Mostly clear. Low mid 40s. Light winds.

It sounds wonderful next week to be seeing more 80 degree days. We managed to dip down low enough last night so I honestly felt like flipping on the heat this morning to take the chill off the house. That’s not nice. It’s time for warmth. I’ll be happy to see next week bring it back.

Today is a winner so far. A small chance of showers, but I doubt that’s going to materialize. And it looks like we might see a temperature up to 80 again the beginning of the week. Lovely. Summer is upon us.

Thursday, May 28, 2020-SW Michigan-More Clouds Maybe More Rain

Thursday, May 28, 2020-SW Michigan-More Clouds Maybe More Rain

Temperature 74 with an average wind from the ESE of 9 mph. Feels like 74 degrees. Dew Point 67, Barometer 29.88 & falling, Humidity 79%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:07 am, Sunset 9:12 pm.

90% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low upper 50s. Light winds.

Temperatures much lower than the past few days. Feeling rather comfortable. Humidity is high but it still feels better. We really haven’t had all the expected rain here. I know it’s falling someplace, but it’s around and about, just not particularly here. Fine with me.

Wednesday, May 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Had A Little Rain, Maybe More Tomorrow

Wednesday, May 27, 2020-SW Michigan-Had A Little Rain, Maybe More Tomorrow

Currently 76 with an average wind from the WSW 3 mph. Feels like 76 degrees. Dew Point 68, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 76%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:07 am, Sunset 9:11 pm.

Partly cloudy becoming cloudy with a 50% chance of showers and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 60s. S winds around 5 mph.

It did finally rain a bit last night, but not enough to make up for the ‘days’ of rain and t-storms that had been predicted. We seem to have been in on the light edge of it all. Maybe some more rain coming in tomorrow but not expecting a lot. But at least the temperatures are dropping from what was around 90 yesterday.

Tuesday, May 26, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Still Holding Off

Tuesday, May 26, 2020-SW Michigan-Rain Still Holding Off

Temperature 84 with an average wind from the SE of 6 mph. Feels like 88 degrees. Dew point 67, Barometer 30.03, Humidity 56%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:08 am, Sunset 9:10 pm.

Partly cloudy with an 80% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High 88. S winds 5 -10 mph.

A few overnight clouds. Low 68. SSE winds 5 -10 mph.

Coming down from a week ago looking at at least 6 days in a row of rain, we have yet to have a single drop fall on us. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful. Had things been as they should and people allowed to live their lives freely rather than being under house arrest for political reasons, it would have been a splendid day for everyone to be out and about having fun.

Be that as it may, we are now supposedly looking at storms tonight and perhaps the next couple of days. We shall have to wait and see. So far, the rain forecasts have been so far off the mark as to be aiming at an entirely different target. But things can change.

Monday, May 25, 2020-SW Michigan-Happy Memorial Day

Monday, May 25, 2020-SW Michigan-Happy Memorial Day

Currently 74 with an average wind from the S of 7 mph. Feels like 74 degrees. Dew Point 65, Barometer 29.98 & rising, Humidity 75%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9:09 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of a shower or a thunderstorm. High 83. SSW winds 10 -15mph.

Partly cloudy overnight skies. Low 66. S winds 5 -10 mph.

So far, all the rain that had previously been forecast has eluded us. May it continue to do so. But we are destined to get pretty warm over the next dew days. Here, sudden hot days with rain in the forecast usually brings storms so we’ll have to be alert. Plus the fact that by the end of the week the temperature is said to be about 20 degrees lower so that almost guarantees storms. We’ll have to see.

In the meantime, observe this Memorial Day with a prayer of thanks for the service men and women who fought and didn’t make it back home. Who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Sunday, May 24, 3030-SW Michigan-Rain Held Off So Far

Sunday, May 24, 3030-SW Michigan-Rain Held Off So Far

Currently 68 with an average wind from the SSW of 8 mph. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 64, Barometer 29.91 & rising, Humidity 87%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:09 am, Sunset 9:09 pm.

Sun & clouds mix with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. High 76. WSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with that same chance of a thunderstorm showing up. Low 64. S winds 5 -10 mph.

Well, last night’s rain storms never materialized and fingers are crossed that today will remain as rain-free. For as gloomy as the prospect of what seemed like eternal rain but a few days ago, so far hasn’t been as sad as it could have been. Now rather than 6 days in a row of rain, it’s been shaved down to 4. Hoping this will continue. This morning is lovely, indeed.

Saturday, may 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Sun And Clouds With Overnight T-Storms Coming

Saturday, may 23, 2020-SW Michigan-Sun And Clouds With Overnight T-Storms Coming

Currently 67 with an average wind from the SE of 4 mph. Feels like 67 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 30.03 & rising, Humidity 80%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:10 am, Sunset 9:07 pm.

A mix of sun and clouds. High 79. SE 10 -15 mph.

80% chance of overnight thunderstorms. Low 63. SSE winds 10 -15 mph.

Today may be the last decent day for the next week. We all know how quickly a weather forecast can change but right at the moment it appears as if the next 6 days will be bringing rain. What a dreary week ahead. Put that on top of the latest news from our maniacal governor that she’s decided to keep us locked down until some time in June. No wonder so many people are depressed and getting more so. Between Mother Nature being mean and our governor being crazy, we’re pretty much screwed.

Friday, May 22, 2020-SW Michigan-A Week Of Rain Supposedly Coming At Us

Friday, May 22, 2020-SW Michigan-A Week Of Rain Supposedly Coming At Us

Partly cloudy. Low 57. ESE winds 5 -10 mph.

There is a Flood Warning out, which is supposed to be lifted in a couple of days as, according to the wording, most rivers have crested and are beginning to recede. That isn’t what I’m seeing. I’m not quite sure where those posting these warnings get their information, but if it rains for the next 6 days, as the forecast seems to indicate, it’s doubtful that warning will be eased. Frankly, I’ve not seen the river here this high, so much flooding, for many, many years. And I doubt it will take more than a couple more days of rain to make matters even worse around here. Even today, the last day before a week of rain washes in, it’s been raining off and on, and lightly, this morning. Things aren’t looking very good for those living along any water way in Michigan right now.
