Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of evening snow showers. Low in the upper 20s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Seems as if we’re not quite finished with winter just yet – or snow. Could get a bit more of it tonight, tomorrow. Never fear, our temperatures are set to begin rising on Sunday and next week is looking good. We aren’t finished with the 30 degrees yet either…likely week after next we could see another cold spell. The thing is these cold spots are hopefully getting farther apart with warmer days filling in between them.  Not a particularly comfortable weekend yet, but they’re coming along.

Rain today but Winter Storm Lola will brush by us probably bringing us some snow overnight…and wind. Won’t last and won’t be appreciated but it’s likely to happen tonight. This is going to drop us down into the 40 degree range for a while but beginning next week we’ll warm back up again. Mother Nature just couldn’t resist toss one last (hopefully) winter storm to march across the country.  Look forward and thing spring warmth…we’ll be there before you know it.

Tuesday, March 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Couple Of Rainy Days

Tuesday, March 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Couple Of Rainy Days

100% chance of overnight rain. Low in the lower 40s. SE winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Temperatures will be on the comfortable side today and tomorrow, but with rain. That will end on Thursday however the temperature will be decidedly cooler again. Could see a brief peek of the sun on Thursday and I guess if that happens we need to rejoice in it ’cause it sure doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen often in the near future. In fact we might even see a flake or two of snow on Friday. Seems to be our pattern now – up and down temperatures, rain, snow, seldom but welcome sunshine. We’ll get it all as we head into spring, hoping it will all end up in glorious green, sunny days before too long.

Monday, March 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Not Done With Wintry Weather Just Yet

Monday, March 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Not Done With Wintry Weather Just Yet

70% chance of overnight rain. Low in the mid30s. S winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Not bad temperatures for a few days but watch for those numbers to dip again about Thursday through Saturday. And we’ll be seeing a bit of snow now and then. There is yet another Winter Storm moving through across the country this week. Winter Storm Lola. Not sure about what we’ll get from this one but I know we’ll be getting rain mid week and likely at least some snow. Warm ups so far seem to be fleeting but I’m confident that eventually they will lengthen. Personally, I can’t wait. Guess I’ll have to but not with good over abundant happiness about it.

Sunday, March 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Hanging On To February Chill

Sunday, March 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Hanging On To February Chill

Not warming up yet but by next Wednesday we might see 50 degrees. We’ll see some rain for the beginning of the week but a warm up coming is enough to make that unimportant. We will, of course, see a fluctuation of temperatures but peering into the future I’m seeing some 50 even a 60 degree day coming up fairly soon. Going to seem heavenly.

Saturday March 1, 2025-SW Michigan-March Not Coming In Very Nice

Saturday March 1, 2025-SW Michigan-March Not Coming In Very Nice

Currently 19 with an average wind from the WNW of 10 mph. Feels like 9 degrees. Dew Point 8, Barometer 29.96, Humidity 63%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:18 am, Sunset 6:31 pm.

Partly cloudy. Low 15-20. NW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the afternoon.

Okay, so maybe March doesn’t especially want to be nice right now. Seems to be coming in on a rather low note. Look for rain the beginning of the week and perhaps a bit of snow around Wednesday or Thursday. Sooner or later the month should start behaving and get with the plan. You know, the plan to have spring move in and shove winter entirely out of the picture. Might be slightly off schedule to start with.  Just don’t be too hasty about packing away winter things just yet. Eventually. In the meantime simply take heart that the month of February is out of here for the year. That’s a grand step in the right direction.

Friday, Feb. 28, 2025-SW Michigan-Wind Advisory In Effect Today

Friday, Feb. 28, 2025-SW Michigan-Wind Advisory In Effect Today

Currently 36 with an average wind from the SE of 6 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 31, Barometer 29.5, Humidity 79%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 6:30 pm.Wind Advisory in effect today from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Wind gusts to 50 mph possible.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain/snow showers. Low around 20. NW winds 15-25 with gusts to 40.

It appears the wind is determined to blow away the last of the month of February. Alas…it will also blow in some chilly temperatures for this weekend. We won’t get out of the 30 degree range through Sunday. Those numbers should rebound nicely by Monday but this will not be a spring-like weekend. Not a particularly nice beginning for the month of March but then even though March could be nice, March can also be a tad shaky as far as keeping temperatures even throughout. In the meantime, hold on to your hat today ’cause the wind is going to start whipping things around. Don’t want you to be one of those things so be cautious.

Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Morning For Us

Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Morning For Us

Currently 36 with an average wind from he SSW of 4 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 29.72, Humidity 100%, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 7:22 am, Sunset 6:29 pm.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and rain/snow showers. High around 40. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and rain/snow showers. Low in the upper 20s. NW winds 5-15 becoming SW 5-10 with gusts to 25 overnight.

Another nearly colorless sky waiting for us this morning with the air full of…not sure. Not quite snow or fog or whatever. Just thick wintry air? Not quite spring-like weather getting to us for a while. Chance of a frozen mix situation showing up before the month ends. This will leave us with a very chilly weekend to begin the month of March. Our temperatures will rise again at the beginning of the week. We will, of course, have a dip in the numbers about mid week – those will be in the 30s and will promptly rise again quite quickly. Up and down numbers seem to be the way it goes in early spring here. In the meantime we need to get past this cold weekend. We can do that, knowing the weather will improve as a reward. March. Seems like it’s been about forever waiting for this month to get here. And we all know…MARCH COULD BE NICE.

Wednesday Feb. 26, 2025-SW Michigan-Not Finished With Cold Temps Yet

Wednesday Feb. 26, 2025-SW Michigan-Not Finished With Cold Temps Yet

Currently 36 with a 2 mph wind from the E. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 29.88, Humidity 94%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunrise 6:27 pm.

70% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with freezing rain and snow showers until midday then afternoon rain. High in the lower 40s. E winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

60% chance of rain showers. Low in the mid 30s. NE winds 5-10 mp becoming NW overnight.

February is going to depart in a fairly comfortable manner, but March seems intent on beginning with some cold numbers. This is going to be a chilly weekend. Never fear – once that clipper system is finished with us, things will warm up again. As usual, this time of year we can expect rounds of rain…and unfortunately from time to time that precipitation could be mixed with a little frozen mix or snow showers. Only thing to do is celebrate the good days and get through those not so much in that category.  We can do this. We’re heading into Spring and that can only be good.

Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Fluctuations Natural

Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Fluctuations Natural

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 29.74, Humidity 80%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:25 am, Sunset 6:26 pm.

Partly sunny with a high in the mid 40s. NW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of light freezing rain overnight. Patchy fog. Low in the upper 20s. Light winds.

It’s that time of year when our temperatures will be up and down, we’ll get some rain, some freezing rain, a bit of snow. About the only thing we can do is be aware of weather circumstances and be careful. It’s the freezing rain stuff that is the worst. Chance tonight, perhaps Wednesday, maybe Friday. This is the one that creates the most hazardous driving, walking. Be careful. And look for some chilly temperatures to return to us over the weekend.
