Listening to thunder rumble not too far off in the distance and light rain has done a stop/start thing so far this morning. I’m off and away with a busy day so I’m hoping we don’t get any big gully-washers while I’m out driving about. We shall see.
I have, not only a couple of hummingbirds so far, but a pair of Orioles that feed from the same feeder and these colorful birds are also eating at the Woodpecker seed cake station. I do have two cakes crammed in there at the same time, a Woodpecker flavor and an Orange one. I suspect it’s the Orange one attracting them, but whatever it is, I’m happy to watch them. Such wonderful color.

Pat, I haven’t seen a single hummingbird yet but I also have an Oriole coming to my feeder. I guess that’s better than nothing. My suet cake is drawing woodpeckers and a red winged blackbird who thinks he owns it. He even scares the bluejays away.
