A second cold front moving on through is leaving us with a very comfortable week heading our way. Mostly days in the 70s and as of right now, no rain. AC off and windows open at night? Sure sounds terrific to me.  Hard to believe we’re in the last day of August already. September is a fall month and I’m already seeing a lot of dead brown leaves on the ground. Heading in the wrong direction for my tastes but not much I can do about it but gear up and get ready.

Nice rain this morning, possible a bit more today. This rain is bringing down our temperatures to what is going to feel quite comfortable this coming week. Right now the weather for Labor Day is looking to be about perfect so if you have an outdoor activity in mind, should be just fine for whatever it is. The last ‘official’ outdoor activity for the summer couldn’t ask for better. Lucky us.

Not a bad day today, perhaps some rain today and tomorrow, but following all that sounds terrific. Starting Saturday and onward, not much showing up but sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Next week should definitely be a winner. Augurst will go out and September come in very pleasant.

The severe heat we were enduring yesterday has broken, with the help of quite a storm. Plenty of folk still without power today. Nothing bad here but I guess I lucked out.  Still and all, it’s still plenty humid. Never fear ’cause a cold front will be sweeping down over us by this weekend and we’ll reap the benefits by next week. Comfortable 70 degree days are on the way. Hold on, relief is on the way.

There is a Heat Index Advisory and there is also a slight risk for severe weather to develop. Today is going to be stifling and as bad as it is, we can at least take heart that after today, it will begin to be more comfortable. Still some 80 degrees with a small chance for some showers on Wednesday and maybe Friday, but much better than what we’re experiencing today. Try to stay cool any way possible, hydrate and just be careful. In heat like this, it’s easy to find yourself in trouble quite easily.

And as a personal aside…this is exactly why it’s foolish and dangerous to have schools start before Labor Day. How it ever got going and allowed, is beyond comprehension.  Schools should start after Labor Day and end with Memorial Day. End of story. Now do something about it.

Going to stay warm for the beginning of this week.  Mostly today and especially tomorrow. There is a decided chance for severe weather tomorrow to go along with the heat, so just be aware and pay attention. Things will improve considerably by week’s end.

We are facing a few days of high heat with a slight chance of some storms tossed in for fun. Maybe today, maybe Tuesday. But hot for sure. Just stay cool and keep an eye on the weather. And keep in mind that next weekend will be better heading into a week of 70 degree days. Something to look forward to for sure.

That high pressure system is becoming firmly in place bringing the heat from the south into our arena. I’ve been saying we could see several 90 degree days, and I’m still saying that, plus. I’m thinking well into the 90s for at least one of those days. Some relief could probably be ours by next weekend, but make no mistake, this is going to be one hot week we have to get through. We can do it. Just remember the south and west that’s been going through months of this and even hotter. We are fortunate to only get small bouts of this. If nothing else, it will make the though of fall to come more welcome even for those who enjoy the summer climate.

Still comfortable today but starting tomorrow the high pressure ridge nudging it’s way north and east will bring us much higher temperatures. We could possibly see  90 degrees several time in this little march of hot days. By the end of next week, perhaps Friday of next week we’ll be in more comfortable weather. Stay cool and hang in there. There’s light at the end of the tunnel we’re about to head in to.

Doesn’t feel like it right now, but by Sunday we’ll be returning to the sweltering weather. And, as hot as it’s going to get –  we could see a day or two of 90 degrees – it won’t last all that long. By the end of next week we’ll be right back to this 70 degree range weather. Just have to hang in there for 4 or 5 days, stay cool and wait it out. It will get better – and cooler.
