Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023-SW Michigan-Only Slight Chance Of Snow Showers Today

Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023-SW Michigan-Only Slight Chance Of Snow Showers Today

Currently 36 with a wind of 3 mph from the NW. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 32, Barometer 30.07, Humidity 82%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:59 am, Sunset 5:07 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of snow showers. High in the upper 30s. NW winds 5-10 mph becoming SW 10-15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain/snow in the evening becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low in the lower 30s. SW winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Not a bad day today and the next few offers us the chance for the possibility of some sunshine through the clouds. All leading up to another soggy weekend. Saturday should have a temperature high enough to bring us rain, but Sunday will be back in the frozen mix range. Could be worse, just be careful driving on Sunday, in case that frozen mix ends up on our roads.

Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Dry Days Coming Up After Today

Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Dry Days Coming Up After Today

Currently 34 with a 2 mph wind from the SE. Feels like 32 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 29.85, Humidity 100%, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 7:58 am, Sunset 5:07 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of snow showers. High in the upper 30s. Light winds becoming N 5-10 in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy with a low in the mid 20s. NW winds around 5 mph.

Got a fair chance of some snow showers today, but the next 3 days after should be precipitation free. Not so much the weekend. Looking like rain on Saturday and maybe more snow than rain on Sunday. The Jet Stream is going to be taking a deep dive down into the country leaving us with the possibility of chilly temperatures over the weekend. This might lead to some snow on Sunday. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Monday, Dec. 4, 2023-SW Michigan-Off And On Messy Weather All Week

Monday, Dec. 4, 2023-SW Michigan-Off And On Messy Weather All Week

Currently 34 with a 1 mph wind from the NNE. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 29.77, Humidity 92%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:57 am, Sunset 5:07 pm.

Mostly cloudy. High in the upper 30s. SW winds 5-10 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of snow showers overnight. Low in the upper 20s. Light winds.

Today seems precipitation free but look for some of the messy mix over the next few days – then off and on throughout the week.  Nothing drastic coming our way for the present but this wintry mix stuff can get old real quick. Nothing to do but cope with it and be careful of road conditions. You never know this time of year – black ice, frozen rain, the list seems to go on forever but all of it can be dangerous and need care in driving.

Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023-SW Michigan-Messy, Chilly Weather

Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023-SW Michigan-Messy, Chilly Weather

Currently 36 degrees with a 3 mph wind from the ESE. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 29.53, Humidity 100%, Visibility 3 mi., Sunrise 7:56 am, Sunset 5:08 pm.

100% chance of rain possibly mixed with snow showers. High in the upper 30s. E winds 5-10 mph becoming NW.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain showers becoming light snow overnight. Low 30. NW winds 5-10 mph.

Just plain miserable out there with that chilly rain/snow mess. I’m fairly sure that most would prefer plain old snow over this stuff. Not that we have a choice. We get what we get. And this sounds like what we’re going to be getting off and on most of this coming week. Alas…it appears to be that time of year in Michigan.

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Freezing Rain Possible Tonight, Tomorrow

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Freezing Rain Possible Tonight, Tomorrow

Currently 34 with a 4 mph wind from the ESE. Dew Point 34, Barometer 29.87, Humidity 100%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:54 am, Sunset 5:08 pm

Mostly cloudy with a high in the upper 30s. NE winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

60% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with freezing rain and snow. Low in the mid 30s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Doesn’t look like any precipitation today but tonight and tomorrow look much more likely. Again, things change and we’re never, or rarely, certain of what’s supposed to be on the way. But that messy wintry weather is out there, just a question of whether it will include us in its path. Be careful and watchful just in case.

Friday, Dec. 1, 2023-SW Michigan-No Bright Sky Today

Friday, Dec. 1, 2023-SW Michigan-No Bright Sky Today

Currently 36 with a 6 mph wind from the E. Feels like 28. Dew Point 34, Barometer 29.75, Humidity 100%, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 7:53 am, Sunset 5:08 pm

100% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with freezing rain until midday then snow later on. Snow accumulation 1″ or less. High in the upper 30s. E winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

80% chance of rain showers mixed with snow showers. Snow accumulation 1″ or less. Low in the lower 30s. NE winds 5-15 mph with gusts to around 25.

What you see is pretty much what we’ll get this entire coming week. As of now. Either during the day or at night. Not exactly a fun week to be out and about doing anything outdoorsy. Nothing drastic, anyway, which is a good thing. Merely dreary. I guess if I have my druthers, I’d pick dreary over drastic any day.

Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Nice Today Not So Much Tonight

Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023-SW Michigan-Nice Today Not So Much Tonight

Currently 32 with a 5 mph wind from the SSW. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 31, Barometer 29.61, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:52 am, Sunset 5:08 pm.

Mostly sunny morning becoming a partly sunny afternoon. High in the upper 40s. SW winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 35.

60% chance of evening rain becoming light freezing rain possibly mixed with rain/snow. Low around 30. NW winds 10 mph with gusts to 20 becoming NE overnight.

Well, we have a pleasant day to enjoy right not but not so much tomorrow. Tomorrow seems to promise more snow than rain. We are now entering the ‘what-on-earth-will-we-get-next’ area. Some days are predicting rain, some snow, some a mix. One good thing for the coming week is that as of now the daytime temperatures seem high enough to keep us from accumulating much of whatever we get. That’s a plus. Guess it pays to pay attention day to day and act accordingly.

Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023-SW Michigan-Got Some Rainy Days On The Way

Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023-SW Michigan-Got Some Rainy Days On The Way

Currently 28 with an average wind of 2 mph from the SW. Dew Point 21, Barometer 29.68, Humidity 78%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:51 am, Sunset 5:09 pm

Cloudy with a high in the mid 30s. SW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy. Low in the upper 20s. SW winds 5-15 mph.

Looks like from about Friday through until next Tuesday or so, we have rain coming. The trouble that might arise from this is the nighttime temperatures may fall into the zone where that rain on the roads and sidewalks could freeze. That could present some dangerous situations. Let’s hope the temperatures fail to cause problems like that and we just have rain to cope with.

Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoying Some Morning Sunshine

Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023-SW Michigan-Enjoying Some Morning Sunshine

Currently 25 with an average wind from the WNW of 4 mph. Feels like 14 degrees. Dew Point 17, Barometer 30, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:50 am, Sunset 5:09 pm

Partly sunny in the morning with a 40% chance of snow showers. High in the upper 20s. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight snow showers. Low in the lower 20s. SW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Lots of welcome sunshine showing up this morning and I’m so pleased to see it. Personally, I actually feel like a human being with the sun shines. Anyway, look for possible show showers later on and overnight. Then about this weekend, look for rain/snow…in other words, that miserable wintry mix could show up. Let’s hope not, but the possibility is out there.

Monday, Nov. 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Snow But Didn’t Get Dumped On

Monday, Nov. 27, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Snow But Didn’t Get Dumped On

Currently 28 with an average wind for 6 mph from the WNW. Feels like 18 degrees. Dew Point 19, Barometer 29.74, Humidity 77%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 5:10 pm.

70% snow showers. High in the upper 20s. W winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

80% snow showers. 1-2″ possible. Low 15-20. NW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Winter Storm Cait didn’t treat us all that badly. We failed to get much snow here in my area although other spots in Michigan found themselves with much more precipitation. Still expecting a bit of snow today and tonight, but no big amounts called for. Later in the week we’ll see rain – hopefully not that miserable wintry mix that turns things slick and dangerous. It is definitely winter here now.
