Nothing to do but enjoy the sunshine when it shows up. Looks like days with a mix of sun and clouds for us for a while but the temperature is set to rise and give us a handful of 70 degree days over the next week. Perhaps rain on Friday but so far the weekend is looking dry and at least in the 60 degrees. Not shabby.

A little morning rain but that should be it until about about Friday. We should see sunshine every day until then – and once past Friday, we should be seeing a pleasant and dry weekend. It all sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? I think we’re getting there.

Not a bad beginning for our Easter Sunday but look for clouds and the chance for rain later on. Look also for rain tomorrow but that will be followed by a couple days of sunshine as a  reward.

Have a blessed Easter.

Saturday, April 19, 2025-SW Michigan-Another Cool Weekend For Us

Saturday, April 19, 2025-SW Michigan-Another Cool Weekend For Us

Our Easter weekend will be in the 50s but next week will be returning to the 60 degree range – even some 70 degree days – maybe. Easter Day should be partly cloudy in the morning with the chance of some rain in the afternoon. Monday more rain but after that a few sunny days to make up for it. Anyway, not looking at rain today but definitely not looking at any sunshine either. Just the way it is this year…not a bright sunny Easter weekend this time around.

Friday, April 18, 2025-SW Michigan-Stormy Day For Us

Friday, April 18, 2025-SW Michigan-Stormy Day For Us

Currently 64 with an average wind from he WNW of 3 mph. Feels like 64 degrees. Dew Point 53, Barometer 29.76, Humidity 100%, Visibility 2.2 mi., Sunrise 6:56 am, Sunset 8:28 pm.

Mostly cloudy with an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms. High in the mid 70s. SW winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

70% chance of overnight rain and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 40s. SW winds 15-20 with  gusts to 30 becoming 10-15.

The day actually started out with a peek of sun trying to work it’s way through the trees but very quickly dissolved into some severe storms. Lightening so close you could hear it sizzle and with the resulting thunder loud enough to scare the whiskers off the cat. Going to be one of those days, I think, so best to be aware of the weather alerts. Lucky by now most of us have things like a smart phone that keeps us immediately up to date with what the weather gurus need us to know. Cooler and calmer over the weekend but we can be looking at lots of 60 degree days and even some in the 70s next week. This will be improving.

Thursday, April 17, 2025-SW Michigan-Expect Rain Tonight Through Friday Night

Thursday, April 17, 2025-SW Michigan-Expect Rain Tonight Through Friday Night

Currently 41 with an average wind from the E of 3 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew Point 31, Barometer 30.11, Humidity 67%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:57 am, Sunset 8:27 pm.

Mostly sunny until midday becoming mostly cloudy. High in the mid 60s. S wind 5-15 mph with gusts to 30.

60% chance of rain. Low in the lower 50s. S winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 35.

Warmer tomorrow but that warmth is likely to bring us some thunderstorms. Those will then lead to a cooler weekend, back into the 50s. We seem to be stuck in this pattern. But next week is looking like a lot of 60 degree days. Don’t see a single one sliding back into the 40s. Perhaps that’s all washed up for the season. Let’s hope so.

Wednesday, April 16, 2025-SW Michigan-Warmth Building To Possible Storms Friday

Wednesday, April 16, 2025-SW Michigan-Warmth Building To Possible Storms Friday

Currently 36 with an average wind from the WNW of 5 mph. Feels like 32, Dew Point 28, Barometer 30.08, Humidity 67%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:59 am, Sunset 8:25 pm.

Sunny with a high in the lower 50s. NW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 until about midday.

Mostly clear with a low around 30. Light winds becoming E 10 mph.

Should be warmer tomorrow leading up to 70 degrees on Friday. Trouble is that nice, welcome warmth on Friday is also very likely to usher in some severe storms during the day and night time hours. Just be aware and keep an eye on the sky. A drop of 20 degrees for Saturday, of course, and still only in the 50s for Easter Sunday. Looking at plenty of 60 degree days the coming week, however. Should be a good week coming our way, as of now.

Tuesday, April 15, 2025-SW Michigan-Possible Snowflakes Today

Tuesday, April 15, 2025-SW Michigan-Possible Snowflakes Today

Currently 36 with an average wind from the WSW of 9 mph. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 34, Barometer 29.75, Humidity 90%, Visibility 3 mi., Sunrise 7:01 am, Sunset 8:24 pm.

Partly cloudy with a low around 30. NW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to around 30.

Quite chilly today but it will warm up starting tomorrow – actually building to a nicely warm Friday. Only trouble is that is going to be accompanied by Friday thunderstorms. Cooler for the weekend with temperatures in the 50s. Don’t give up. Warm temperatures are bound to settle in properly at some point this month. I have this urge to say…or not…but I refuse to give in and give up. Eventually I’m sure we’ll be able to move the winter wardrobe to the back of the closet and bring up the warm weather stuff. Counting on it.

Monday, April 14, 2025-SW Michigan-Starting The Week With Some Sunshine

Monday, April 14, 2025-SW Michigan-Starting The Week With Some Sunshine

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SSW of 3 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 29.63, Humidity 56%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:02 am, Sunset 8:23 pm.

Partly sunny until midday becoming mostly sunny. high in the lower 60s. W winds 10-15 mph increasing to 15-25 mph in the afternoon with gusts to around 40.

Partly cloudy with a 70% chance of overnight rain possibly mixed with snow showers. Low in the mid 30s. W winds 15-20 with gusts to 35.

Not a bad day for the beginning of the week. Sunshine is always welcome even if we’re all still waiting for cozy weather to settle in. Tomorrow is going to be dipping back down into the too chilly range but maybe that will end it? We keep hoping but alas…If only our temperatures would climb up into at least the 60 degree range and stay there. Then if variety is needed, heading higher might be refreshing rather than crashing back down into the 40s. We’ll see how it goes. But none of us are putting away our winter jackets just yet.

Sunday, April 13, 2025-SW Michigan-Too Many Day With Possible Rain

Sunday, April 13, 2025-SW Michigan-Too Many Day With Possible Rain

Currently 50 with an average wind of 7 mph from the SE. Feels like 50 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 29.98. Humidity 47%, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:04 am, Sunset 8:22 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of afternoon rain. High in the upper 50s. S winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Cloudy in the evening becoming party cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. Low in the upper 40s. S winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Chance of rain today, tomorrow, Tuesday…probably later in the week, too. Plus we can see our temperature drop once again into the 40s this week- which could bring a snow flake or two along with the rain. This is, once again, not a grand spring week. We keep waiting and watching and wishing…but so far, we aren’t getting much in the area of results. Alas…
