Wednesday, May 21, 2025-SW Michigan-Another Chilly Dismal Day

Wednesday, May 21, 2025-SW Michigan-Another Chilly Dismal Day

Currently 46 with an average wind from the NE of 8 mph. Feels like 43 degrees. Dew Point 46, Barometer 29.67, Humidity 100%, Visibility 3 mi., Sunrise 6:13 am, Sunset 9:04 pm.

90% chance of rain showers. High in the lower 50s. NE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

80% chance of rain showers. Low in the mid 40s. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 25.

This is getting old, isn’t it? Chilly days, too much rain, too little sunshine. This month of May has not lived up to its potential. Not even close. And although as of now, the last week appears to be warming up a bit it will be a case of way too little, much too late.

Look for more rain tomorrow with a bit of sunshine over the weekend. It won’t warm up much, sill will be only in the 60s, but hopefully dry. That’s as much of a plus as we can get these days, I reckon

Tuesday, May 20, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Uncomfortable Week Continues

Tuesday, May 20, 2025-SW Michigan-Chilly Uncomfortable Week Continues

Currently 46 with an average wind from the ENE of 8 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:14 am, Sunset 9:03 pm.

90% chance of rain with a high in the mid 50s. E winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 40.

80% chance of rain with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Low in the mid 40s. E winds 15-20 mph with gusts to around 35.

This is simply miserable weather. Way too chilly for heading into the last of May. Look for more rain over the next couple of days and then some sunshine. Just don’t look for that sunshine to be warming things up real soon. It isn’t going to happen. The coming weekend looks bright but again, cooler than it should be. Perhaps next week we’ll be seeing some numbers back in the 70s. We can only hope so.

Monday, May 19, 2025-SW Michigan-Days Of Rain On The Way

Monday, May 19, 2025-SW Michigan-Days Of Rain On The Way

Currently 46 with an average wind from the E of 2 mph. Feels like 45 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 82%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:15 am, Sunset 9:02 pm.

Partly sunny today with a high in the mid 60s. E winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with an overnight low in the lower 40s. E winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Shouldn’t see any rain today but it does look as if the next three or four days will offer just that. So far next weekend does appear to be dry, but still cool. Not the best spring weather but we can be feeling fortunate not to be in that horrendous tornado area once again setting up in the south. Dreadful damage has been done and the fear is that the same areas are in for more of the same. All we can do from here is offer prayers for their safety.

Sunday, May 18, 2025-SW Michigan-Couple Of Dry Days

Sunday, May 18, 2025-SW Michigan-Couple Of Dry Days

Currently 54 with an average wind from the WNW 9 mph. Feels like 54 degrees. Dew Point 44, Barometer 29.9,  Humidity 71%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:16 am, Sunset 9:01 pm.

Partly to mostly cloudy. High in the lower 60s. NW winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy. Low around 40. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

Enjoy these couple of dry days coming our way, but it does look as if the rest of the week offers an opportunity for rain. No big warm up coming either. We just keep on saying maybe the next week will be wonderful…and sooner or later it will be. Perhaps. I don’t know any more. This has been a very disappointing spring and I’m hoping our summer lives up to expectations. At any rate enjoy today. It should be pleasant – at least dry.

Saturday, May 17, 2025-SW Michigan-A Cool Week Ahead

Saturday, May 17, 2025-SW Michigan-A Cool Week Ahead

Currently 50 with an average wind from the SSW of 7 mph. Feels like 46 degrees. Dew Point 48, Barometer 29.52, Humidity 94%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 6:17 am, Sunset 9:00 pm.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 40s. W winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 30 in the evening.

Sad to say but we have yet another week coming up with temperatures in the 60s, even some 50s. This is getting old and the fact that there is nothing we can do about it, even more so. With night time temperatures back into the 40s, I know my heat will be on for at least another week. Hopefully the following week will see us comfortably back into the 70 degree range. Fingers crossed.

Friday, May 16, 2025-SW Michigan-Was A Rough Night For Some

Friday, May 16, 2025-SW Michigan-Was A Rough Night For Some

Currently 70 with an average wind from the SSE of 4 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 54, Barometer 25.61, Humidity 49%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:18 am, Sunset 8:59 pm.

90% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the lower 50s. S winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Except for a lot of rumbling thunder, my area didn’t get much of anything last night. Not so other parts of the state. They weren’t as fortunate as active tornadoes were around and about. That was quite a line of storms that rolled through Michigan. Today look for sunshine. Probably some rain overnight and tomorrow but Sunday and Monday are looking fine and dandy.

Thursday, May 15, 2025-SW Michigan-Watch For Severe Weather This Evening

Thursday, May 15, 2025-SW Michigan-Watch For Severe Weather This Evening

There is a likely chance of some strong storms this evening. High wind, tornadoes, large hail…the opportunity will be present for all of that so just be aware and be prepared.

A slight chance of some rain tomorrow but then hopefully none again until about next Tuesday and Wednesday. A much cooler weekend but hopefully with some sunshine.

Wednesday, May 14, 2025-SW Michigan-Temperature To Rise

Wednesday, May 14, 2025-SW Michigan-Temperature To Rise

Currently 66 with an average wind from the SSE of 2. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 64, Barometer 29.79, Humidity 85%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 6:20 am, Sunset 8:57 pm.

60% chance of showers with a chance for a thunder storm in the afternoon. High in the lower 70s. Light winds.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers with a chance for a thunderstorm overnight. Low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Humid and damp this morning and not likely to improve. Look for our temperature to rise well into the 80s tomorrow and Friday then take a dip down into the 60s for the weekend. Next week doesn’t appear to be warming back up real soon. Seems set to stay in the 60s for the entire week with plenty of opportunity for rain. Doesn’t look like a stellar week coming up for us, sorry to say.

A bit humid and damp this morning. Look for some rain until Friday. Perhaps some thunderstorms around Wednesday or Thursday could end up being a bit robust. Appears to be sunshine from Friday though to next Tuesday but our temperatures for the weekend will definitely be much lower than yesterday or today. It’s back to the 60s for next week for us.

Monday, May 12, 2025-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today’s Sunshine And Warmth

Monday, May 12, 2025-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today’s Sunshine And Warmth

Currently 55 with an average wind from the ENE of 5 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 40, Barometer 30.33, Humidity 52%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:24 am, Sunset 8:54 pm.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight rain. Low in the lower 60s. SE winds 5-10 mph.

Today is a lovely day. Bright and warm. Doesn’t get much better than this. Of course, we’ll pay for it with some rain and eventually lower temperatures. That’s the way it goes around here. Look for rain from Tuesday through the next several days.  Next weekend will be a lot cooler than this one was.
