Monday, Sept. 30, 2024-SW Michigan-Nice Ending For Month Of September

Currently 66 with an average wind from the ESE of 3 mph. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 30.02, Humidity 80%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:39 am, Sunset 7: 24 pm.

Mostly sunny with a high in the upper 70s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 60s. Light winds.

Sun for the end of the month, perhaps a bit of rain to usher in the month of October. Looks like a few 70 degree days ahead, but mostly starting to dip down into the 60s.  Probably about right for October. My hummingbirds seem to have flown the coop…er, feeder. Also about right for heading into October. I wish them all a safe journey and a return to me next spring. Actually, I’m already anxious for the return of spring, let alone the hummers. But as we all know I’m not a fan of either fall nor winter. Alas…such is life.

Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024-SW Michigan-Couple Warm Days

Mostly clear with a low in the mid 50s. NE winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening.

Summer-like temperatures today and tomorrow and the rain seems to have been completely taken out of the picture. Looks like sunshine with a lot of 60 degree days this coming week. No rain showing up until a week from now and even that is, at the moment, a slim chance.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024-SW Michigan-Slight Chance For Rain

Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024-SW Michigan-Slight Chance For Rain

Currently 64 with an average wind from the ESE of 6 mph. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 59, Barometer 29.84, Humidity 75%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:37 am, Sunset 7:27 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain. Low in the lower 60s. NE winds 5-15 mph with gusts to 25.

Perhaps some rain today, not a big percentage hanging around for us, but some none-the-less. However, tomorrow is looking like a definite winner. No other rain in our forecast until a possible chance for some on Tuesday. Again, not a surety but the opportunity is there. Should be a terrific week of early fall weather.

Friday, Sept. 27, 2024-SW Michigan-Fine Today, Rain Tomorrow

Friday, Sept. 27, 2024-SW Michigan-Fine Today, Rain Tomorrow

Currently 61 with an average rain from the ESE of 3 mph. Feels like 61 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 29.96, Humidity 78%, Visibility 9 mi. Sunrise 7:36 am, Sunset 7:29 pm.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain. Low in the lower 60s. NE winds 10-20 mph with gusts to around 30.

My how fast things change. Earlier this week we were talking about possible rain on Sunday. Now it appears as if Saturday will be our rainy day with Sunday turning out to be party sunny. At least still one day of the weekend seems to be a winner. At least we’re not getting the rain some of the states are having to deal with as a result of Hurricane Helene. What little rain we’ll get won’t amount to much in comparison. Lucky us.

Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024-SW Michigan-Fine Fall Day For Us

Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024-SW Michigan-Fine Fall Day For Us

Currently 61 with an average wind from the NE of 2 mph. Feels like 61 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 30.06, Humidity 76%, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 7:35 am, Sunset 7:31 pm.

Sunny with a high in the upper 70s. L winds becoming NE 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy with a low in the lower 50s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Today should be a winner, tomorrow likely, too.  But believe it or not we might be looking at the tail end of Hurricane Helene’s remnants on around Sunday. The storm is set to slam into Northern Florida but the path of it may curve to the north and east once it gets inland. Granted, the strong winds and dangerous elements of it’s Florida lading will be long worn out, but resulting rain may remain. So we may or may not get a rainy end to our weekend.

Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Look For Afternoon Sunshine

Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024-SW Michigan-Look For Afternoon Sunshine

Currently 63 with an average wind from the WSW of 2 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 29.87, Humidity 94%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:33 am, Sunset 7:33 pm.

Mostly cloudy with  20% chance of morning rain showers becoming a mostly sunny afternoon. High in the lower 70s. NW winds 5-10 mph.

Mostly clear with a low in the lower 50s. Light winds.

We’ve reached the point where our sun rises and sets at the same time – 7:33 – morning and evening, and from now on we will have less light than dark. Not in big gobs at a time, but gradually. And it does seem as if our 80 degree days are now a thing of the past until next year. Slowly but surely we’re heading into the short, cruel season. Mother Nature lures us in with a season of glorious beauty to admire and then lowers the boom on us with winter. Yup…definitely not heading into the right direction for me.

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2024-SW Michigan-Rainy Tuesday

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2024-SW Michigan-Rainy Tuesday

Currently 59 with an average wind from the ESE of 2 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 62, Barometer 29.8, Humidity 97%, Visibility 6 mi., Sunrise 7:32 am, Sunset 7:34 pm.

70% chance of rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms. High in the upper 60s. E winds 5-10 mph.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Patchy overnight fog. Low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Looking for rain most of the day and then again over the weekend now appears to be a rainy one. As of now, Saturday through Monday. Not a 100% surety but the opportunity is definitely there.

Looking like a major hurricane is set to roar into Florida this week. Aren’t we lucky when we talk about rain we’re talking an inch or so, whereas they’re expecting the possibility of major amounts. Michigan definitely has a lot to offer and the lack of hurricanes and earthquakes most certainly figure way up there on that scale.

Monday, Sept. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Clear Today, Rain Tomorrow

Monday, Sept. 23, 2024-SW Michigan-Clear Today, Rain Tomorrow

Currently 59 with a 7 mph from the ENE. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 29.99, Humidity 88%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:31 am, Sunset 7:36 pm.

Mostly sunny today with a high in the lower 70s. NE winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain. Low in the mid 50s. E winds 5-10 mph.

A pleasant day today but look for rain tomorrow. None after that seen until perhaps Sunday. Nights and mornings now are beginning to feel more like fall. A seasonal chill is definitely in the air. Nothing drastic in our forecast for the next week, just Michigan gradually moving on into Autumn.

Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Possible Afternoon T-Storms

Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024-SW Michigan-Possible Afternoon T-Storms

Currently 68 with an average wind from the SSE of 1 mph. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 57, Barometer 29.86, Humidity 59%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:30 am, Sunset 7:38 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Low in the lower 50s. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Not seeing any rain this morning but this afternoon may become a different story. Rain again on Tuesday is a possibility. 70 degrees seem to be what we’ll be looking at this week. Not a bad week coming at us for the first week of Fall.

Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024-SW Michigan-Super Foggy Morning

Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024-SW Michigan-Super Foggy Morning

Currently 68 with a calm wind from the SSE. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 67, Barometer 29.92, Humidity 100%, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 7:25 am, Sunset 7:40 pm.

Areas of dense morning fog. Sunny afternoon with a high in the mid 80s. Light winds.

Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of overnight rain. Low around 60. Light winds.

Extremely foggy this morning but it’s supposed to burn off leaving us with a fine sunny afternoon. Still very warm, likely to get to around 87 today. This sort of ends with the rain coming in Sunday and again on Tuesday. We’ll be seeing 70 degree days this coming week with sun and clouds sharing our days. Looks like a comfortable week for us.
