Wow! Found a rain gauge half full this morning. 2.85″ of rain in there. It was wonderful waking up just a little before 5:00 this morning listening to some thunder wandering in, a flash or two of rain, and the – whoa! – a gully-washer. And it didn’t let up. It rained, and I mean hard, for what seemed like an hour. Then it continued off and on all through the wee hours of the morning until I finally heard the thunder drift off into the distance. We’ve been in sore need of rain for awhile now, can’t even remember the last time we’ve had rain like this. Of course, because of the amount of it in such a short time, we now have some flood alerts out for those folks up and down the rivers in this area. There is a very real possibility of more rain today and tonight, so greening back up will be the name of the game for awhile. Much appreciated, too.
