8 mph dropping that to feeling like 23 degrees. Dew Point 29, Humidity 93%, Barometer 30.03 & falling, Visibility 4 mi, Sunrise 7:59 am, Sunset 7:45 pm.  60% chance of snow showers, high 39. NW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy with the possibility of snow flurries. Low 24. NW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Frankly just sick and tired of cold and snow. A couple of fairly decent days come our way and then back comes the snow, slippery roads and colder temperatures. Which is what we have today. Tiresome at best. Should be back into the lower 40s by next week, but that’s then, this is now.

Sunday, March 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunshine Today, Clouds Tonight

Sunday, March 11, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunshine Today, Clouds Tonight

Currently 29 with a NNE wind of 6 mph making that feel like 22 degrees. Dew Point 15, Humidity 55%, Barometer 30.25, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:02 am, Sunset 6:42 pm. Sunshine today. High around 40. N wind 5 – 10 mph.

Clear becoming cloudy tonight with a possibility of snow flurries. Low 25. WNW winds 5 – 10 mph.

It’s a beautiful day. Chilly, but bright and sunny. We’ll take that. Got the chance for more snow flurries tonight and in the morning but sure hoping nothing much comes from that. We’ve had more than enough of that snow stuff.

Saturday, March 10, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds And Cool Continue

Saturday, March 10, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds And Cool Continue

Currently 26 with a NNW wind of only 1mph making no difference at all so it feels like the 26 degrees it is. Dew Point 19, Humidity 75%, Barometer 30.12 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:02 am, Sunset 6:42 pm. Partly cloudy will becoming mostly cloudy with a high of 38. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clouds will clear overnight. Low 20. Light and variable winds.

The weather here continues to be uneventful, which isn’t a bad thing. I only wish we could come up with a few more degrees of warmth. I know we will, eventually, but not real quick it would appear. Maybe in about a week we could manage to crawl back up into the 40s – maybe even sneak in a 50 degree day, but nothing much to speak of coming at us.

With not much more than the usual winter black, gray and white to be seen outside, the brilliant splash of color from the birds feeding outside in my tiny backyard are more than welcome. I have heard there are Robins back already but so far I haven’t caught sight of one. The Cardinals and the Blue Jays are about the only things adding to the rather blah color scheme.

Friday, March 9, 2018 South West Michigan – Chilly And Cloudy

Friday, March 9, 2018 South West Michigan – Chilly And Cloudy

Currently 28 with a WNW wind of 9 mph dropping that to feeling like 20 degrees. Dew Point 19, Humidity 68%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:04 am, Sunset 6:41 pm. Generally cloudy today with a chance of a few snow flurries. High 33. WNW winds 10 – 15mph.

Mostly clear tonight. Low 21. NW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Nothing going on here in my little backyard. Critters and birds happily feeding at what I put out for them. Not much out there in nature for them right now.

No new major snows coming for awhile, which is nice. Temperatures holding steady in the 30s daytime and 20s overnight. No warm up in sight yet. Sooner or later. Later, it would seem, but not much we can do about that except stay bundled up and wait it out.

Thursday, March 8, 2018 South West Michigan – A Blah Day

Thursday, March 8, 2018 South West Michigan – A Blah Day

Currently 28 with a W winds of 14 mph dropping that to feeling like 16 degrees. Dew Point 19, Humidity 70%, Barometer 29.90, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:06 am, Sunset 6:40 pm. Cloudy with gusty afternoon winds. Chance of snow flurries possible. High 32. WNW winds 20 – 30 mph.

Cloudy overnight skies becoming partly cloudy after midnight. Chance of snow flurries. Low 23. WNW 10 -20 mph.

Nothing much going on here beyond the regular chilly, unappealing day. Feels enough like winter to not want to go out and do anything…not even brush the snow off the car that’s been on there for a few days now. Frankly, I plan to wait it out. When the weather warms up enough to melt it off the car, I’ll go out. Otherwise, I’m staying in and ignoring the lousy weather as much as possible.

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 South West Michigan – Predicted Rain Became Snow

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 South West Michigan – Predicted Rain Became Snow

Currently 26 with a NNW wind of 12 mph dropping that down to feeling like 16 degrees. Dew Point 22, Humidity 84%, Barometer 29.81 & rising, Visibility 6 mi, Sunrise 7:07 am, Sunset 6:39 pm. Cloudy becoming windy. A few more snow flurries possible during the day. High 34.  NW winds 20 – 30.

30% chance of overnight snow flurries. Low 23. WNW winds 10 – 20 mph.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until about 1:00. We were expecting mostly rain during the night, however, sheer determination from Mother Nature insisting on that becoming snow. Measured 2″ on the ground and .12″ of melted down precipitation from the rain gauge this morning. The bottom layer of the gauge was hard ice, so it was evident that the rain started out as predicted, but the temperatures dropped turning that into something else as the night wore on.

Left my car out of my minuscule garage (seriously, barely room for a car) because I always take advantage of a free car wash when Mother Nature is going to provide the rain. Not quite as planned this time around. Fact is, I’m not going anywhere for the next few days, so as far as I’m concerned it can sit right there until that snow melts. As it will. Eventually.

Tuesday, March 6, 2018 South West Michigan – Light Snow Today

Tuesday, March 6, 2018 South West Michigan – Light Snow Today

Currently 29 with an E wind of 10 mph dragging that down to feeling like 20 degrees. Dew Point 27, Humidity 95%, Visibility 5 mi, Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 6:37 pm. Morning snow showers will give way to a mix of rain and snow this afternoon. High 39. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

40% chance of evening snow showers becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low 26. N winds 10 -15 mph.

Got about .80″ of snow overnight. Just enough to coat everything white again.

Listening to the radio this morning there were lots of accidents – people heading in to work, speeding as usual. I just can’t understand the mentality – of lack there of. It’s like people are all speeding bullets fired out of huge cannon and they’re all determined to get there just as fast as they can. Some of them don’t make it with that mindset. Frankly, I’ve never had a job I was all that anxious to get to in the morning to defy the need for caution when the weather demands it. They must either have the world’s most fascinating jobs – or they all need to have their tiny minds examined. Or new alarm clocks so they can haul their carcasses out a bit early, take their time rather than rushing like they’re all late. No…that would never work. Those tiny minds probably can’t grasp such a concept.

Monday, March 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Mix Of Sun And Clouds Today

Monday, March 5, 2018 South West Michigan – Mix Of Sun And Clouds Today

Currently 30 with an E wind of 16 mph dropping thta to feeling like 18 degrees. Dew Point 16, Humidity 56%, Barometer 30.32, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:11 am, Sunset 6:36 pm. Sun and clouds today, high near 40. E winds 15 – 25 mph.

Cloudy tonight with an 80% chance of snow. Some rain may mix in. 1-3″ of snow possible. Low 29. E winds 15 – 25 mph.

Today is a pretty decent day so I’m off and away to tent to errands and such like. It sounds as if the rest of the week is going to be a good 9one to stay in and ignore the great outdoors. At least until about Saturday when the nonsense of snow/rain seems to be able to stop. At least that’s my plan.  I gather what wintry weather we’ll be getting will be a glancing blow from Winter Storm Quinn. A storm that will end up slamming into the East Coast as it makes its way to the ocean. And goodness knows, the East Coast has had more than its share of woes from the weather this year. One storm right after another while we’re fared fairly well here. At any rate, today’s the day to get out and get things done and so I shall do just that.
