Sunday, July 1, 2018 South West Michigan – Oppressive Heat Continues

Currently 83 with a S wind of 10 mph only adding to the misery so it already feels like 88. Dew Point 72, Barometer 29.91, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:06 am, Sunset 9:25 pm. A mix of morning sun and clouds will give way to afternoon cloudiness with the slight chance of a thunderstorm popping up. High 93. SSW winds 15-25.

60% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe. Low 67. SW winds 10 -20 mph.

The air is full of the hum of active air conditioning units. Not much else. Even the birds are laying low during this excessive heat wave.  For those without A/C or with units not working up to snuff, this is unbearable. How any sleeping is being done in the overnight hours for those folks, I have no idea. Not even industrial size fans can stir enough air to make it feel cooler when it’s this hot. This is truly oppressive heat.
