Once again a major storm gave us what amounted to a glancing blow, leaving us with a mess but not the heavy-duty mess that was created elsewhere. We got a few inches of snow, mixed with freezing rain, sleet and what we have this morning is a snow cover crusted with ice. Sure makes walking in the backyard going out to feed the birds and critters rather tricky. We lucked out and didn’t lose power, which had been a possibility. Our roads are messy to slippery, and it pays to pay attention. Walk and drive cautiously.

Our weekend is looking fair with nothing drastic coming in until Sunday night, which at the moment looks to be a repeat of the freezing rain scenario. I think we’re going to be getting this crummy type of weather off and on for a while so best thing is to just be prepared and careful.
