Thursday, April 9, 2020-SW Michigan-Nobody Wants To Hear The Word Snow Now

Thursday, April 9, 2020-SW Michigan-Nobody Wants To Hear The Word Snow Now

Currently 42 with an average wind from the W of 15 mph. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 30, Humidity 63%, Barometer 2965 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:09 am, Sunset 8:18 pm.

Overcast with a 50% chance of showers. Becoming windy in the afternoon. WNW 20 -30 mph with gusts to 40.

Some overnight clouds with a slight chance of a few flurries or snow showers showing up. Low 31. NW winds 15 -25 mph.

It’s one thing to be stuck in the house and have to look forward to rain rather than sunshine helping the situation. The word snow showing up is beyond depressing. If that happens, I’m totally closing the blinds and leaving them shut until Mother Nature comes to her senses.

Wednesday, April 8, 2020-SW Michigan-Pleasant After Rainy Night

Wednesday, April 8, 2020-SW Michigan-Pleasant After Rainy Night

Currently 55 with an average wind from the W of 7 mph. Feels like 53. Dew Point 48, Humidity 77%, Barometer 29.74 & rising, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 7:11 am, Sunset 8:17 pm.

80% chance of rain early with decreasing clouds overnight. Low 37. WNW winds 10 -15 mph.

Had a great thunderstorm yesterday evening. Nothing violent, just a bit of thunder and lightening, an easy rain, no wind to speak of. One of the good ones. And I rarely get a chance, in the little hollow I’m nestled in, to get good cloud pictures, but the opportunity presented itself yesterday. Beautiful color.

Tuesday, April 7, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Coming, May Be Some Severe Storms

Tuesday, April 7, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Coming, May Be Some Severe Storms

Currently 52 with an average wind from the SSE of 6 mph. Feels like 50 mph. Dew Point 48, Humidity 87%, Barometer 29.79 & falling, Visibility 8 mi., Sunrise 7:12 am, Sunset 8:15 pm

90% chance of thunderstorms will give way to partly cloudy skies after midnight. A few storms may be severe. Low near 45. WNW winds 5 -10 mph.

Sounds as if we’re in for some severe stuff tonight. And peering ahead our forecast looks to be hold an awful lot of days crammed full of rain. It does seem as if we’re in for a wet period. A bit of rain, good. A lot of rain, not so much.

Monday, April 6, 2020-SW Michigan-Nice Morning Due To Cloud Up

Monday, April 6, 2020-SW Michigan-Nice Morning Due To Cloud Up

Currently 51 with an average wind from the SSW of 7 mph. Feels like 49 degrees. Dew Point 38, Humidity 60%, Barometer 30.14 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:14 am, Sunset 8:14 pm.

Partly cloudy morning becoming a cloudy afternoon. High near 60. SSW winds 5 -10 mph.

Cloudy skies with a 60% chance of rain showers after midnight. Low 45. SSE winds 5 -10 mph.

So far, it’s a pleasant morning. Plenty of blue skies yet but that’s due to change. I am seeing a few rash folk talk about the possibility of some snow showing up yet in our future. Really need to curb such talk. No way do we need to see anything as depressing as more snow, not in our current mostly unhappy climate. So if Mother Nature has half a heart – something we doubt on occasion anyway – she will rethink any such misery. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Sunday, April 5, 2020-SW Michigan-A Welcome Sunny Day

Sunday, April 5, 2020-SW Michigan-A Welcome Sunny Day

Currently 38 with an average wind from the NNE of 7 mph. Feels like 33 degrees. Dew Point 23, Humidity 54%, Barometer 30.22, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:16 am, Sunset 8:13 pm.

Plenty of sunshine today with a high around 55. NE winds 5 -10 mph.

Clear overnight skies, Low 32. Light and variable winds.

No rain in the forecast until about Tuesday. We know this can change, but it’s looking good for now. Some miscreant reported that there is the chance of snow showing up sometime next week in our forecast but I refuse to put any stock in that. We’ve got enough to deal with now without unseasonable precipitation descending on us. For today, just enjoying the sunshine will do nicely.

Saturday, April 4, 2020-SW Michigan-Rainy Morning

Saturday, April 4, 2020-SW Michigan-Rainy Morning

Currently 45 with an average wind from the SW of 5 mph. Feels like 42 degrees. Dew Point 40, Humidity 83%, Barometer 30.03 & rising, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:18 am, Sunset 8;12 pm.

Cloudy with a 60% chance of morning rain. High 48. WNW winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a log of 28. N winds 5 -10 mph.

A bit cool and damp this morning. Paying for yesterday, which was a total delight. Got out in the yard and did a few tasks just for the sheer joy of being out in the sunshine. Today’s okay, we’ll be getting more of the nice ones. Can’t go anywhere in particular, but danged if anyone’s going to pin me inside of my own little nest and make me miss any sunshine and fresh air I can catch.

Friday, April 3, 2020-SW Michigan-Lots Of Sunshine Today

Friday, April 3, 2020-SW Michigan-Lots Of Sunshine Today

Currently 49 with an average wind from the E of 6 mph. Feels like 46. Dew Point 26, Humidity 41%, Barometer 30.13 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:19 am, Sunset 8:11 pm.

Sunny today. High 61. ESE winds 5 -10 mph.

Cloudy to partly cloudy tonight. Low 42. SE winds 5 -10 mph.

Staying in and staying safe has made it even more interesting watching what’s going on in my tiny backyard. A Robin showing up, the Black Squirrels squabbling with the Brown Squirrels, snubbing the small Gray Squirrel who sneaks in and out, a little chipmunk scurrying in and out trying not to call attention to itself, a Crow or two flapping in to snatch a crumb before flapping off again, a pair of Blue Jays feeling the need to bully everyone, a neighbor’s cat attempting to break up the party…so much activity in a world like mine that has so little activity going on.

Thursday, April 2, 2020-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine Today

Thursday, April 2, 2020-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine Today

Currently 41 with an average wind from the NW of 3 mph. Feels like 40 degrees. Dew Point 36, Humidity 80%, Barometer 30.20 & rising, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 8:10 pm

Nothing but sunshine today. High 59. NW winds 5- 10 mph.

A few overnight clouds. Low 34. N winds 5 -10 mph.

A beautiful blue sky out there today. Not a cloud in sight. With the temperatures rising accordingly, buds should soon be forming on the trees. Can’t wait to see green everywhere again. It’s one of the best things about Michigan, all the various shades of green.

I don’t know. One forecast says chance of a drizzle. Another doesn’t. So…we will either get drizzle or we won’t.  As for anything else going on right now?
