There appears to be snow mentioned in every day during the coming week. Bundled up, keep the snow shovel handy and either enjoy it or endure it…what ever, just gear up and get through it.

Got some overnight snow, more today and tomorrow. Well, then even though the Winter Weather Advisory comes to a halt, we are still looking at more snow – some possible every single day for the next week. I reckon winter has set in. Had to eventually but personally I’m never ready. Nor appreciative. Yet here it is anyway. Keep the snow shovel handy.

Thursday, Nov 28, 2024-SW Michigan-Mostly Cloudy Thanksgiving Day

Thursday, Nov 28, 2024-SW Michigan-Mostly Cloudy Thanksgiving Day

Currently 31 with an average SSW 6 mph. Feels like 26 degrees. Dew Point 27, Humidity 86%, Barometer 29.87, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:51 am, Sunset 5:09 pm.

Mostly sunny until midday becoming mostly cloudy. High in the mid 30s. NW winds around 10 mph.

70% chance of snow. 1-3″ possible. Low in the mid 20s. W winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Starting out with supposedly partly cloudy skies, but looking outside all I see is a mostly overcast sky right now. Not surprising, it’s what I usually see out there during these months. There is a pretty fair chance for some snow tonight and tomorrow with a bit of accumulation. Looking ahead, there is the opportunity for snow of some sort every single day for the next week. We know how these systems very often miss us – going north or south – east or west.  So for us? We get what we get, but don’t be too surprised if we see snow in one way or another to end up November and start out December.

Have a wonderful, and grateful Thanksgiving Day. Give thanks for your blessings and if you stop to list them, you might be surprised, perhaps, at how much you have to be grateful for.

Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024-SW Michigan-More Overcast Skies

Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024-SW Michigan-More Overcast Skies

Currently 31 with an average wind from the N of 2 mph. Feels like 31 degrees. Dew Point 29, Humidity 94%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7;50 am, Sunset 5:10 pm.

Partly sunny with a high in the lower 40s. Light winds.

Mostly cloudy becoming partly cloudy with a low in the mid 20s. Light winds.

Hard to imagine but it’s a possibility that we could see another peek at the sun today. Yesterday was delightful. And after today, all I see in our forecast is the chance of snow showers showing up every day for the next week. Let’s all hope for some breaks in today’s clouds on this day before Thanksgiving. We all know from past weather history that things could be SO much worse than they are this time around. Grateful for the fact that they aren’t. Getting into my grateful mode a day early but hey…nothing wrong with that.

Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today’s Sunshine

Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024-SW Michigan-Enjoy Today’s Sunshine

Currently 34 with an average wind fro he SW of 4 mph. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 28, Humidity 77%, Barometer 30.32, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 5:10 pm

Partly sunny becoming mostly sunny today with a high in the upper 30s. W winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy. Low in the lower 20s. W winds around 10 mph with gusts to around 20.

It may be chilly out there but at least today it’s bright. Might be out last one so I’d suggest you enjoy it as much as you can. Except for a brief exception, our temperatures will be dipping into downright cold. And most sites are showing some form of precipitation for many of our days. Not sure yet what Thanksgiving Day will present for us to be driving in, but it will be a pleasant surprise if it’s dry. Big cold system marching from west to east across the country so we’re not the only ones heading into cold weather. Doesn’t make it any more comfortable but it’s nice to share, isn’t it?

Monday, Nov. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Weather To Deteriorate

Monday, Nov. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Weather To Deteriorate

Currently 41 with an average wind from the NNE of 6 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 41, Humidity 100%, Barometer 29.83, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 7:48 am, Sunset 5:11 pm.

70% chance of rain showers. High in the upper 40ds. E winds 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 becoming W in the afternoon.

Cloudy with a 50 % chance of rain or rain/snow showers. Low in the lower 30s. W winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 30.

Today and tomorrow, as dreary as  they are, will be the highlights of the week. Seriously. The temperature is due to keep falling and most days after tomorrow will include either snow showers or a frozen mix. Nothing pleasant in store weather-wise, that’s a given.  Thanksgiving Day could be messy for driving. If so, just be careful and watchful of what ever weather is given us. And try to be thankful. Things could be worse.

Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024-SW Michigan-Cold And Snow Heading Our Way

Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024-SW Michigan-Cold And Snow Heading Our Way

Currently 42 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 40 degrees. Dew Point 39, Humidity 90%, Barometer 29.98, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:46 am, Sunset 5:11 pm.

60% chance of rain showers.  Low in the lower 40s. SW winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

If we’re fortunate enough to get any sunshine this coming week, it will happen on Tuesday. It’ll be cold, but there is that outside chance for some brightness on that one day. The rest of the week? Forget about it! Not much ahead but cold temperatures, snow showers, frozen mix…you name it and if it’s uncomfortable, that’s what’s in our picture. Alas…

Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Heading Into Snow Showers Season

Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Heading Into Snow Showers Season

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SW 2 mph. Feels like 37 degrees. Dew Point 38. Barometer 29.99, Humidity 92%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:45 am, Sunset 5:12 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a chance of sprinkles. High in the mid 40s. W winds 5-15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the mid 30s. Light winds.

Tomorrow sounds dry during the day but the chance for rain returns during the Sunday night hours. After that the opportunity for precipitation continues for what looks like forever. Rain, show showers, frozen mix…it all shows up in one form or another from day to day so I reckon we’ll just have to keep an eye out for whatever we get. Fingers crossed that Thanksgiving Day stays dry with clear roads.

Friday, Nov. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Ain’t No Sunshine In Our Skies

Friday, Nov. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Ain’t No Sunshine In Our Skies

Currently 42 with an average wind from he W of 6 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 29.83, Humidity 100%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:44 am, Sunset 5:13 pm.

Looking at clouds and the possibility of more rain today and tonight. Rain on Sunday night will usher in what looks like an entire week of precipitation. Everything mentioned from rain to snow showers to frozen mix. Sounds like a lousy week of weather. Or not. Could end up just clouds but on the other hand some of the weather sites mention snow right from then on of some sort of another. ‘Tis the season, I suppose.

Thursday, Nov. 21 2024-SW Michigan-First Snow Of Season

Thursday, Nov. 21 2024-SW Michigan-First Snow Of Season

Currently 33 with an average wind from the SSE of 2 mph. Feels like 29 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 29.52, Humidity 100%, Visibility 3 mi. Sunrise 7:43 am, Sunset 5:13 pm.

40% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the lower 30s. NW winds around 10 mph with gusts to 20.

Woke to find a dusting of snow here and there. Not, for some of us, a happy sight. Expecting the possibility of a bit of measurable snow today. Not a big measure – and nothing for sure – but an inch or so is a maybe. It won’t last because tomorrow we are looking at rain. This is merely a taste of what’s coming before too long. And there’s no way to spice it up to make it tastier for some of us. Alas..it’s simply the beginning of the dull gray, black and white season that exists for what seems like far too long. Even looking out a window leave me feeling cold and longing for color. Personally, I’m already waiting for spring so everything, including me, can come back to life. People like me sort of hibernate until then. Tucking into hibernation mode as we speak.
