Tuesday, April 3, 2018 South West Michigan – Winter Weather Advisory In Effect

Currently 34 with an average ENE wind of 16 mph dropping that down to feeling like 23 degrees. Dew Point 26, Humidity 74%. Barometer 29.83 & falling, Visibility 8 mi, Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 8:10 pm. A Winter Weather Advisory Is In Effect Until Wednesday 11 am. Cloudy today with a 100% chance of afternoon rain. Thunder likely. High mid 30s. ENE winds 15 – 25.

Windy tonight with 100% chance of snow. 1-3″ possible. Low 28. N winds 20 -30 mph.

This is insane! Just about the worst ‘Spring’ I can remember. Cold, snow…it’s unrelenting. This Winter/Spring battle supposedly is one that Winter will lose, but for the moment, that seems debatable.  Seems like Spring is fighting a Bantam Weight bout while Winter is Heavy Weight and winning. All I can say is I’m sick, sick, sick of it. :<(

Monday, April 2, 2018 South West Michigan – Cold Temperatures Continue

Monday, April 2, 2018 South West Michigan – Cold Temperatures Continue

Currently 27 degrees with a SSW wind of 2 mph leaving that alone to feel like 27 degrees. Dew Point 19, Humidity 72%, Barometer 3013, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:22 am, Sunset 8:09 pm. Sunny morning becoming an overcast afternoon. High 44. WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Cloudy tonight. Low 32. ENE wind 10 -15 mph.

We may be saying goodbye to the month of March but most certainly not to the March-like weather. Not a hint of anything Aprilish going on anywhere that I can see. Definitely not here. The cold weather continues to keep people bundled up and cranky.

I see snow falling in so many places to the east and to the west of us. It’s simply ridiculous that this is keeping on keeping on.

Where the heck is Spring???

Sunday, April 1, 2018 South West Michigan – Cold, Cold Easter

Sunday, April 1, 2018 South West Michigan – Cold, Cold Easter

Currently 27 with a WNW wind of 9 mph dropping that down to feeling like 18. Dew Point 12, Humidity 53%, Barometer 30.21, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 8:08 pm. Partly cloudy with a high of only 34. W winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 22. SW winds 10 – 15.

What miserable weather for Easter! If there’s an Easter Bunny out there, he’s either bundled up or he’s freezing to death. Granted, no snowflakes in the air, but that’s about the only good thing to be said about it. Where the heck is the Spring weather???

Saturday, March 31, 2018 South West Michigan – Gloomy And Chilly Weekend

Saturday, March 31, 2018 South West Michigan – Gloomy And Chilly Weekend

Currently 39 with a S wind of 12 dragging that down to feeling like 31 degrees. Dew Point 29, Humidity 69%, Barometer 29.98 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:26 am, Sunset 8:07 pm. A Wind Advisory Is In Effect. Windy with a 90% chance of rain. High 45. SW winds 20 – 30 mph with gusts to 40.

Windy tonight with cloudy skies. Low 23. NW winds 20 – 30 mph.

Nothing pleasant weather-wise about this Easter weekend at all. Cold, rain, wind. Even a mention of a snow flurry to two showing up. The Jet Stream is doing goofy things up there and allowing cold air to roam around at will and this isn’t at all what should be happening by this time of year. This entire coming week sounds like nothing we want to be happening. Mother Nature seems to be ignoring the calendar – and our wishes for warmer Spring weather. Sick and tired of this weather.

Friday, March 30, 2018 South West Michigan- Clouds And Cool

Friday, March 30, 2018 South West Michigan- Clouds And Cool

Currently 33 with a N wind of 8 mph dropping that to feeling like 26. Dew Point 15, Humidity 46%, Barometer 30.21 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:27 am, Sunset 8:06 pm. A mix of sun and clouds will become all clouds as the day goes on. High 45. WNW winds of 10 – 15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low of 30. SSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

We are looking at a cool weekend with a downright chilly Easter Sunday coming our way. Looks to be a week of 30 degrees daytime temps and dipping into the 20s at night. Spring may be here, but it’s certainly being coy about hanging out with us. Not happy about this, but nothing to be done about it but to deep on bundling up and waiting it out. Eventually it will warm up. Maybe.

Thursday, March 29, 2018 South West Michigan – Rain Ushers Back Cooler Temps

Thursday, March 29, 2018 South West Michigan – Rain Ushers Back Cooler Temps

Currently 42 with a N wind of 3 mph making no difference so it feels like 42 degrees. Dew Point 40. Humidity 92%, Barometer 29.91 & rising, Visibility 4 mi, Sunrise 7:29 am, Sunset 8:04 pm. 40% chance of morning showers will become a cloudy afternoon. High 53. N winds 10 – 25 mph.

Cloudy to clearing overnight. Low 27. N winds 10 – 20 mph.

We did get .06″ of rain overnight and this is continuing on a light basis this morning. The temperatures are expected to take a dive for the next week into the 40s and 30s. So this needed rain was good – and bad. It washed away our 50 degree days even as it washed away the left over dirty piles of winter snow. Alas…

Wednesday, March 28, 2018 South West Michigan – Mostly Clouds Today

Wednesday, March 28, 2018 South West Michigan – Mostly Clouds Today

Currently 41 with an E wind of 7 mph making that feel like 36 degrees. Dew Point 35, Humidity 30.04, Barometer 79%, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:31 am, Sunset 8:03 pm. Cloudy with perhaps a few breaks in the clouds off and on through the day. High 55 with a SSE wind of 5 – 10 mph.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain. Low 39. Light and variable winds.

Warmer today but without the sun to make it a cheery day. Not much more than clouds overhead so far. Looks like a rainy one tomorrow coming our way. And the Weather Channel had the audacity to say the snow could be mixed in with the morning rain. NOT anything I want to hear. So I quit listening.

The birds are very active in the back yard and I even found myself with a Pileated Woodpecker feeding at one of the small hanging bird cake feeders. That’s one huge bird! Especially hanging off one of the little feeder blocks.

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 South West Michigan – A Bit Of Need Rain Last Night/Today

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 South West Michigan – A Bit Of Need Rain Last Night/Today

Currently 45 with an average S wind of 11 mph dropping that to feeling like 40 degrees. Dew Point 44, Humidity 97%, Barometer 29.92 & falling, Visibility 4 mi, Sunrise 7:32 am, Sunset 8:02 pm. Cloudy with a 90% chance of rain. High 48. WSW winds 10 – 15 mph.

Cloudy to partly cloudy tonight, low 34. NNE winds 10 – 15 mph.

We did receive .36″ of rain overnight and we were in need of it. Hopefully that will help eliminate  some of the left over lumps of dirty snow that were heaped up by the snow plows. It’s strange now to see them here and there. Our minds are turned totally away from snow and toward warmth and greenery but there are still some lurking around whether we choose to pay attention to them or not. We’re all hoping that Mother Nature doesn’t feel the need to be adding to them anytime soon.

Monday, March 26, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Sun, Afternoon Clouds

Monday, March 26, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Sun, Afternoon Clouds

Currently 33 with an E wind of 13 mph dropping that to feeling like 24 degrees. Dew Point 23, Humidity 65%, Barometer 30.41 & falling, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:34 am, Sunset 8:01 pm. Morning mix of sun and clouds will give way to all clouds this afternoon. High 54. SE winds 10 – 20 mph.

100% chance of overnight rain. Low 42. SSE winds 10 – 20 mph.

Well, after a week of dry, cool weather, we’re in store for some rain. Not a bad thing because the temperature will stay in the warmer range with a few 50 degree days ahead of us. Not that by the end of the week it looks to be dipping back down again, but we’ll most certainly take this current offering from Mother Nature.

Sunday, March 25, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunshine But Not Much Warmth Yet

Sunday, March 25, 2018 South West Michigan – Sunshine But Not Much Warmth Yet

Currently 29 with an E wind of 19 mph dropping that to feeling like 19 degrees. Dew Point 6, Humidity 38%, Barometer 30.46, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:36 am, Sunset 8:00 pm. Lots of sunshine today. High 42. E winds 15 – 25 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight, low 26. E winds 10 – 15 mph.

The sky is clear and the sun is shining. It’s a wonderful, if still slightly on the cool side, Sunday. The weather is gradually heading in the right direction and we’ve lucked out on the spring/winter storms that have insisted on putting in an appearance to the east and the west of us. Happy me! But the Robins are back and before long so will the Hummingbirds, which is always a spirit-lifter. We’re getting there!
