Saturday, March 24, 2018 South West Michigan – Lots Of Clouds Today

Saturday, March 24, 2018 South West Michigan – Lots Of Clouds Today

Currently 28 with an ENE wind of 14 mph dropping that down to feeling like 17 degrees. Dew Point 18, Humidity 67%, Barometer 30.35 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 7:59 pm. Partly cloudy today with a high around 40. ENE winds 15 – 25 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight. Low 20. ENE winds 15-25pm.

Well, looking out at the sky this morning the sunny part of the partly appears to be hidden away somewhere out of sight. Nothing but  clouds up there this morning. Hopefully the afternoon will bring around a peek or two at the sun.

So far there isn’t much in our forecast that looks to be bringing any precipitation until about next Thursday where we might be getting some rain…and I won’t even mention the Sunday after that where it looks like a frozen mix is being scheduled. Fingers crossed that by the time that rolls around things will have changed and that ugly thought will be gone. We’ll see.

Friday, March 23, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Sunny Day

Friday, March 23, 2018 South West Michigan – Another Sunny Day

Currently 31 with a N wind of 10 mph making that feel like 22 degrees. Dew Point 16, Humidity 54%, Barometer 30.37 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 7:58 pm. Sunny skies today with a high of 45. N winds 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 24. ENE winds 5 – 10 mph.

We’re in a pleasant little patch of weather. Not real warm yet, but no precipitation and plenty of sunshine. It’s been delightful and I’m hoping it continues to be so. Buds are starting to pop on some of the trees. Not all by any means and we still do have small lumps of dirty snow here and there left over from snowplows. But it’s all good from now on, heading into the better of the twos seasons we’re blessed with here. Happy me.

Thursday, March 22, 2018 South West Michigan – Mostly Sunshine Today

Thursday, March 22, 2018 South West Michigan – Mostly Sunshine Today

Currently 26 with a NW winds of 6 mph dropping that to feeling like 19 degrees. Dew Point 13, Humidity 58%, Barometer 30.32 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:41 am, Sunset 7:56 pm. Lots of sunshine today, high 43. NW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Tonight we’ll see clear skies. Low 23. NW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Feeling so sheltered here in my little corner of the world. The East Coast is battling a winter storm, the West Coast is facing more torrential rains with likely more mudslides. We’re fortunate to be nestled here where for now there is nothing much going on. I prefer that to having to endure the struggles going on elsewhere.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Sun, Afternoon Clouds

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Sun, Afternoon Clouds

Currently 25 with a NNE wind of 10 mph dropping that down to feeling like 15. Dew Point 14, Humidity 63%, Barometer 30.04 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:43am, Sunset 7:55pm. Some sunshine this morning will give way to afternoon clouds. High 43. NNE winds 10 – 20 mph.

Cloudy early tonight, clearing later on. Low 22. N winds 5 – 10 mph.

So happy we aren’t getting any of the Nor’Easter – the 4th in the past month – that’s going on along the East Coast. It’s March, for crying out loud. I see the on-air meteorologists on the Weather Channel getting ecstatic about the snow, but far as I know, they’re the only ones. I realize that even here we aren’t beyond the realm of possibility for additional snow, we’ve had snow in March, even April, but enough already. It seems as if we’ve had a tremendous amount of snow this year but in actuality, we’ve had about 72″ in Grand Rapids, which is about average. Don’t know why it seems like so much more, but it does. Perhaps, and likely, because we had such a wonderful snowless month of February and so the snow fell, at least a bit of it, almost daily the rest of the winter. Whatever the reason, we feel like we’ve had more than our share and will gladly forgo any additional snowy ‘fun’.

Tuesday, March 20, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy First Day Of Spring

Tuesday, March 20, 2018 South West Michigan – Happy First Day Of Spring

Currently 26 with an average NE wind of 16 mph dropping that to feeling like 14 degrees. Dew Point 16, Humidity 65%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:45 am, Sunset 7:54 pm. Mix of sun and clouds, high 39. ENE winds 15 – 25 mph.

Partly to completely cloudy tonight, low 24. NE winds 10 -20 mph.

Not a bad little first day of Spring. Going to have at least some sunshine and although it’s on the cool side, it’s not snowing. That’s an enormous plus right there. From now on it’s only going to get better. Heading into my favorite two seasons and I’m thrilled.

Monday, March 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Sunshine Today

Monday, March 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Some Sunshine Today

Currently 33 with an ENE wind of 13 mph dropping that down to feeling like 24 degrees. Dew Point 20, Humidity 58%, Barometer 30.04 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:47 am, Sunset 7:53 pm. Partly cloudy today with a high of 42. ENE winds 10 – 20 mph.

Nothing spectacular going on here today. No alerts, warnings, cautions…simply a day. The closest it gets to being special is that it’s the last official day of winter with spring ready to begin tomorrow. Good enough.

Sunday, March 18, 2018 Southwest Michigan – Plenty Of Sunshine

Sunday, March 18, 2018 Southwest Michigan – Plenty Of Sunshine

Currently 40 with an average wind of WSW wind of 10 mph dropping that down to 34. Dew Point 22, Humidity 48%, Barometer 30.07 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:48 am, Sunset 7:52 pm. Plenty of sunshine, high of 53. W winds 10 – 15 mph.

Mostly clear skies with only a few passing clouds, low 27. NW winds shifting to ENE 10 – 15 mph.

A super sunny day. Even a bit more warmth. Not up there where I’d like it to be, but better than it’s been. A Sunday for being out and about and doing whatever sounds like it’s the best for the day. I’ll be looking for Robins – nary a one of which I’ve seen yet.

The coming week looks to be heading toward clear skies and we’ll see where it ends up. So far, so good.

Saturday, March 17, 2018 South West Michigan – A Sunny St. Patrick’s Day Here

Saturday, March 17, 2018 South West Michigan – A Sunny St. Patrick’s Day Here

Currently 26 with an ENE wind of 2 mph making no difference so it feels like the 26 degrees it is. Dew Point 18, Humidity 71%, Barometer 30.00, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:50 am, Sunset 7:51 pm.  Sunny with a high of 48. NNE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Clear overnight skies, low 28. Light and variable winds.

Seems to be a lot of clouds lurking up there right now, but once those clear out, we should see plenty of sunshine. As well as a bit of warmth. Not where I’d like it to be, but up there in a better range than what we’ve seen lately.

A find day in which to drink some green beer – or better yet – dream about green grass, green trees, green anything growing and thriving outside in place of the dreary winter black and white color scheme. Aye, it’s a happy day, indeed.

Have A Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Friday, March 16, 2018 South West Michigan – Glorious Sunshine Today

So happy to see the sunshine today. The temperature might not be heading up too high, but the sunshine makes it all feel so much better. We’ll take it!

Thursday, March 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Still Possibility Of Flurries

Thursday, March 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Still Possibility Of Flurries

Currently 29 with a WNW wind of 10 mph dropping that down to feeling like 20 degrees. Dew Point 22, Humidity 76%, Barometer 29.82 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:54 am, Sunset 7:48 pm. Mostly cloudy with the possibility of snow flurries. High 39. NW winds 15 – 25 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 20. NNW winds 10 -20 mph.

Well, not much of an improvement yet, but it’s coming. Has to be. Eventually I’ll be able to write about the warm temperatures, soft breezes and sunshine. I have faith. Although….the next Nor’Easter coming into the East Coast, with all probability next week, shows in some scenarios that that misery – snow – is going to push on over into Michigan. It’s a wait and see thing, of course, but am most fervently hoping that proves to be wrong. Alas….
