Monday, May 5, 2025-SW Michigan-Might Get Rain Tonight, Tomorrow

Currently 50 with an average wind from the NE of 5 mph. Feels like 50, Dew Point 51, Barometer 30.01, Humidity 96%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:31 am, Sunset 8:47 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 60s. E 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain. Low in the lower 50s. NE winds 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

We could see a few breaks in the clouds today but nothing spectacular. Likely rain tonight and tomorrow but after that we might be on tap for lots of days with sunshine showing up. Wednesday is the only day with comfortable temperatures but just wait…by Sunday we could be back in the 70s. Sure would be nice to be able to stay there rather than dipping back in to chilly as often as we have.

Picture with so much color courtesy of Glenn. I’m not anywhere to be able to see great evening color or sunsets these days.

Sunday, May 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Expect Some Rain Later On

Sunday, May 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Expect Some Rain Later On

Currently 46 with an average wind from the ESE of4 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:34 am, Sunset 8:45 pm.

100% chance of rain in the afternoon. High in the lower 60s. NE winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

100% chance of overnight rain. low in the upper 40s. NE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Maybe some sunshine tomorrow but look for a bit more rain on Tuesday. As of now – and we all know how fast that can change – it’s looking dry and well into the 70 degrees for the rest of the week. Should be a good one coming up.  This rain and that warmth should go a long way toward helping the trees leaf out and turn beautifully green. They’re trying now but a little help from Mother Nature wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Saturday, May 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Weather Remains

Saturday, May 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Weather Remains

Currently 46 with an average wind from the ESE of 4 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:34 am, Sunset 8:45 pm.

Mostly sunny until midday becoming partly sunny. High around 60. NE winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low around 40. NE winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 25 overnight.

No warm up for us yet. Dry today but chance of rain Sunday through Tuesday. Sunday’s rain might hold off until the night time hours. Don’t be looking for any 70 degree days for the next week. They aren’t going to happen here. Unfortunately. Things are greening up and supposedly the hummingbirds are around. Just no spring-like warmth.

Friday, May 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Cloudy And Cool Today

Friday, May 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Cloudy And Cool Today

Currently 46 with an average wind from the W of 2 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 44, Barometer 29.81, Humidity 93%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:35 am, Sunset 8:44 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high in the upper 50s. NW winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low around 40. NE winds 5-10 mph.

Our lovely weather that we were seemingly getting this coming week has vanished like fog on a sunny morning. Not that we’re going to be seeing many sunny mornings. Maybe we will see some sunshine on Saturday but as of now, that will be the end of that for the next several days. As for those comfortable 70 degrees? Don’t be looking for any of those until next week.  Probably about a week from today, matter of fact. We know that April showers are supposed to bring May flowers…except a lot of that precipitation this April was snow. And the flowers of May appear to be late bloomers for the most part. Ah, Spring…this will be yet another year when that season is more or less a no show.

Thursday, May 1, 2025-SW Michigan-Cool Rain For Us

Thursday, May 1, 2025-SW Michigan-Cool Rain For Us

Currently 50 with an average wind from he ENE of 10 mph. Feels like 50 degrees. Dew Point 45, Barometer 29.72, Humidity 100%, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 6:36 am, Sunset 8:43 pm.

90% chance of rain. High in the mid 60s. SE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 becoming SW in he afternoon.

40% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the lower 40s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the evening.

And just like that there could be a change in what our forecast was just yesterday. Now it appears as if the month of May is going to come in a bit below normal in temperature. And the delightful week of sunshine we were looking at? Some sites are now putting a question to much of that. Could be a whole lot more rain in our future than what we were anticipating. Now who knows whether Sunday will be be clear and sunny or not. I reckon we are simply going to have to move along, day by day, and find out what shows up. But the hopes that May would swoop in all bright and warm seem to have been lost in the shuffle.

Wednesday, April 30, 2025-SW Michigan-Some Rain Before Dry Week Coming

Wednesday, April 30, 2025-SW Michigan-Some Rain Before Dry Week Coming

Currently 43 with an average wind from the ENE of 3 mph. Feels like 43 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 30.16, Humidity 55%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:38 am, Sunset 8:42 pm

Sunny morning becoming a partly sunny afternoon. High in the lower 60s. SSE winds around 5 mph.

90% chance of overnight rain with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Low in the upper 40s. E winds 5-15 mph.

Look for a rainy Thursday but then we should dry out and see no rain coming our way for the next week. In fact, next week will be bringing us back into the 70 degree range. Things are leafing out and greening up. It’s looking nice and spring-like – finally.

Tuesday, April 29, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunshine With Wind Today

Tuesday, April 29, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunshine With Wind Today

Currently 73 with an average wind from the S of 11 mph. Feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 56, Barometer 29.73, Humidity 52%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:39 am, Sunset 8:40 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of morning showers becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. high in the mid 70s. SW winds 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 becoming NW in the afternoon.

Mostly clear with widespread overnight frost possible. Low in the lower 30s. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 25 becoming NE overnight.

Turning into a bright nicely warm day a bit on the windy side, but pleasant anyway.  Unfortunately our temperatures will be dropping through the day to a chilly night. Sunshine tomorrow but the rain on Thursday will once again drop our temperatures, at least for a day or so, back to the lower 60s. We should see some sunshine from Friday right on through every day for the next week. At least some sunshine every day and it’s looking good for our temperatures to be in the 70s next week.

Monday, April 28, 2025-SW Michigan-Slight Risk Of Severe Storms Later

Monday, April 28, 2025-SW Michigan-Slight Risk Of Severe Storms Later

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SE of 6 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 38, Barometer 30.11, Humidity 40%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:41 am, Sunset 8:39 pm.

Sunny until midday becoming partly sunny with a high in the mid 70s. S winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Partly cloudy with a 60% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 60s. S winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 40.

There is a pretty strong chance for storms to the west/south of us but I think it will mostly move on leaving us with only a slight risk for the severity. Other places won’t be so lucky. At any rate we’ll have a chance for some rain later today, tonight, maybe tomorrow. Some sunshine might be ours on Wednesday but then rain again on Thursday. Our pattern continues – some good, some not so much. This will wrap up the month of April and usher us into what we can only hope is a better month. May is on the way.

Sunday, April 27, 2025-SW Michigan-Ready T0 Warm Up Again

Sunday, April 27, 2025-SW Michigan-Ready T0 Warm Up Again

Currently 50 with an average wind from the ENE of 2 mph. Feels like 50 degrees. Dew Point 37, Barometer 30.32, Humidity 52%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:42 am, Sunset 8:38 pm

Mostly sunny today with a high in the mid 60s. Light winds.

Mostly clear with a low in the mid40s. S winds 5-10 mph.

Not so warm today but at least bright with sunshine. Tomorrow and Tuesday will pop us back up into the 70s – and you know what that means according to our weather pattern. Yup – rain and the chance for some storms again. Right back into the 60s on Wednesday as a result. Some signs that the week after we could be enjoying mostly 70s – I guess we have to wait and see but it sounds lovely if that’s what turns out to be the case.

Saturday, April 26, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Pattern Continues

Saturday, April 26, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Pattern Continues

Currently 46 with an average wind from the SSW of 5 mph. Feels like 45 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 30.18, Humidity 69%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:43 am, Sunset 8:37 pm.

Partly sunny through early afternoon the clear. High in the upper 50s. N winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Clear with areas of frost overnight. Low in the mid30s. N winds 5-10 mph in the evening becoming light.

We seem to be stuck in a pattern of a day or two of decent temperatures followed by several cooler than usual days. Same going on this week. Temperatures will build back up through Tuesday bringing us into the comfort of 70 degrees only to see them fall again back in to the lower 60s. There seems to be no way to break out of this so the only thing to do is wait it out and hope things even out in the warm zone pretty soon. At least the green is starting to show up with the trees beginning to leaf out. That’s refreshing to see. Seems like we’ve waiting for about ever for color to grace our landscape.
