There is the opportunity to see a total solar eclipse around dawn tomorrow. Our area could – if the skies cooperate and you have a a clear view of the horizon – have the chance to see 30 or 40% of this event. If you do try to see it, make sure you have the proper eye protection because even with a small viewing such as we could see, it’s still dangerous to look at with the naked eye. So just don’t do that.
Anyway, we do have a bit of a chance for some rain and since that’s also becoming a rather rare event, we should all hope for that to materialize. I fear this is going to become another perhaps overly warm, too dry season. Let’s hope not. It’s bad enough that the farmers in so many parts of this nation of ours are facing more financial woes due to dry weather, but this is something we here in Michigan don’t usually have to face. I’m thinking the situation is only going to grow and encompass more of us facing such issues. Not good. I think it’s way past time to begin not only thinking of different ways to grow crops and tend to farm animals but to implement those ideas. Our food supply might well depend on these new and ingenious ways to grow things. Such is the way life on this planet of ours is going…
