Friday, Jan. 3, 2020-South West Michigan-Today Okay, Tomorrow Maybe Not So Much

Friday, Jan. 3, 2020-South West Michigan-Today Okay, Tomorrow Maybe Not So Much

Currently 34 with an average wind from the WNW of 5 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 30, Barometer 29.82 & rising, Humidity 84%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:13 am, Sunset 5:18 pm.

Cloudy with the high staying stead in teh mid 30s. WNW winds  5 – 10 mph.

Cloudy overnight with a slight chance of a few snow flurries. Low 28. Light and variable winds.

Today should stay fairly decent but not saying the same is likely for the next couple of days. Snow and that dread frozen mix are showing up on forecasts. Not good. Daytime temperatures seem to be staying in the 30-40 degree range, which is not usual for a Michigan January. This does seem to be a strange Winter. We had a good dose of it at Halloween. Since then it’s not been Winter as usual. I’m likely it but real Winter fans are not all that thrilled. Should be interesting seeing what the rest of this season brings us.

Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020-South West Michigan-Sun and Clouds Mix For Today

Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020-South West Michigan-Sun and Clouds Mix For Today

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SSW of 14 mph. Feels like 33 degrees. Dew Point 29, Barometer 29.58, Humidity 62%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:14 am, Sunset 5:18 pm.

Partly cloudy today with a high around 43. SW winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy tonight. Low 32. W winds 10 -15 mph.

Today is a fine day for the beginning of Jan. Pleasant temperatures, some sunshine mixed in among the clouds. Definitely a keeper. Peering ahead there looks to be a sprinkling of that dread frozen mix stuff in store. Fingers crossed that changes. That’s the worst. Either snow or don’t snow. Rain or don’t rain. And never, ever mix in sleet or hail. That’s what would be nice but things don’t seem to work that way all the time. So far, so good for the start of our 2020 year. Hoping things stay that way for as long as possible.

Wednesday, January 1, 2020-South West Michigan-A Happy New Year To All

Wednesday, January 1, 2020-South West Michigan-A Happy New Year To All

Currently 26 with an average wind from the SSW of 9 mph. Feels like 17 degrees. Dew Point 22, Barometer 29.78, Humidity 98%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:13 am, Sunset 5:17 pm.

A mix of sun and clouds. High 34. SSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight. Low 31. SSW winds 10 -20 mph.

The new year began with a mild night and a first day of some sun showing up to brighten the snowy landscape. We ended the 2019 with a storm that brought in about 7″ of snow, but that was then, this is now. Fingers crossed that this won’t repeat anytime soon. Today is a grand beginning. Appears to be the chance of some snow around the beginning of next week, but the temperatures seem to be staying in the fairly comfortable range. Fair enough!

I wish you all the best New Year imaginable. Healthy, happy and safe.
