Got down to 27 last night in my backyard. First ice in the birdbath when I went out to refill it. I guess it’s time to get the heated bird bath rounded up and ready. Definitely jacket weather from now on. Good chance of rain coming Friday and Saturday and with the temperature expected to drop to below freezing Saturday night, I would hope folks are aware that road conditions early Sunday might not be what they’ve become used to. Happens every year – people seem to be shocked, and sometimes dead – by forgetting that ice and black ice can affect driving speeds. I always hope for the best when the weather becomes colder, but the best isn’t always in existence when it comes to some drivers on a road of less than ideal conditions…or even when the are ideal, for that matter. But right now we’re thinking of those taking off on what might be a slick early morning road.
