What a delight to wake to the lovely sound of thunder – and the even lovelier sound of falling rain. Been some time since that happened. We did get a welcome .60″ of rain in my backyard. After listening for a bit I got up to sit by the bedroom window and watch the dry earth soaking up life giving moisture, listened to birds out in the woods seeming joyful at the prospect of a morning shower. It was soothing – so much so that I eventually went back to bed and back to sleep waking up much past my usual morning routine time. Loved that, too. We have a very small chance for more rain over the next few days, but nothing strong enough to guarantee much in the line of results. We’d appreciate more should it come around, but I’m not going to count on any of it. We all do know things change rapidly in the world of weather, so we could end up with more or even less chance for rain. Not up to us, we merely take what we get.
Sounds as if down along the Gulf Coast they can expect a lot of rain again-mostly in areas that have already been undated with too much water. And to think this is only the beginning of the hurricane season is frightening. Prayers go out to everyone, once again, as hurricane season winds up and gets ready to play the annual game.
