Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today’s Sunshine

Currently 34 with an average wind fro he SW of 4 mph. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 28, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.32, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 5:10 pm

Partly sunny becoming mostly sunny today with a high in the upper 30s. W winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy. Low in the lower 20s. W winds around 10 mph with gusts to around 20.

It may be chilly out there but at least today it’s bright. Might be out last one so I’d suggest you enjoy it as much as you can. Except for a brief exception, our temperatures will be dipping into downright cold. And most sites are showing some form of precipitation for many of our days. Not sure yet what Thanksgiving Day will present for us to be driving in, but it will be a pleasant surprise if it’s dry. Big cold system marching from west to east across the country so we’re not the only ones heading into cold weather. Doesn’t make it any more comfortable but it’s nice to share, isn’t it?

Monday, Nov. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Weather To Deteriorate

Monday, Nov. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Weather To Deteriorate

Currently 41 with an average wind from the NNE of 6 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 41, Humidity 100%, Barometer 29.83, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 7:48 am, Sunset 5:11 pm.

70% chance of rain showers. High in the upper 40ds. E winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 becoming W in the afternoon.

Cloudy with a 50 % chance of rain or rain/snow showers. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Today and tomorrow, as dreary as  they are, will be the highlights of the week. Seriously. The temperature is due to keep falling and most days after tomorrow will include either snow showers or a frozen mix. Nothing pleasant in store weather-wise, that’s a given.  Thanksgiving Day could be messy for driving. If so, just be careful and watchful of what ever weather is given us. And try to be thankful. Things could be worse.

Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024-SW Michigan-Cold And Snow Heading Our Way

Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024-SW Michigan-Cold And Snow Heading Our Way

Currently 42 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 40 degrees. Dew Point 39, Humidity 90%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:46 am, Sunset 5:11 pm.

60% chance of rain showers.  Low in the lower 40s. SW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

If we’re fortunate enough to get any sunshine this coming week, it will happen on Tuesday. It’ll be cold, but there is that outside chance for some brightness on that one day. The rest of the week? Forget about it! Not much ahead but cold temperatures, snow showers, frozen mix…you name it and if it’s uncomfortable, that’s what’s in our picture. Alas…

Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Heading Into Snow Showers Season

Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Heading Into Snow Showers Season

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SW 2 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 38. Barometer 29.99, Humidity 92%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:45 am, Sunset 5:12 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a chance of sprinkles. High in the mid 40s. W winds 5-15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the mid 30s. Light winds.

Tomorrow sounds dry during the day but the chance for rain returns during the Sunday night hours. After that the opportunity for precipitation continues for what looks like forever. Rain, show showers, frozen mix…it all shows up in one form or another from day to day so I reckon we’ll just have to keep an eye out for whatever we get. Fingers crossed that Thanksgiving Day stays dry with clear roads.

Friday, Nov. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Ain’t No Sunshine In Our Skies

Friday, Nov. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Ain’t No Sunshine In Our Skies

Currently 42 with an average wind from he W of 6 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 100%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:44 am, Sunset 5:13 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of overnight rain. Low around 40. NW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 in the evening.

Looking at clouds and the possibility of more rain today and tonight. Rain on Sunday night will usher in what looks like an entire week of precipitation. Everything mentioned from rain to snow showers to frozen mix. Sounds like a lousy week of weather. Or not. Could end up just clouds but on the other hand some of the weather sites mention snow right from then on of some sort of another. ‘Tis the season, I suppose.

Thursday, Nov. 21 2024-SW Michigan-First Snow Of Season

Thursday, Nov. 21 2024-SW Michigan-First Snow Of Season

Currently 33 with an average wind from the SSE of 2 mph. Feels like 29 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 29.52, Humidity 100%, Visibility 3 mi. Sunrise 7:43 am, Sunset 5:13 pm.

40% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the lower 30s. NW winds around 10 mph with gusts to 20.

Woke to find a dusting of snow here and there. Not, for some of us, a happy sight. Expecting the possibility of a bit of measurable snow today. Not a big measure – and nothing for sure – but an inch or so is a maybe. It won’t last because tomorrow we are looking at rain. This is merely a taste of what’s coming before too long. And there’s no way to spice it up to make it tastier for some of us. Alas..it’s simply the beginning of the dull gray, black and white season that exists for what seems like far too long. Even looking out a window leave me feeling cold and longing for color. Personally, I’m already waiting for spring so everything, including me, can come back to life. People like me sort of hibernate until then. Tucking into hibernation mode as we speak.

Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2024-SW Michigan-What Do You Know, Another Gray Day

Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2024-SW Michigan-What Do You Know, Another Gray Day

Currently 45 with an average wind from the SW of 6 mph. Feels like 44 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 29.7, Humidity 77%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:42 am, Sunset 5:14 pm.

100% chance of ain showers with a high in the upper 40s. W winds 10 increasing to 10-15 with gusts to 25.

70% chance of rain showers possibly mixed with snow showers. Little or no overnight accumulation expected. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Could wake up to see a bit of snow on the ground but more likely we’ll see a little accumulation of it during the daylight hours tomorrow. 1-3″ perhaps. Knew the first snowfall of the season would come around sooner or later, but personally I’m always hoping for later. Much later. This won’t hang around all that long as Friday we’re expecting rain. As of right now the weekend is looking fairly dry and that sounds good. Next week is looking a bit messy on Monday but the worst so far to see is the chance of frozen mix on Thanksgiving. Figures. Give us a holiday and our weather system will figure out a way to screw it up for anyone on the road. We’ll see how it goes but hoping for better by the time the holiday rolls around.

Tuesday, Nov. 19. 2024-SW Michigan-Another Gray Sky Day

Tuesday, Nov. 19. 2024-SW Michigan-Another Gray Sky Day

Currently 55 with an average wind from the ENE of 2 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer  29.98, Humidity 100%, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 7:40 am, Sunset 5:15 pm.

100% chance of rain showers. High in the lower 60s. SE 10-15 mph becoming SW in the afternoon with gusts to 30.

Mostly cloudy with an overnight low in the lower 40s. W winds 5-10 in the evening becoming light.

We did get a bit of overnight rain. Not much but enough to leave a few puddles in the parking lot. Any is beneficial. Good thing ’cause it looks as if the chance for rain seems to appear in most of our coming up days. Right now, not on Sunday which is a rarity, but we’ll see how that goes. Peering far into the picture, there is the opportunity for a frozen mix on Thanksgiving Day. Swell! We can only hope that disappears from the scene. Nobody needs that. In the meantime, prepare to be on the damp side for a while.

Monday, Nov. 18, 2024-SW Michigan-Rain Will Hang Around

Monday, Nov. 18, 2024-SW Michigan-Rain Will Hang Around

Currently 42 with an average wind from the NE of 2 mph. Feels like 42 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 30., Humidity 100%, Visibility 0.19 mi., Sunrise 7:39 am, Sunset 5:15 pm.

Dense Fog Advisory this morning.

Partly cloudy with widespread morning fog.. 50 % chance of afternoon rain. High in the mid 50s. Light wins becoming N 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

90% chance of overnight rain. Low in the upper 40s. E winds 5-15 mph increasing to 15-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Some areas are experiencing very dense fog this morning. This should dissipate later but very likely turn into rain. Once this rain begins, I’m thinking it will be with us all week long. Perhaps a few snowflakes could mingle in with the rain on Thursday, but for the rest of it, all rain. We do need the rain, but a week’s worth all at once does seem a bit much. Would be nice if some sunshine could be tucked in there once in a while, but alas…not to be. Going to be a dreary week ahead.

Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024-SW Michigan-Clouds With Cooling On The Way

Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024-SW Michigan-Clouds With Cooling On The Way

Currently 48 with an average wind from the S of 4 mph. Feels like 45 degrees. Dew Point 45, Barometer 29.92, Humidity 90%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:38 am, Sunset 5:16 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of afternoon rain. High in the mid 50s. SW winds 5-15 mph with  gusts to 25.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain in the evening then clearing overnight. Low in the mid 30s. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 in the evening becoming light.

A few more days in the 50 degree range but then we’re dropping. Looks like wintry weather is one the way. Looking more and more like Michigan November. I guess the only things we can do is enjoy – if that’s the word – the next couple of days and gear up for what’s on the way. Starting to see snow showers show up here and there in future forecasts.  Not liking it, but seeing it none-the-less.
