Wednesday, July 12 Southwest Michigan – Some Strong Storms Expected
Currently 77 with a SSW wind of 1mph ignoring that number so it feels exactly like 77 degrees. Dew Point 67, Humidity 71.4%, Barometer 29.9, Visibility 10 mi. There is already an Areal Flood Watch in effect in advance of several rounds of thunderstorms due today. Rainfall rates will top up to 2″ an hour in the strongest storms. Local storm totals could exceed 5″ of rainfall. So – Along with a high of 84 and SW winds 10 – 20 mph, we are expecting showers with thunderstorms today. Some storms will be severe and could produce gusty winds with frequent lightening.
90% chance of about the same for tonight, with a low in the upper 60s. SW winds 5 – 10 mph.
Sounds like a lively day coming up and I think my first course of action will be to get out in my tiny backyard and batten the hatches best I can. Not much back there to batten, but what is should be. Many times these things miss us, but this time around I think we could be in the bull’s eye. Or somewhere there abouts. Wise to be prepared just in case, I reckon.
