Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Winter Storm Cait Due Today

Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023-SW Michigan-Winter Storm Cait Due Today

Currently 28 with an average wind of 3 mph from the SE. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 25, Barometer 29.73, Humidity 85%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:48 am, Sunset 5:10 pm.

100% chance of snow today. 1-4″ possible. High in the mid 30s. S winds 5-10 mph becoming SW in the afternoon.

90% chance of overnight snow. Patchy blowing snow. 1-2″ possible. Low in the upper 20s. W winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

A blah colorless sky out there this morning, just waiting to be filled in with Winter Storm Cait and her snow. It’s a rather fast moving storm so in a day or so it should be long gone. Not so the winter weather, however. Looking into our future I’m seeing a lot of the snow/rain mix stuff, which is the worst. We’d much rather have all rain or all snow, but when Mother Nature mahes it together, we usually end up with the frozen rain/ice nonsense that is the worst. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how we do through that mess. Hopefully, we’ll all slow down driving and come through it safe and sound. That’s the plan, anyhow.

No question about it, it’s cold out there, but at least it’s dry. Don’t count on that part on Sunday. Looks like we might get 1-3″ of snow. Maybe some on Monday, too. Not sure about that one, but fairly certain of Sunday. I guess it’s that time of year, like it or not. And some of us don’t. Count me in that club. Alas. Nothing to do but haul out the boots and get ready for it.

Today is bright and sunny and an excellent day for a Thanksgiving, We don’t often get a lovely day with this for a November holiday in Michigan. Grateful for this one. Grateful for many things, as a matter of fact, as I hope you are too.

Looks like Winter Storm Cait will be visiting us on Sunday with some snow. Could get 1-3″. Might linger into Monday, I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that part. In the meantime, enjoy today in all it’s joy.

The whole following week looks dry but quite chilly. As of now. We know how things can change, but that’s the picture we’re seeing at present.

You might want to look for snow showers about next Sunday, maybe Monday. But as of now, nothing else like that in store for us during the following week.

I don’t know…from forecasts that included possible snow to wind and rain to…well, plenty of variety…as of now our Thanksgiving holiday appears to set on behaving very well. Comfortable temperatures and dry. That seems to be the picture forming up for now anyway. We’ll take it if that’s what materializes.  Today is lovely. A tad cool, but sunny and bright. I put that in the plus column for a mid-November Sunday in Michigan.

Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Week Ahead

Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Not A Bad Week Ahead

Currently 36 with an average wind from the WSW of 3 mph. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point is 30, Barometer 29.88, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 5:16 pm.

Sunny. High in the upper 40s. SW winds 5-15 mph becoming W 15-20 in the afternoon with gusts to 30 mph.

Clear. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 5-10 in the evening becoming light.

Lots of conflicting reports on what sort of precipitation we’re supposed to get. One even goes so far as to mention snow before Thanksgiving. Most, however, forecast some rain on Tuesday but then nothing of significance the rest of the week. I’m going with those. Could end up with a bit of snow by the end of the month or the beginning of the next month. According to most reports. I guess at this time of year we aren’t going to know until we know. Changeable late fall weather in Michigan isn’t unusual. For now, we can pretty much count on rain for Tuesday.

Friday, Nov. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Real Cool Down On The Way

Friday, Nov. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Real Cool Down On The Way

Currently 46 with an average wind from the SSE of 7 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 38, Barometer 29.74, Humidity 82%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:37 am, Sunset 5:16 pm.

Clear overnight. Low in the upper 20s. NW winds around 10 mph becoming light during the night.

Afraid our comfortable temperatures are becoming a thing of the past. Look for much cooler temperatures by next week and it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that we could see some snow by the end of the month. Alas…winter is definitely on the way.
