Thursday, April 10, 2025-SW Michigan-A Dismal Day But Sunshine Tomorrow

Thursday, April 10, 2025-SW Michigan-A Dismal Day But Sunshine Tomorrow

Currently 34 with an average wind from the NE of 6 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 30.06, Humidity 100%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:09 am, Sunset 8:19 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. High in the mid 40s. NE winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming clear. Low in the upper 20s. NE winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

Look for a few degrees warmer starting tomorrow. Probably sunshine Friday and Saturday with sun and clouds on Sunday. The warmth will last through Monday but Monday will also bring along some rain. That will usher us right back down into some cold temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday. So far, there seems to be no end to this pattern but we can hope this will be the end of it. We would most certainly feel better if once some warm weather moved in it would stay the course and not give way to yet more chill. We’re getting toward the middle of April so it sure is time for winter to let loose any remaining grip and fade away. Waiting for that fade…

Wednesday, April 9, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Pattern Getting Old

Wednesday, April 9, 2025-SW Michigan-Weather Pattern Getting Old

Currently 32 with an average wind from the SSE of 5 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 17, Barometer 30.13, Humidity 48%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:11 am, Sunset 8:17 pm.

70 % chance of afternoon rain. High in the mid 40s. S winds 5-10 with gusts to 20 in the afternoon.

80% chance of rain and snow. Low in the lower 30s. SSE winds 5-10 mph becoming E overnight.

This is a tiresome pattern with our weather. A few fairly warm days with a whole lot more of them on the chilly side. And the word snow insists on creeping into our story. We can, happily, look for sunshine this coming Friday through Sunday, but watch out for the weather around next Tuesday and Wednesday. We’re going to be dipping back down into the 40s. Hard to imagine, but that’s what we’re looking at for now. Wishing and fingers crossed and all that doesn’t seem to be working for bringing a decent spring into the area. Just isn’t going to be happening this time around.

Tuesday, April 8, 2025-SW Michigan-Cold Stays With Us

Tuesday, April 8, 2025-SW Michigan-Cold Stays With Us

Currently 28 with an average wind from the NW of 6 mph. Feels like 25 degrees. Dew Point 16, Barometer 30.12, Humidity 63%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:12 am, Sunset 8:16 pm.

Partly sunny with a 30% chance of flurries. High in the mid 30s. NW winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with an overnight low in the mid 20s. Light winds becoming S 5-10 mph.

No warm up for us and the opportunity for a few snow flakes hangs around for a few more days. No way could we ever have imagined that we’d welcome 50 let alone 40 degree days as spring. But alas…we’ve had to deal with far too many of them lingering in the 30s. Look for rain tomorrow and Thursday…very likely a snowflake mixed in there somewhere. This should let up by Friday and our temperatures should start to rise again to where it’s at least comfortable. Perhaps some sun Friday through the weekend, which will be refreshing. And with any luck our temperature will go from the 40s on Friday clear up into the possible 60 degree mark on Sunday. Fingers crossed that we are finally nearing the end of the tunnel and looking at better weather ahead.

Monday, April 7, 2025-SW Michigan-No Warmth For Us Yet

Monday, April 7, 2025-SW Michigan-No Warmth For Us Yet

Currently 39 with an average wind of 8 mph from the WNW. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 30, Barometer 29.74, Humidity 72%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:14 am, Sunset 8:15 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain/snow showers until midday becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. High in the upper 30s. W winds 10-20 mph becoming N 15-20 with gusts to 35 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy with an overnight low in the lower 20s. NW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 30.

There simply is no spring warm up in our forecast yet – not for a few more days. Look for a bit of sunshine tomorrow, but nothing warm. Wednesday and Thursday still chilly with some rain. After that – fingers crossed – our temperatures will rise a bit more into what we usually expect from spring.  Keep the jackets at hand and the hopes for better high.

Sunday, April 6, 2025-SW Michigan-No Warm Up For Us

Sunday, April 6, 2025-SW Michigan-No Warm Up For Us

Currently 39 with an average wind from the NE of 2 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 19, Barometer 30.12, Humidity 43%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:16 am, Sunset 8:14 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the mid 40s. NW winds round 5 mph becoming W in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy with a 50% chance of snow showers. Low in the lower 30s. SW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

No sign yet that this is April. Spring might be in the air, but not necessarily here. Looking for the chance of snow showers yet tomorrow. Seriously? This is not the spring that we’ve been waiting for. Cold Monday and Tuesday but a tad warmer after that. Let’s hope this is the end of the wintry stuff. Goodness knows we’ve had more than our share. Even a late spring we’d be happy with at this point. But it would be nice to have some sort of spring before it’s suddenly summer. In the meantime, keep bundled up and wishful. Eventually sunshine and warmth will be ours.

Saturday, April 5, 2025-SW Michigan-Cool Tomorrow, Colder After That

Saturday, April 5, 2025-SW Michigan-Cool Tomorrow, Colder After That

Currently 39 with an average wind from the NE of 8 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 30.34, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:19 am, Sunset 8:12 pm

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. High in the lower 50s. N winds 5-10 mph becoming NW 10-15 mph in the afternoon with gust to 25.

Partly cloudy. Low in the mid 20s. NW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 in the evening becoming light.

Cooler tomorrow and then downright cold on Monday and Tuesday. Look for the chance of some snowflakes on Monday. Will this never end this year? We keep wishing that’s the end of it but then again comes yet another bout of cold with snowflakes. This is, after all, April and we’re good and sick of wintry stuff. Hopefully after Tuesday, the temperatures will once again rise and we’ll be getting into the warmth we are expecting and hoping for. Fingers crossed.

Friday, April 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunny Today, Maybe Rain Tonight

Friday, April 4, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunny Today, Maybe Rain Tonight

Currently  39 with an average wind from the NE of 8 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 30.34, Humidity 78%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:19 am, Sunset 8:12 pm.

Mostly sunny morning becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of afternoon rain. High in the mid 50s. E winds 5-10 mph.

100% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper 30s. NE winds 10 mph with gusts to 20.

Nothing different on the way. Temperatures about the same for a day or two and then another dive down into the 30s for the beginning of the week. We will get some rain along the way. Hopefully after our repeat of the 30 degrees we’ll be heading up into the 50s. And even more hopefully, will stay there. It would be lovely to be able to put away the winter coats. It’s more than about time.

Thursday, April 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Pleasant But Not Too Warm Yet

Thursday, April 3, 2025-SW Michigan-Pleasant But Not Too Warm Yet

Currently 48 with an average wind from the SSW of 9 mph. Feels like 43 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 29.84, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi. Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 8:10 pm.

Mostly sunny morning becoming a partly sunny afternoon. high in the upper 40s. W winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 40.

Partly cloudy with a low in the mid 30s. NW winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

Nice bright sunshine peeking around the clouds today but it’s not offering a whole lot of warmth. Look for a bit warmer tomorrow and maybe Saturday, but Saturday will also usher in some rain. That, of course, will bring us more cool temperatures ending up with yet another week beginning in the 30 degree range. Getting tiresome? Indeed it is.

Wednesday, April 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Rain With Possible Storms

Wednesday, April 2, 2025-SW Michigan-Rain With Possible Storms

Currently 32 with an average wind from the ENE of 11 mph. Feels like 23 degrees, Dew Point 53, Barometer 29.77, Humidity 100%, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 8:09 pm.

Patchy fog until about midday. Rain with chance of thunderstorms. Some of the thunderstorms maybe be severe in the afternoon. High around 60. SE winds 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 deceasing to 30 by day’s end.

70% chance of rain with the possibility of thunderstorms in the evening becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low in the mid 40s. SW winds 10-120 with gusts to 30.

Been raining since I woke up this morning and looks to be an all day affair.  Already had a couple loud crashes of thunder -which scared my cat silly. Be aware that we could get some wind and severe thunderstorms later today. Don’t rule out a tornado alert. I think it would be lovely to have a simple rainy day with no dramatics involved. That isn’t what we have in store for today.

Watch for our temperatures to take yet another dip the beginning of next week. Could even see a snowflake or two on Monday. I’m hoping things change by then, but not counting on it. Hard to imagine but it looks like the month of April just took up the baton from March and is running along with it – in spite of what we expected or would prefer.

Tuesday, April 1, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunshine Today, Storms Tomorrow

Tuesday, April 1, 2025-SW Michigan-Sunshine Today, Storms Tomorrow

Currently 28 with an average wind from the NNE 6. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 22, Barometer 30.19, Humidity 68%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:25 am, Sunset 8:08 pm.

Sunny until about midday becoming partly sunny. High in the mid 40s. E winds 5-15 mph.

90% chance of snow/rain/freezing rain overnight. Low in the lower 30s. E winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 35.

Today will be a calm one but head’s up about tomorrow. Look for a possible repeat of the severe stuff we got the other day.

Winter Storm Omari is racing across the country and most of wintry part of this will be way north of our area with definitely severe weather much more to the south. However, we will find ourself more or less in the center of it all. Neither the measurable snow to the north nor the high risk of tornado and flooding issues to the south. So…tonight will likely bring us our version – some wind with snow and rain. Tomorrow be aware that we could be in for a bit of all of it with a few severe storms, so just be ready in case.
