Areas of drizzle then 70% chance of rain with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. High in the upper 50s.  S winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 becoming SW 10-15 mph with gusts to around 30.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper 40s. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

A rather gloomy day for us with the rain perhaps holding over for a slight chance of a bit more tomorrow morning. After this batch clears up, nothing until Wednesday or Thursday. And again – guess when? – you got it, next Sunday. Why is it when our rainy times come along they almost always include our Sundays? At least that’s the picture for now – it could change by next weekend, but that’s a wait and see situation. Today prepare to be on the damp side if you’re going outside. Just the way it is.

Beginning our day bright but will end up in clouds. Look for rain tonight and tomorrow – but then none again until about Wednesday. We do need the rain, so it’s good we’re in line to get some. And we are still grateful it’s only rain and not the heavy snow already falling out in the west. Not any where near ready for that.

Friday, Nov. 8, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoying Sunshine

Currently 52 with an average wind from the SW of 6 mph. Feels like 52 degrees. Dew Point 43, Humidity 70%, Barometer 30.16, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:26 am, Sunset 5:25 pm.

Clear with an overnight low in the lower 30s. N winds 5-10 mph becoming NE during the night hours.

Very bright but also chilly. That’s the name of the game for us from now on. We’ll take the chill as long as we keep getting the sunshine. We all know it won’t be forever before that dread S word starts showing up in our forecast. So far, so good. And it can hold off as long as possible for most of us.

Sunny today with a high in the mid 50s. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the afternoon.

Mostly clear with an overnight low in the lower 40s. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Not a bad day. A little on the chilly side but then this is mostly the light jacket weather we’ll be in – until we won’t. Then we’re find our way into heavier jackets. At least it’s bright out there and that’s something. Michigan gets entirely too many cloudy days in the winter months so we appreciate those that aren’t.  Still looking for rain on Sunday, other than that, clear weather seems to be ours.

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Clouds, Maybe Some Rain

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Clouds, Maybe Some Rain

Currently 52 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 52 degrees. Dew Point 50, Humidity 91%, Barometer 29.99, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 5:27 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper 30s. Light winds.

As of now, it appears as if the rain has been removed from Saturday but alas…not from Sunday. So a sort of half and half enjoyable weekend. Temperatures are to remain about what they are now, we’ve settled firmly into November and not really expecting any brilliant splashes of warmth now. Hopefully, not expecting any deep dips into the colder areas yet either. We are sort of in the middle of it all.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024-SW Michigan-Another Gloomy Day

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024-SW Michigan-Another Gloomy Day

Currently 64 with an average wind from the SSE of 6 mph. Feels like 64 degrees. Dew Point 62,, Humidity 94%, Barometer 29.79, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 5:28 pm.

80% chance of overnight rain with a low in the upper 40s. SW winds 10-20 mph becoming W with gusts to 35.

Another day with no sunshine and the chance of rain. After today, some dry days on the way with no more rain until…yup, you got it. The weekend. Seems to be a fall thing. But then again, no point in trying to find time to go out leaf peeping. Those leaves are now all brown and on the ground for the most part. Still for many folks the weekend is their opportunity for doing outdoor chores – tasks always out there waiting to be done. Well, perhaps not many will get done this weekend. Never know, though. Maybe the rain will be light or even manage to skip us. That last one not very likely but I guess we’ll see how it goes. Good idea to have some indoor chores on the list just in case.

Monday, Nov. 4, 2024-SW Michigan-Rainy Start To Week

A gloomy beginning to our week but with needed rain. Haven’t had as much of it as we’ve needed so these few days of rainy weather are not fun but welcome. And we can be grateful it’s only rain and not snow.

Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024-SW Michigan-Look For Rain Later Today

Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024-SW Michigan-Look For Rain Later Today

Currently 51 with an average wind from the E of 7 mph. Feels like 51 degrees. Dew Point 39, Humidity 65%, Barometer 30.23, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 5:31 pm.

Looks a lot like rain will move in later today. And once it gets here, seems as if rain is in the forecast until about Wednesday. Hopefully you were able to gather up a lot of those fallen leaves left by our high wind by now ’cause you won’t get much of an opportunity again for a while. Not very colorful out there now with so many of the leaves down. Lots of bare sticks left behind. Sure is looking a lot like November.

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024-SW Michigan-Chilly Sunshine Today

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024-SW Michigan-Chilly Sunshine Today

Currently 39 with an average wind from the NE of 4 mph. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 35, Humidity 85%, Barometer 30.41, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:19 am, Sunset 6:32 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the lower 50s. Light winds.

Partly cloudy with a low in the mid 30s. SE winds around 10 mph tonight.

Found some ice in the birdbath this morning. Appears to be time to turn it on at night now. November is starting out on the chilly side, as it should. As it must. After all, we’re now rapidly heading into the winter months. They’ll be here sooner than you imagine. Seems like we were just waiting for spring and now we’re at the other end. Would must prefer it to be the opposite but I haven’t much say in the matter. Aiming to get out and rake leaves out of my tiny backyard area – hopefully for the last time this year.  The past few days of harsh winds have managed to cram a ton of them up close to my backdoor again. Had enough of that, now. Shouldn’t complain, however, won’t be long and I’ll be complaining about the snow in my backyard needing to be moved. Alas…

Friday, Nov. 1, 2024-SW Michigan-Winds Finally Calm

Friday, Nov. 1, 2024-SW Michigan-Winds Finally Calm

Currently 43 with and average wind from the NW of 11 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 36, Humidity 76%, Barometer 30.22, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:17 am, Sunset 6:33 pm.

20% chance of an early shower.  Cloudy for the most part with possible peeks of sunshine later today. High 51. WNW winds 10-15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 30. N winds 5-10 mph.

Yesterday’s wind was fierce. Trees are looking mighty different today from just a few days ago. Also our temperature is down considerable, too. And it’s going to stay there. No need to be looking for anymore 70s or near 80s…not for some time to come. It was nice while it lasted but alas….it’s now long gone, blown away by some persistent high winds. Looks like Saturday I’ll be back out in my little backyard with a rake again. Hopefully for the last time this year. And so starts the month of November in Michigan.
