Going to be nippy today and tomorrow but we can look forward to some 40 degree days next week. Might even see a glimpse of the sun now and then. As of now, nothing harsh in our future, which sounds fine to me.

Chilly enough to keep our snow ground cover in place for a while. Should warm up a bit next week, but don’t be looking for any 70 degrees. Do look for some snow showers perhaps overnight. Maybe Saturday night.

Some overnight clouds. Low 21. WNW winds 10-20 mph.

Winter Weather Advisory in effect until Thursday 11:00 am.

Although the weather channels all seem to be calling for a few inches of snow, I woke up to 5 1/2″ in my backyard and it’s still snowing. Take it from me, having shoveled a path out to where I scatter critter food, it’s a heavy, wet snow. Not fun at all.  Look for a bit more possible Friday and Saturday night. And then again about this same time next week look for more of a winter mess. February has become more true to form than it’s been. Alas….

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024-SW Michigan-Looking For Some Overnight Snow

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024-SW Michigan-Looking For Some Overnight Snow

Currently 30 with an average wind of 3 mph from the SSW. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 22, Barometer 30.25, Humidity 68%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:41 am, Sunset 6:11 pm.

Partly cloudy with an 80% chance of overnight precipitation. A mix of rain and snow. Some sleet or freezing rain to start then snow. 1-2″ possible. Low in the lower 30s. S winds 10 – 20 mph.

Not bad today but getting messy overnight. Look for snow tomorrow, too. Again Friday night through Saturday probably. A break in the mess for a few days and then mid or late next week another round of it. Michigan February weather coming home to roost. Dang it.

Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly Now With Snow Possible Before Weekend

Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Chilly Now With Snow Possible Before Weekend

Currently 32 with a 6 mph wind from the ESE. Feels like 23 degrees. Dew Point 23, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 70%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:43 am, Sunset 6:10 pm.

Partly sunny with a high in the mid 30s. NW winds 10-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 20s. NW winds 5-10 in the evening becoming light.

Definitely feeling like February now. And snow is also definitely in our picture. If not before, then look for it on Thursday. Maybe some on Friday and Saturday, too. We are now presented with the real February as opposed to the pretend version we had earlier. I much prefer the earlier version, but then again I have very little say so in what weather we get.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 20s. NW winds 5-10 becoming SW overnight.

We might see a bit of sunshine the next couple of days, but by the end of the week, it’s going to look and feel more like February winter weather. Frozen mix, snow showers…the usual mess that February is willing and able to toss our way. Today, no precipitation, but no sunshine, either.

Saturday, Feb. 10, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooling Off

Saturday, Feb. 10, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooling Off

Partly cloudy with a low 27. WNW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening becoming light.

Well, goodbye to our 50 degree days. Heading back to February reality now. In fact, be looking for some frozen mix, perhaps some snow showers by the end of next week. We could see a bit of sunshine now and then before that, but no comfortably warm days for a while. It was a lovely ride though while it lasted.

Friday, Feb. 9, 2024-SW Michigan-Another Warm Day For Us

Friday, Feb. 9, 2024-SW Michigan-Another Warm Day For Us

Currently 46 with a 10 mph from the WSW. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 29.76, Humidity 72%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:48 am, Sunset 6:04 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain. Low 33. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 25.

Another warm day for us today, but it’s bound to start on the way down. Look for a few days offering us some sunshine, but there is a very real chance for a couple of days next week presenting snow showers. Doesn’t sound good at this point, but it’s not unusual. This is, after all, February in Michigan. We’ve been given a rare few weeks of outstanding temperatures, but alas….all good things much come to an end. I don’t think we’re going to be seeing any more 50 degree numbers again for a while. But – we’re heading in the right direction so that eventually we’ll be really in that range. Personally, I can’t wait. I will, because I have to. But it won’t be with an abundance of patience.

Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoy Our Above Normal Temps

Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoy Our Above Normal Temps

Currently 46 with a 6 mph wind from the S. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 32, Barometer 29.91, Humidity 29.91, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 6:03 pm.

Partly sunny with a 50% chance of afternoon rain. High around 50. S winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 35.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain. Low in the mid 40s. SW winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 40.

A few more days of these extraordinary February temperatures and then we’ll have to face a bit of reality. Next week’s numbers will be back into the 30s with a chance of a snow shower now and then. That’s what’s in the picture for now, anyway. This has been a remarkable run of high temperatures – not just for us, but for other states, too. Sooner or later the jet stream and the arctic cold will be shifting around and some of the colder numbers dropping down into our area. It’s been some kind of a February, so far though, hasn’t it?
