Sunday, March 21, 2021-SW Michigan-Couple Of Really Nice Days In Store

Currently 49 with an average wind from the SE of 4 mph. Feels like 49 degrees. Dew Point 25, Barometer 30.39, Humidity 39%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:94 am, Sunset 7:55 pm.

Sunny with a high in the mid 60s. S winds 5 – 15 mph with gusts to 25.

Partly cloudy  overnight skies with a low in the lower 40s. S winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20.

Can you believe it, the next couple of days could bring us temperatures in the upper 60s? Phenomenal. And the best case scenario would be those followed by a couple of rainy days. Those might be a tad iffy, but we can hope. I simply can’t help mentioning how wonderful this month of March is. It just is. Isn’t the usual month of March where we can be out raking up leaves and tidying up yards like we are this time around. Gotta love it. I do, anyway.

Saturday, March 20, 2021-SW Michigan-Happy First Day Of Spring

Currently 39 with an average wind from the S of 1 mph. Feels like 39 degrees. Dew point 21, Barometer 30.56, Humidity 48%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:46 am, Sunset 7:54 pm.

Clear overnight with a low in the mid 30s. S winds 10 mph.

A glorious first day of Spring in SW Michigan. Fifty degree day with sunshine? Oh yeah…we’ll take it and be grateful for it. Tomorrow sounds as promising and maybe even Monday. Even warmer. Imagine that. March is being so kind and gentle this time around. I’m hoping that the rain mentioned for Tuesday and a few days following that does put in an appearance. We really could use some rain. I reckon we’ll find out in a few days. In the meantime, enjoy the heck out of Spring starting out on such a positive note.

Friday, March 19, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Weekend Ahead

Friday, March 19, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Weekend Ahead

Currently 31 with an average wind from the NE of 8 mph. Feels like 24 mph. Dew Point 19, Barometer 30.51, Humidity 61%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:47 am, Sunset 7:53 pm.

Sunny with a high in the upper  40s. NE winds 10-15 mph becoming E in the afternoon.

Clear overnight skies. Low in the upper 20s. Light winds.

We can look forward to 3 or 4 nice days ahead of us and then looks as if we might be facing a rainy week ahead. Somewhere from Tuesday on, look for rain. We can use it to freshen things up, help things green up. And tomorrow is the first day of Spring, so…

Starting to see that faint green tinge on the top of some trees. Weeping Willows are good ones to start looking at this time of year. Encouragement that our multi green shades of summer are on the way. Glorious!

Thursday, March 18, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly Windy Morning

Thursday, March 18, 2021-SW Michigan-Chilly Windy Morning

Currently 35 with an average wind from the ENE of 14 mph. Feels like 24 degrees. Dew Point 31, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 85%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:49 am, Sunset 7:52 pm.

Windy. Mostly cloudy with a chance of becoming partly sunny this afternoon. High in the mid 40s. NE winds 15- 25 mph with gusts to around 45.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the mid 20s. NE winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

We have a wind advisory until 8 tonight and yup…it’s windy. Looking at the sky it’s difficult to imagine this clearing up and giving us a chance of any sun showing through this afternoon, but there is always hope. Seeing more 60 degree days showing up in our future. That’s so encouraging. This March is being kind so far and doesn’t seem as if it’s tending to become anything less as it continues. Mid stream so far and so far, so good. At least here. Most certainly not as kind and calm in other places, but then again…we don’t live in other places, so right here, right now, is just fine and dandy.

Wednesday, March 17, 2021-SW Michigan-St. Patrick’s Day Greetings

Wednesday, March 17, 2021-SW Michigan-St. Patrick’s Day Greetings

Currently 34 with a calm wind from the ENE. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 33, Barometer 30.08, Humidity 94%, Visibility 6 mi., Sunrise 7:51 am, Sunset 7:50 pm.

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy today. High in the upper 40s. Light winds becoming N 5 -15 mph.

50% chance of overnight rain possibly mixed with some snow showers. Low in the mid 30s. NE winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 30.

We’ve already come the the point where our day is almost equal from morning to night. 7:51 am to 7:50 pm. Seasonal change of numbers. Soon we’ll have more daylight hours than darkness. Love that but it seems like it rushes to fast to where it turns that corner and heads off in the other direction. So fast. Too fast. In the meantime, going to enjoy as much daylight – hopefully sunlight – as possible.

Not a pleasant weather day today but watching the very real chance of tornado damage setting its sights on the south today, we’ll take our chilly, cloudy day. Hoping for the best for all of those seemingly in line for some violent weather today through tomorrow morning. Not looking good.

Tuesday, March 16, 2021-SW Michigan-Dodged Another Weather Bullet

Tuesday, March 16, 2021-SW Michigan-Dodged Another Weather Bullet

Currently 29 with an average wind from the NNE of 4 mph. Feels like 29 degrees. Dew Point 27, Barometer 29.96, Humidity 93%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:53 am, Sunset 7:49 pm

Mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 40s. E winds 5 – 10 mph becoming N in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the upper 20s. Light winds.

Okay, so another round of messy mixed weather somehow slipped past us without leaving anything behind for us to have to deal with. Chilly out there, but no snow and no frozen mix stuff.  That being in our overnight forecast, waking up to this is the best option. I am a bit concerned about the lack of precipitation in that we could definitely use some rain (I have a friend in New Jersey and their recent wildfires are a direct result of not getting enough moisture laid down by Mother Nature in a timely manner), but at the moment, it does sound as if Thursday might bring us a bit of rain. Short of that, should that not happen, I don’t see any moisture for us until about next Tuesday. So I’m hoping for the need of an umbrella in a couple of days. I guess, once again, we’ll see how it goes.

Monday, March 15, 2021-SW Michigan-Expecting A Messy Night’s Weather

Monday, March 15, 2021-SW Michigan-Expecting A Messy Night’s Weather

Currently 25 with an average wind from the SE of 5 mph. Feels like 17 degrees. Dew Point 18, Barometer 30.38, Humidity 74%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:53 am, Sunset 7:48 pm.

Mostly sunny until about midday becoming mostly cloudy. High around 40. E winds 10-20 mph with gusts to around 30.

70% chance of snow likely possibly mixed with freezing drizzle. Snow accumulation 1″ or less. Low in the upper 20s. E winds 10-25 with gusts to 25.

This morning was beautiful. So much color in the sky and even though the forecast was for us to stay mostly sunny until midday, in less than an hour the sky had completely covered over with gray clouds. I’m just happy I was able to catch a glimpse – and a quick picture – of the color while it was there. Tonight sounds like it could become a true mess. Maybe. We do know how fast things can change and how often the crummy weather passes us by, but I don’t think we can always count on that. I think we might expect some of this unhappy weather during the seasonal change-over. Would rather skip that, but we don’t have much of a choice.  We take what we get. I guess we’ll figure out by morning what we were dealt tonight. Fingers crossed for it not to be too bad.

Sunday, March 14, 2021-SW Michigan- March Continues To Be Wonderful

Sunday, March 14, 2021-SW Michigan- March Continues To Be Wonderful

Currently 41 with an average wind from the WNW of 8 mph. Feels like 34 degrees. Dew Point 16, Barometer 30.39, Humidity 35%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:56 am, Sunset 7:47 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 40s. NE winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 25.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the lower 20s. E winds 5 – 15 mph.

This continues to be one of those March months I’m always saying could be nice. Doesn’t get much more nice in SW Michigan than this one is being. Will we get more snow showers and wintry mix stuff? Yup…without question. In fact, tomorrow and tomorrow night might bring us just just a mess. But it won’t last and our temperatures are holding steady. This perks up my spirits like you couldn’t believe.  I realize that elsewhere in the country things aren’t going quite as nice and comfortable as we are but here is where I am. And here is perfectly lovely this year. Spring is getting a heard start and it couldn’t be more welcome.

Saturday, March 13, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Weekend Ahead

Saturday, March 13, 2021-SW Michigan-Pleasant Weekend Ahead

Currently 35 with an average wind from the S of 2 mph. Feels like 35 degrees. Dew Point 15, Barometer 30.44, Humidity 44%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:58 am, Sunset 6:46 pm.

Sunny to partly sunny with a high around 50. SW winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the lower 30s. W winds 5 -1 5 mph becoming NW 5 -10 mph.

This weekend the weather will be chilly but we’re going to see a good share of sunshine. Monday and Tuesday are shaping up to be a tad iffy. Might end up with some wintry mix, which is the worst, but whatever we get won’t last. The daytime temperatures will remain in the 40 – 50 degree range. We’ll just have to be careful during the messy parts.

Friday, March 12, 2021-SW Michigan-Wind Finally Going To Die Down

Friday, March 12, 2021-SW Michigan-Wind Finally Going To Die Down

Currently 41 with an average wind from the SW of 7 mph. Feels like 41 degrees. Dew Point 29, Barometer 30.35, Humidity 63%, Vitality 10 mi., Sunrise 7:00 am, Sunset 6:44 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 40s. NW winds 10-20 with gusts to 30.

Mostly clear tonight with a low in the lower 20s. N winds 10-20 becoming light.

Still a bit breezy, but nothing like we’ve had the past few days. Very high winds in Michigan. I understand one of the enormous old trees on Midland Rd that has been the nesting spot for the Saginaw Eagles has succumbed to the high wind and is down. The Eagles trying to make sense of this is heartbreaking. Nest, eggs…down.  It’s things like this that remind you how cruel and heartless nature can be.

Still watching the prediction for the Denver area and the snowfall expected. Seems the numbers have been downplayed a bit today but still looks to be a whopper of a storm. Glad it’s not here.
